I've noticed that most love relationships have a Sun venus conjunction either in synastry or composite. What's your take on that? is it necessary to have one in order to love eachother?

Not at all. There are several aspects, and house placements that are indicative of a great love relationship.

That is not to say that a Sun/Venus conjunction isn't a good aspect, it is. Just not the only positive aspect.
