They say it's been nearly hitting us for a long time, but only this time they actually spotted it just before... Apparently there's a LOT of stuff like that out there.

Closest approach Thursday, March 18th, 5:30pm EST, @ a mere 26,500 miles from Earth. Might be able to see with binnoculars.

Jupiter's gravitational pull generally deflects the larger objects from the Earth (truly making it the Planet of good fortune). If an object were to be directly in our way, maybe we would have a little help from our friends.

I heard that in the eighties there was a meteor or something like that that almost hit the earth - I mean it was on the direct path and if it had come past 6 hours earlier we would have been hit. Apparantly it missed us by 6 hours. 6 the number that vibrates to love .

There's near misses happening virtually on a regular basis. Like Randall said, Jupiter is our number one shield, deflecting all the junk which would have prevented sustained life on Earth.

This asteroid might have even disintegrated in the upper atmosphere before doing severe damage. That's the other thing, if they are small...

But hey, we all know the day will come... How big and bad, how widespread the damage, who knows...

Jupiter is a wonderful planet, I have a Sag rising and I deflect a lot of garbage too.

Love your fellow Jupiterians, they do more than you could ever know,

Where will it hit? do we know?

Are you asking where it will hit Natasha?
