Dont know whether this is a silly question and the answer is basic. But why isnt Earth included in astrology as an influence in our charts with all the other plantets? Earth is another planet. Surely it has some influence?------------------ Joys Added - Sorrows Subtracted - Friends Multiplied - Love Un-Divided

Sure it is. Is called your rising sign, or ascendant. IP: Logged |

I gave this some more thought... and yes, Earth is the commonality we all share. Unless you were born on a space ship, and I'm pretty sure they aren't experimenting with pregnant women in space.....(proxie?) Your chart make-up consists of the placement of the planets in relation to the Earth, and where you are on it, at the time of your birth. So the Earth 'makes or breaks' a chart, and the planets influences ... that's pretty important! I guess it's more silent... a 'taken for granted' aspect. There isn't a symbol/glyph for earth, is there? I haven't ever seen one, but then I guess there's no need for one.IP: Logged |

EARTH The cross of matter contained within the circle of spirit is the a frequently usedsymbol for Earth. The glyph also has an interesting resemblance to the lens of a telescope, via which we view the rest of the universe from our Earthly abode. Thus, Earth, as our planet, is our real reference point in looking out upon the other planets. Another glyph for Earth, the upside-down Venus, implies matter over spirit. The fully rounded one we see more often indicates matter within spirit and spirit within matter, a description of the essence of our terrestrial lives.Hey Pixelpixie, look what I found http://finblake.home.mindspring.com/bfglyphs.htm This is another site that you might find useful, SunChild. http://www.kepler.edu/articles/astrology/oken.html IP: Logged |

No need to explain that to me, Sun Child, That's what comes with deep waters.... Deep, not shallow. Easy to grasp metaphysical, abnormal, out there concepts, but don't ask me to find something right in front of my face! I am too busy concentrating on bending that spoon!!!!*D'OH!!!!! Mr. Obvious strikes again!!!* IP: Logged |
