hey, everyone i am new to this site! i had a question that i have a hard time answering on my own and was wondering if anybody could give me some insights?! well, first off, i have my sun in cancer , moon in capricorn and acendant in scorpio(with pluto, saturn and south node rising in scorpio). Even though pluto is highly aspected in my chart, i feel that as i am geting older i am becoming more and more arien. i am not a typical crab girl at all. i am often described as impulsive ,careless with money, blunt and spontaneous, rebellious and , easily bored, and yadda yadda yadda. the thing is, i don't have a single planet in aries. however, i do have a strong sun-mars conjunction in my 9th house, and my mars also aspects, jupiter, saturn and uranus.
is it my sun-mars conjunction that gives me the arien flavor, or is it my pluto on the asc in scorpio? i'm a little confused because i know that socrpio and aries are both ruled and co ruled by mars and pluto.any insights would be greatly appreciated!! thanks!

dear passionfruit,
Its the mars conjunct sun in the 9th house giving you the arien and sagitarian color{ sag house}. mars here is boisterous, competitive and goes to the heart of the matter when adressing problems. In all fairness it is usually a good sport and a lot of fun.
plutos energy on the other hand is very diffrent and much scarier, where as mars attacks the problem immediatly, pluto is usually long term and profound.
example: Christopher Reeve, hes got pluto conjunct his asc. and look at the changes hes been through in the last 10 years or so. His life has been turned upside down by circumstances beyond his control, thats pluto. Also pluto is the ruler of your asc strong aspect especially if it is in the 1st house instead of the 12th this will color the way you look, your veneer so to speak. Hope this helps in your road to discovery.

passion,

Mars is more like action and Pluto is transformation. Having the conjunct reinforces your Cancer nature, but flavors your personality with a bit of Sag because is rules the 9th house. I have my Sun in the 4th house, which is ruled by Cancer. I have NO cancer tendencies, but I do have an attachment to home, family and tradition - yet I am a strong Sag living about 2000 miles away from my family.

Cancer women can be everything you just described. My mom is a Cancer with a Cancer moon. She is flighty, easily distracted, she hates working - but knows she had to do it - etc... She also has a Scorp rising, but that just lends more flavor.

Pulto conjunct ascendant will bring about many changes and transformations in your life. To the point where people might even say 'Wow you look totally different". You also have the luxury of a trine with your pluto / Ascendant and Sun / Mars. That's a good thing, because it makes you more integrated, but it can also cause you to take those gifts for granted. Like just taking it for granted that you can get things done, so you just kind of let them fall to the way side.

Now you may be experiencing some of the Martian qualities of Aries due ot the conjunction. So that you are more "driven" but that would cause you not to be as 'Flighty' or "easily distracted". Aries is about moving, intiating, getting involved.

Does this make sense?
