Is it possible to be a conservative Aqua? I know a friend who is an Aqua born Jan. 21 who insists he is a Capricorn, because he is not a liberal and does not fit the description of Aquarius at all. he's been reading the paper for Capricorn for years and refuses to believe now, that he is not a Capricorn. He does act like a Capricorn. His Venus is Cap, and mercury are in Capricorn.

He is so stubborn about this, it's as if he is trying to change astrology!

What do you think? HIs sun is in the 5th, venus and mercury are in the 4th.

Well, Aquarians ARE stubborn!

My father has always believed he's a Scorpio (born Oct. 23), but he's in fact a Libra with a bit of Scorpio influence.

Re: conservative Aquas:
I dunno. I've noticed that there *always* seems to be at least a streak of conservatism in every fixed-sun person that I've known, no matter what else they may have you believe.
BUT, I've also noticed that no matter how conservative an Aqua might be, there's a little Uranus knocking about there somewhere, it just might not be where you necessarily get to see it.
I worked part-time at a video rental store about a year back, and there was this one guy who always came in dressed in a plain grey suit and tie, rented run-of-the-mill flicks, and looked about as like a typical Capricorn as I think I've ever seen (y'know - clean-cut, conservative, not particularly full-of-flair in style).
One day I came in wearing 3-quarter length pants with long rainbow-striped toe socks, the toes clearly visible because I was wearing sandals. (This was laid-back store on a Sunday, so I could do that.)
When he came up to the register, he looked down at my legs and feet, gave a great big grin, and looked me in the eye, "Those are great socks!" I looked at his birthday (on his account) - sure enough, early February.

I know many conservative Aquas. LOL..maybe your friend is having an identity crisis.

Have you run his chart? Maybe he has more Earth signs and feels less of an Aquarius because of that?

My daughter's best freind's birthday is also January 21, and she thinks she's an Aquarius, but I've got her pegged as a Capricorn. This kid is very serious, has a lot of responsibility at home (2 baby brothers and a somewhat unstable home life) and when she gets mad, she stays mad for a long time (totally an EARTH characteristic). Also, the fact that my daughter and her are such dear dear freinds, while my daughter has a Cappy moon and Venus, I'm inclined to believed that this girl is of the Capricorn vibration, not Aquarius. But see, the sun moves into each sign at a different day depending on the year.

I`m a fairly conservative Aqua Of course my Cappy rising and Virgo moon insist upon it. But, like Prox said " there's a little Uranus knocking about there somewhere"

Well now -- I married an Aqua who was VERY conservative. Too much so, in fact. I blame it all on the Venus,Mars, Saturn Conj in Capricorn. Truly, he bored me to tears within 6 weeks after we married.

Looking back, i must say i didn't see ANY Aqua qualities about him. He was a selfish somebody -- oh, i won't make a list -- lol.

My mum was born on jan 21. My bf - on 11 of feb. Because of them I used to laugh when reading Aquarious descriptions. They are detached, and aloof, non-emotional, and stuborn, and keep others at a distance and never let them in - that's Aqu for them.

Not only do they have NO crazy ideas of their own, but when my Aqu Asc kicked in (especially when Uranus came over it), they both looked at like some sort of strange creature, possessed by an evil spirit.

they are the most conservative, orthodox people I know. Mum does have a Cap Venus, but that's it!

My bf has got Venus and Mercury in Aqua. I couldn't have possibly guessed it! Still can't believe it...

I know what you mean, I had a long term friend and business partner who was an Aqua, with a lot of pisces placements, and Venus and mars in Aqua. I bought him a joke card once, and he was so unamused I had to laugh. No sense of humour at all and very dry. No nutty jokes there, with me, I laugh like crazy over that kind of thing. I think I was lured by his Pisces persona. After that I only gave him serious gifts, and cards that showed how much I respected him.

The opposite happens with Geminis, they love Joke cards, and I tried to give one a serious card once and he got annoyed. I love jokes too.

I am 20 Jan (very cusp but Aqua sun), Cancer Moon/ Cappy Venus.

I have many Aquarian traits however I would say that my persona to the world is most definitely conservative. However I think I just do this because I am too scared to not conform. I hope this is making sense. I think if I had the courage, I would be totally radical, but I PREFER to just fit in to what society expects of me, to how I ought to conform.

I dont know enough about astrology to explain this. Could be my moon, or it could be my Mars which along with Venus is also in Cappy.

P'haps they're just the "exclusively" Saturn-ruled, stick-in-the-mud Aquarians that Linda speaks about.

And maybe they had really conservative-y parents?
For instance, my husband *still giggles when she says "my husband"* has an Aqua Sun, Taurus Moon, Scorpp Asc, Cappie Merc, Aqua Venus, and Pisces Mars (the first of which...I dunno...might in themselves lend him to being slightly conservative), but he also has a Cancer Mom and a Cancer Sun, Cappie Moon, Virgo Asc. Dad...if that doesn't implant some conservatism, I don't know what will.

And/or if you go for cusps, he's only a 1 degree Aqua; I wonder how many of these others would fit within the first 5 degrees or so.

My Aqua friend is 1 degree Aqua so that may explain why he is so conservative. Or it could be his Pallas is opposite his sun, he always thinks he's right, very stubborn! But then again, I'm a Taurus, I think everyone is stubborn but me.

sthenri - Yeah, with Jase there're other factors, as well; his Saturn does the following:

Saturn in the Twelfth House
Saturn in Scorpio
Saturn Conjunct Pluto (by degree)
Moon Opposition Saturn
Sun Square Saturn
Mars Trine Saturn
Saturn Sextile Midheaven

and his Pluto does this:

Pluto in the 11th/12 House
Pluto in Scorpio
Saturn Conjunct Pluto (by degree)
Moon Opposition Pluto
Sun Square Pluto
Venus Trine Pluto
Mars Trine Pluto
Neptune Sextile Pluto
Pluto Sextile Midheaven

...that's gotta do something to a person's level of conservatism, y'know?

yeah, my mum is Aqua 1 dgr...but my bf is 22 dgr, plus Mercury and Mars in Aqua. But, there may be something in what someone said earlier: he may be afraid to be non-conservative. I remembered that when it's just us and I encourage him and I make the first "mistake" he become much more openminded and "relaxed".... It must be his Libra Asc that's pushing him to "please" everyone.

I have Aqua Asc, Uranus conj Moon and Nept conj Sag Mercury - I know one can hurt people or simply get herself into trouble when being too "natural".
