I know a long while ago, Carlo introduced the idea of writing "Connecting with your opposite" poetry.
Does anyone have any insights or poetry to share about connecting with any sign at all? I know we have so many talented knowflakes here, so I thought it would be nice to open a thread to help others trying to connect with a particular sign..or just to share. Poetry is such a beautiful medium to get your passions out.
It needs a thread of it's own. Any takers?

Pixie, I understand where you are coming from, there are lots of poetry threads on the web, do you want me to post to a few not just my own? The reason is that I am building a website devoted to my art and poetry and it's not finished yet. In the meantime, I can post poems but it's hard to monitor that and the site at the same time.

Do you want poetry of any kind, by others too? I tend to love all kinds, but if i post another poets poem, I will give credit.

What do you think, are we open to sharing not only our own but works by other people too? Because a lot of my poems are inspired by the great works flowing around on Yahoo Poetry groups for example.

Typical Taurus trying to get the rules down.

Long time no see -

I should write a "Libra to Libra" poem. "Shangra-La".

Absolutely!!! Libra on Libra!!! Fabulous! ( And interchangeable!)

No Rules, just an idea. I would love to hear works by yourself, or others, anything!!!
Let's share!!! Make the rules as we go....
Rule #1; NO RULES!!!!

\Poem: "Song," by John Ciardi, from The War Poets (John Day).

Song

"The bells of Sunday rang us down
And flowers were blowing across the town
Through faucets of the sun turned on.

For Mary's giggle and Martha's glance
The bankrolls flashed from pants to pants,
The Captain did a Highland dance.

Oh, there were troops in every door,
And liquor spilled on every floor,
And when the sun became a bore

We turned it off and hung a star,
For we were beautiful and far
And all the papers spoke of war.

And all night long from window sills
The Angels beckoned and the bills
Of visors turned and made their kills.

We burned like kisses on the night,
And talented and drunk and bright
We shed ourselves in colored light.

Because the train was at the gate,
And clocks were closing down the date,
And all seas were running late."

That one feels like Spring,

Natasha

this poem makes me think of the phrase "where do you end, and I begin?"

Japan

Today I pass the time reading
a favorite haiku,
saying the few words over and over.

It feels like eating
the same small, perfect grape
again and again.

I walk through the house reciting it
and leave its letters falling
through the air of every room.

I stand by the big silence of the piano and say it.
I say it in front of a painting of the sea.
I tap out its rhythm on an empty shelf.

I listen to myself saying it,
then I say it without listening,
then I hear it without saying it.

And when the dog looks up at me,
I kneel down on the floor
and whisper it into each of his long white ears.

It's the one about the one-ton temple bell
with the moth sleeping on its surface,

and every time I say it, I feel the excruciating
pressure of the moth
on the surface of the iron bell.

When I say it at the window,
the bell is the world
and I am the moth resting there.

When I say it at the mirror,
I am the heavy bell
and the moth is life with its papery wings.

And later, when I say it to you in the dark,
you are the bell,
and I am the tongue of the bell, ringing you,

and the moth has flown
from its line
and moves like a hinge in the air above our bed.

Wow, I loved the composition of the last one. Simple, direct and stunning.
Thanks for sharing.
