Hello Knowflakes,

I've been hearing about progressed charts, and so I did an internet search on the topic. There are a few links I found with vague descriptions, however the concept of a progressed chart that you grow into is very exciting to me, as I am looking at mine right now and looks like I'll be progressing from my big three in water signs to my big three in fire signs

Has anyone found their progressed chart to be an accurate description of how they've grown in this life? Is it useful as a type of guide, or is it predictive of what types of tests a person will potentially come across? When are these "progressions" taking place? Over a lifetime? What about comparing the progressed charts of two people in a romantic relationship, would you interpret the comparison as how the two will grow together? Also, what is the significance of the solar arc? I'm not sure I understand that concept as of yet

whew..

It's ok, hooked, it's a GOOD thing. Each sign is a progression from the previous sign, so it just means you've mastered one and your learing ahead. My progressed ascendant is Capricorn now, rather than the Saggie ascendant of my natal chart. It's a GOOD thing, I am much more responsible and resourceful than I've been in the past.
I don't really know much about progressed charts, but I do believe it's a good thing. It's what we're here for, is to progress. (what an expansive Saggie thing to say lol)

thanks for the reply lioneye. So I gather that the progression happens gradually over time as a consequence of how we respond to the lessons that we have to learn. So if a person begins to feel the effects of their progressed chart, then would they still refer to their natal chart for transits and composite charts? Anyone else feeling their progressions? What about the solar arc? Inquiring scorpio moon trying to fathom the depths of existence here people

I think for synastry and composite charts you would still use your natal chart. It's who you are, after all. Your progressed is what you're emulating. It's like growing into a pair of shoes. You are your feet, (your natal chart), and you're growing into something that, although not you (not your "feet") become one with you (the shoes on your feet)while wearing them.
You don't want to wear them until you've grown enough to fit into them comfortably, and you do eventually become very comfortable in them.

Have I succeeded in utterly confusing you?? That wasn't my intent, honest. Funny, it sounded much clearer in my head.

Anyway I think what people do most often is they use their two natal charts to create a composite chart, then they compare the composite chart with their individual progressed charts, one at a time. This gives a "snap shot" of how this relationship will effect who they are NOW.
