HI there, to the men or women who know,

What signs in men, like what kind of gifts?

i.e. Capricorn-books and plants?

Thank you from a clueless gift giver to men, I once gave my ex (Libra) a manual razor that stuck on the wall in the bathroom, with a plastic cup, he hated it and threw it out after one day.

For the men:

Taurus - LOVE anything having to do with epics.

Gemini - Novelty/kinky play stuff.

Cancer - A photo frame.

Leo - Something for their car.

Virgo - Obscure work by obscure artists.

Libra - Soft things to put against their body.

Scorpio - This one's tough... How about a Bonsai kit?

Sag - A cool casual shirt.

Capricorn - A quality bottle of wine.

Aquarius - An Orgami kit.

Pisces - Stuff with cartoon themes.

Aries - A gift certificate for a few lap dances.

Lap dances Gloria?
That's not very high minded of those Arians! I know a few and you are probably right.

So Capricorns like Wine? And Virgos like art?
I'll try that for an Aqua, it's worth a try.

I thought the Aries male gift was funny too! Being their female counter-part, I know it's suiting. Just make sure they're not in love with a girl because then they will think you are stupid and insulting.

... it has to be a pricey bottle, like $45 and up...

Virgo's like obscure stuff. Like obscure movies or books, or rare artifacts. This is so they can refer back to these things which they know the majority doesn't know about, which gives them a secret thrill...

Aqua's like unusual colors, and usually those Orgami kits have them. They also like angular things and using their hands in coordination with their mind. Best of all worlds. Orgami will calm their nerves down too, and then they've made something they can give to someone else!

To tell the truth, I don't think anybody likes what I give them.

Ah well. Live and learn I guess.

I always just ask for ideas. Then, I use their ideas as inspiration, but get them something else.

So, Natasha, the Libra is the "ex" now? How are you coping with that? Or are you talking about a different Libra?

Am I being too nosey?

My Virgo's all enjoyed referrence books or collecter's books, specific to an interest they have.

My ex was huge into online gaming, and I got him one of the cheat books for a certain game he was into....LOVED IT!

New guy is huge into antique airplanes and airforce history, etc. so I got him a book all about classic military planes....LOVED IT

I once read that when gift giving, you're better off to look at the Venus sign, though.

Cool subject!

Right on about Geminis and the kinky stuff...

lioneye, one of the books I have would agree with you about giving to the Venus sign. It also says take into consideration the sign on the 2nd house cusp. So there's another perspective that might be of value.

My second house cusp is Capricorn and yes I do appreciate a nice bottle of wine or something fancy like that, it doesn't have to be expensive though, just look thoughtful.

I think Virgos do like being unique.

Yes Lioneye, I am coping as well as I can. I still feel guilty when he's sick, but I couldn't take care of him forever. I wanted to but there are so many things in my life and I just felt I wasn't one of his priorities anymore. He said he loved me but he refused to take care of his health, and I didn't want him to have a triple bypass like his father.

His stepmother stuffs his father all the time with rich foods, I don't want to be like that. Plus I feel if he needed me he would make more of an effort to lose the weight and see a doctor. He is too stubborn. He won't compromise, my life will still be about commitment but now to other people. we were very well suited to each other and are friendly but I can't be the woman he really wants.

I was pretty sick myself in May and was stressed but I didn't get any support from him, instead he told me to stop whining and left the house. When he is sick I always take care of him, and I'm only sick once in a blue moon. It hurt my feelings.

Heh heh, yeah I'm poor, so when I "forget" someone's birthday they tend not to take these things personally. But I try and make up for it. I'm not good at making things either. I'm not good at much of anything really *sigh*

I'm sure there are great things about you, at least you remember birthdays! As long as your remember and notice, you are cool.

Aries-Anything they're passionate about (i.e. if the guyhas a certain hobby-go for that)
Taurus-Home cooked meal
Gemini-Try to work with something that may have been the topic of a converstaion you had, or a book or anything else that teaches them soemthing/helps them learn about a new interest.
Cancer-something authentic. This can either mean something home-made or an original (not mass-produced) item. Also movies.
Leo-Either something to enhance their image or something to bring out the little kitty inside (something sweet). Gifts that have worked for me-cologne, stuffed animal, drawings, movies, CDs...)
Virgo-haven't bought many gifts for Virgo men. I still have one here for a friend-it's a gag gift though. I agree witht he reference book idea-build on an already existing interest.
Libra-anything beautiful to enhance their home.
Scorpio-Hmm..depends on how close you are. Tecchie stuff is always good-something innovative and makes them feel ahead of the game.
Sag-Books, fun evenings/activities with friends
Capricorn-books, definitely books.
Aquarius-anything unusual that no one else has.
Pisces-not a clue. I would guess something trendy and funky/artisitic.

Geez, Natasha, I'm sorry to hear that. But I'm glad it was you who decided to end it, and your not all devastated over the break up and stuff. Dissappointed maybe, but not devastated. So you're a single gal again then, hey? How do you feel about that? Any interesting prospects?

Back to Gifts...Cancer's like gifts that capture an era they feel personally attached to, or remind them of something they have an emotional memory of. Like, for Christmas, I got my Dad, Taurus with a Cancer moon, a Chronology of our city newspaper, the Edmonton Joural, with pictures and newsclippings and ads going way back to 1903 when the paper first went into print, all the way up to today. It was quite expensive, hard cover, large book with glossy pages, like an Atlas or somthing. He didn't put that book down all night after he opened it. He grew up in this city, and he was just in a state of euphoria reading it! It was a perfect gift for him. I think he even got misty eyed looking at some of the old news articles and picture of our developing city....sniff. Sentimental ol' fool...you'd never guess that about him, that he was that sentimental, because he's so non-expressive, emotionally.

What a sweet gift Lioneye, he must have loved it. Yes I am secretly sentimental too. That must be your Venus in Virgo, being thoughtful.

Nope not romantically, friends yes, romance no. I can't promise anything right now. I am committed to trying to stay open to past friendships.

my leo guy friend loves techy gadgets or anything kinky, lol. something for the car is also a good idea.

my libra dad loves dvds and cash.

my leo mom loves anything and everything, as long as you remember her!

my cappy sister loves books, gift cards, and absolutely NO knickknacks to sit around and collect dust.

my cancer sister loves "weird" things, including toys, comic books...

edited because I am a perfectionist who cannot spell, lol.

For Aqua Men:

If'n I had to guess, go for something that fits their idiosyncratic habits or interests (they'll have one...or a few...); or, barring that, get them something they can fiddle with until their fingers go numb.
For example, one of the things that I got my husband for Christmas was a set of new heater boxes for his Bug (which covered both the hobby and the object-fixation). I presented them to him and he immediately began examining all of the valves and thingamabobs, all the while going, "Oohhhh, this is good...oh, this sticks some, but can be fixed..." settling down into half an hour of flicking various parts of the mechanism back and forth.

Heater boxes are (at least on an air-cooled VW engine) parts that capture some of the heat from the exhaust so that it may be used to heat the interior.

He has a VW Bug that he dearly loves:

^---Him when he was 17 and had just finished fixing Arcadia (her name) up

That's why I said that it that gift both served his eccentricity and his love of knocking and fiddling around (he installed them himself).

How cute, yes I like that too. I usually find gadgets are a big hit but I never know which one to buy, men like so many. Did he tell you what he wanted? Or do you like this kind of thing too?

My hubby's an Aquarius, Moon in Libra, with Scorpio Rising.
He like gizmos and gadgets, especially computer related, and video/computer games. He's a bit of a collector of certain comic books (please don't ask me names I can never remember them) and figurines of said comic books, and he's got a thing about Batman.
He also appreciates anything antique, especially furniture pieces and old, rare, hardcover books. Anything with an old-world explorer/Hemmingway feel really appeals to him, including fine wines and cigars.
He's quite a balance between the old and the new, and I think it's wonderful!

sthenri - Naw, I just knew that he needed them & that those'd be what he'd get the biggest kick out of.

Eleanore - I've noticed that, too re: my Aqua and vintage stuff in general.
Funny - I never would've figured.

Nawp - His Moon's Taurus and his Asc's 26 or 27 degrees Scorp.
(He does have a first house Uranus and Jupiter in Saggie, which I think give him that smile of his.)
