Which signs are the most musical? And i'm not talking lip-synch masters...

I know a lot of singer-songwriters are geminis and aries, but do any signs stand out as supposedly more musically inclined?

I have read that most Taurus have a singing ability.
I have noticed that a majority of singers are other Gemini or a have Gemini rising.

I'd have to say based on my top 3 favorite singer/songwriters, Virgo, Libra & Scorpio. (but I'm also strongly influenced by these planetary energies within my own Natal chart)...

I would have said EXACTLY the same thing myself!
(In fact, a little while ago I mused on posing a thread along almost exactly similar lines!...Are YOU an Aries (with Moon in Pisces - by any chance???)

Oh yeah, we Aries are musical all right, something that is rarely touched on in astrological literature...perhaps because we like making NOISE so much...
In fact, I'd name the first three signs of the zodiac as being the most musically inclined. Taureans are talented musicians too - and so are Librans...in a very refined sort of way...must be the Venus effect...

Close- Aries sun, Cancer moon. (although I'd much rather have moon in pisces than cancer...)

It sounds very "aries" to add their own sign to the most talented list. However I did a bit of researching and there are quite a few...

My favorite singers/songwriters would have to be a Taurus sun/Pisces moon, a Pisces sun/Pisces moon, and a Sag sun/Aries moon. I can't recall ever getting into any musicians with Gemini influences but the Aries thing shows up a lot for sure.

What about Cancer? Just in my own life, I have noticed Cancer.
I sing and write, I am a Scorp.

Maybe musical ability is a commonality, with no one true answer. As I know often, in reading interpretations, it is alot of aspects which make for good musical/art ability. Venus nicely aspected, for instance.
Plus, true talent might be inborn, but really, anyone can learn to play. Practice practice practice.

Just for the record, does anyone here play an instrument?
I write/record avant-garde/folk-inspired popular songs - just for a bit of creative fun! I only play keyboard now, partly because there is so much more scope with different sound effects etc. and you don't need to go and learn a whole new instrument - but I've played (with varying degrees of success)keyboard, guitar (acoustic, bass, electric), violin, viola, drumkit, xylophone & other percussion...the list goes on. Never a brass instrument. I was forbidden from learning the trumpet(!!!).
A brother of Kate Bush's once said that as a musician who indulges in lots of repetitive practising, you frequently get things thrown at you. Well, that hasn't happened to me yet - nor have I been sat on (although it's come close - a few times).

I have a gemini rising and I'm really into art and singing...and bunch of stuff.

I think our perfectionist side gets in the way a lot and makes it harder for us to be more creative and stress out about things that arent really worth worrying bout.

Ariesrocks: I can't see I've got any of the aspects you mention!
But I do consider myself to have songwriting ability!!!
Rhythm? Oh God, yes! In a kind of pagan, Celtic, wild-woman sort of way. And I love interesting melodies, playing around with song structure, trying to create something altogether different.
I have Mars CJ Saturn in Gemini, plus Sun and Mercury in Aries - maybe that has something to do with musical ability? One thing, though, I do find the melodies a lot easier to write than the words. I do find it hard to be really CREATIVE with words. Competent, yes; creative - well, I need to put a little more effort in than those who are genuinely talented in that regard.
A few Aries musicians, before I go: J.S.Bach, Joseph Haydn, Sergei Rachmaninov, Bela Bartok, Miklos Rosza (wrote music to "Ben-Hur"), Elton John, Eric Clapton, Diana Ross, Agnetha Faltskog (Abba).

Virgo: I have Virgo rising. So yes, I could agree with the theory that maybe there's a Mercury, as well as Venus influence in creativity.
I think Virgo lends structure to creativity, enables the crafting of good ideas into something great - files, sorts and patiently works until - voila! PERFECT!

Hey - I forgot about Leo - they're pretty musical:
Kate Bush, Madonna (okay, maybe not strictly singer!), Mick Jagger, Kristin Hersh.
Gemini: Igor Stravinsky, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Artist Formerly Known As Prince.
And Capricorns also seem to be gifted - Elvis Presley, Robert Palmer, Susanna Hoffs & Vicki Petersen from the Bangles.
