Uranus is going "retrograde" for the next 5 months! In Pisces from June 10 to November 11
Generally speaking, Uranus is the planet of the unexpected. It's the so-called 'wild card' of the planets. And when Uranus is in retrograde, pleasant and not so pleasant surprises may occur. Totally out-of-the-blue situations can result. It can reduce a beehive of activity down to a standstill or turn organized surroundings upside down. Uranus retrograde can be felt internally as well. Temporary personality shifts are not uncommon during a Uranus retrograde. You may feel a sense of unleashing, letting go of your inhibitions, or the urge to rebel. Uranus in retrograde can cause a boisterous party animal to unexpectedly experience wallflower shyness. Uranus retrograde is all about sudden changes, oscillation, inspiration, flashes of truth, eccentricity, deviance, originality, rebellion, and the need for freedom. Among the many things affected are Chi, electricity, astrology, electronics, healing arts of acupuncture, reiki and Feng Shui. IP: Logged |

I found this here; http://karma.astrology.com/retrogrades3.html?arrivalSA=1&cobrandRef=0&arrival_freqCap=2 Uranus Uranus is quite far from the Sun, and thus it takes a full 84 years for this planet to orbit the star at the solar system's center. A Uranian year is so long that this planet remains in each Sign of the Zodiac for about seven years. The stationary period for Uranus is two weeks, and its retrograde lasts for about five months out of every Earth year. In general, when Uranus is in retrograde, we should expect the unexpected. Surprises pop out from every corner and this can be either marvelous or startling, depending on the situation. Uranus is the Wild Card of the Planets; it can bring drastic whims and shifts that amaze and bemuse. A Uranus retrograde could bring unexpected effects that could yield the complete opposite or even no change at all. During this time, chaos may be present either externally in the outside world or internally within the individual.
Uranus retrograde may set your wild side free or it could make a notoriously outgoing person uncharacteristically shy. Straight-laced school marms may suddenly be dancing on top of pianos and effervescent party types may suddenly feel more comfortable, calmly relaxing in a hot bath. Explosions in your personality are not uncommon; you may behave differently than other people perceive you.

I've been coming back and forth to this site for years...I know very little (how about nada...about astrology...I just loved Sun Signs so I was thinking about Linda one day and to make a long story short...here I am...)My first Astrological Basic question What does retrograde mean?? Why is it bad??

Retrograde is when a planet appears to be going backwards in the sky. It's not necessarily bad...though communications can be unreliable during a Mercury retrograde. Merc Rx is also not a good time to buy major appliances, etc. But it's best not to get too worried about it. Just expect the unexpected. Uranus went Rx yesterday (the 10th) and will remain so until November 11th at 2:11 p.m. EST. IP: Logged |

Oh no!Check this out... Retrograde Uranus is transiting right over my Chiron. AND Chiron is transiting right over my Saturn. Also at this time - Mars is transiting my Moon And then The Sun, Mercury & Venus are transiting my 1st House. And with Jupiter transiting over my Venus.... NO WONDER what's been happening has been happening!!! I revealed all my security needs to my guy friend (a rarity for me to do with a guy, IF EVER). Hope Jupiter transiting my Natal Venus plays my cards like lucky lady because it's basically out of my hands now. I showed my entire hand. trillian, Wow, thanks for that exact info. about those dates.
I think it will indeed be very, very interesting to see what happens within the next several months now. Uranus is my ruling planet in the sense that it rules my Sun Sign of Aqua.
I better look where I'm going with this expect the unexpected thing happening.

Greetings...I know I often take on the role of the opinionated astrologer BUT, here I go again... NOTHING that was said in either of those articles describes anything about the retrograde nature of Uranus. All of that stuff about expect the unexpected and all the other hoo-ha is all TRUE about URANUS when direct... so what would be the difference? Uranus is ALWAYS "about sudden changes, inspiration, flashes of Truth" and all that other stuff that those articles mention. I generally tell people that unless they are adepts, the outer planet retrogrades are fairly nil in impact on us. They spend much of their time retrograde. I think the retrogrades of the inner planets are much more impactful on a general level than the outer retrogrades. But that is just MY experience. Remember.. the Soul is a part of God/Goddess. The planets can never truly create mischief unless we allow them to. It is always our Free Will Choice, as Linda would say... Just a thought from the opinionated astrologer. In the Light... And astrology doesn't define you...AND if someone has strong Aquarius or Uranus infuences going on in their Natal, then whether R, S or D, Uranus DOES matter. It's not even a matter of theological debate because I've observed it firsthand, and that's enough for me. IP: Logged |

Hi Gloria, So, I have a scenario for you to please speculate on if / when you can....
Picture a guy who is not so committed to his marriage, like I'm talking half-in it and half-out of it, and he's going into this Retrograde AND....
he has nothing less than his Sun, his Venus, AND his Juno ALL ruled by your friend and mine named....
Uranus....
being that all of these planets / asteroids reside in the Sign of Aqua for him.
Do you personally think that we could possibly be looking at a major crack-up of his marriage here?
Thanks for your time and speculation!

Astro junkie...I didn't say Uranus doesn't matter. What I said was that the info that was posted about the Rx Uranus didn't sound any different from what can be said about Uranus direct. Look at those articles yourself and tell me that it sounds any different? Uranus Rising is often times better described by the Saturn as in traditional astrology... it moves faster. Just voicing an opinion based on my own experience.. but I'm also pretty much into traditional, medical and horary astrology. The modern psycho-babble school doesn't do much for me personally. I think the Outer planets are VERY important, but more so if they aspect the personal points: Sun/Moon/Merc/Venus/Mars and Ascendant (and its ruler) and MidHeaven and its ruler. No personal affront meant... In the Light... The opinionated astrologer... A ------------------ "The ALL is MIND; the Universe is Mental." *** The Kybalion IP: Logged |

Playful -yes (could) I'm not sure how much the Uranus R has affected you, if you've noticed anything. But I DEFINATELY noticed it on cue. In a major and comforting way, as a matter of fact. And no, it was NOT due to a placibo effect. I had no idea Uranus was going R. So I've got to tread through all my muddied intuitive water to try to put into words. Aquarius literally IS chaos, but it's energy does not change. Does that make sense? Aqua rules electricity, and you cannot change or contain electricity. You can only make use of it. ENcourage or DIScourage it's magnitude through your natural electrical and magnetic body, via the intellect as well as your soul. So for someone who has strong Aqua influences and are more accustomed to and familiar with "chaos", it's seems more like Belushi's crazy azz Animal House party abandoned their fraternity house, only to move the whole bam party over to another location. No biggie. It gives the neighbors by the original location (hemispheres of the brain) a little rest, and initiates a lot of new buzzing activity for a new set of neighbors. That's why above, it was said that it can make a regularly boisterous person totally shy. The energy has shifted to alternate hemispheres of the brain, but the energy in and of itself has NOT changed. Our PERCEPTION has changed, therefore creating a new paradigm, to which we react or respond, therefore, resulting in the unexpected (for better or worse). IP: Logged |

In my opinion, the affects of Uranus going retro depends upon the house or houses involved, and any aspects it makes and remakes to natal plants and points. One person may have Uranus retro back out of the 1st house into the 12th house and then back into the 1st when Uranus goes direct. They may also have Uranus making powerful aspects three times; the first one direct, then retro and then direct again. The point is that the affects of Uranus retro on individuals varies greatly depending upon their natal chart. Comparing experiences is like comparing apples and oranges to some respect, without knowing each natal chart involved. Again this is just my opinion. Lanny IP: Logged |

Gloria, Yes, I was thinking about that as well.
Like maybe, because Uranus already offers chaotic effects to a person, a Retrograde of it might actually REVERSE the typical effects of it's own chaos of it on a person. Like, if this guy already has issues with commitment due to his various Uranus placements, then as a result....
a Retrograde could really end up possibly making him feel more settled in for a brief spell or something, who knows?
Oh well, we shall see, I guess.
Thanks so much for your input here!

The outer planets are retrograde about 40% of the time in natal charts, so it is common for astrologers to take a generational view of their interpretations, whether Rx or Direct.IP: Logged |

Well, my Uranus influenced friend just got put on temporary status for his job. Thank you, Mr. Uranus....Lol
But seriously, how do I find out exactly what House his Uranus is transiting through right now?
I don't follow all of that transit activity yet myself.
Thanks for the assistance.

I know, I just started to dip into Transits in general a few months ago, and I feel more comfortable with it now.Just go to the EXTENDED CHART section in astro.com, insert his birth info, and from the drop down menu on the left, choose NATAL CHART & TRANSITS. IP: Logged |
