Linda said in her book "Sun Sign" that the planet vulcan, true ruler of virgo, will be discovered in a couple of years. Its been a long time since she has said that. How come it hasnt been discovered yet....IP: Logged |

It seems that many scientists and astrologers thought it existed because there was a planet wobbling, so something out there had to be producing that pull. But this was before the planet Neptune was discovered.I found this article which gives you some history on the planet Vulcan, and even mentions Linda Goodman::: www.csicop.org/si/9801/hines.html Here's an article with a photograph of possibly Vulcan::: www.space.com/scienceastronomy/astronomy/epsilon_vulcan_000804.html And here's some of the mythological story behind Vulcan::: www.occultopedia.com/h/hephaestus.htm IP: Logged |

The sad fact though, is that when Vulcan is discovered, we won't have Linda's wisdom about it.IP: Logged |

Pixie -What do you mean? We already have her words. She's a time traveler, and in Spirit, so she's seen everything, and so will we eventually. IP: Logged |

Linda said that the planets have no effect until they are discovered...doesn't that kind of make vulcan not able to affect virgos then? What is virgo's ruler until vulcan is discovered? IP: Logged |

Mercury...it shares it with GeminiBut, there are those who are beginning to advocate Chiron as being Virgo's true ruler. Chiron's archetype and the mythology associated with it certainly does seem fitting for the vibration of Virgo. But, it's not actually a planet, it's an astroid, so many others dispute this theory because of that. Let me see what I can find on Chiron. IP: Logged |

Yes, and she also wrote about the name of a planet which was supposed to be the true ruler of Taurus, since it shares Venus with Libra. But you never know if when she was speaking about such objects that maybe she was channeling, or doing a form of channeling, in order for the names to come to her. If THAT is the case, then perhaps the mystery is yet to be figured out. I'm trying to remember what I've read about Chiron being too different than Virgo influences, but I know had to do with their "speeds". Chiron moves very slowly, but Virgo has more to do with immediate day-to-day matters. And maybe, Chiron shows up where in our life we seek to heal the most, but Virgo won't tell you that. Virgo would deal with "details", and since Chiron is still being considered important in Synastry in terms of potential romance, Virgo is not yet evolved into a sign which relates "to others". Libra is the first sign to do that. .gloria ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |

If i may add something.I feel that if one studies mythology, they might associate vulcan, or haephestious with the sign Virgo. VIrgo as a sign, being a perfectionist, needing everything orderly and proper, comes due to a fear of others finding his/her flaws. So to cover these so called "flaws" virgo devotes their time to acheive perfection. Likewise, vulcan, who was shunned out by the gods for his "flaws", was cursed to live in the volcano, where he made the "perfect" weapons and artifacts for the gods, in the hope that he would be accepted by them again. Another angle to look at: Virgo criticizes everyone, to cover his/her own flaws and weak points. They are their worst critics and henceforth they secretly mourn their imperfections. Hence comes the humility and service that their corresponding house (6th) stands for (among other things). For a mate, virgo has predetermined fantasies of an ideal lover, if their lover doesnt match up, they work at it (or Nag) so that their lover becomes their "ideal lover" However, the virgin is patient and shall wait for the perfect love to come to him/her, and shall refrain from temptation, as their "virginity" belongs to the one they consider the love of their life. However, if they cannot fulfill their lovers needs and urges, they step back and sometimes let their lovers frolick and have numerous daliances, while they end up ... barefoot-pregnant(the she virgins)-kitchen. If you look at Vulcan's love life, he longs for Venus... he waited for her to find out his feelings... and when she did they wed... however he couldnt satisfy her needs and urges, hence she had incestuous relations with her brother mars, and other gods and mortals... Vulcan watched and wept, but never once complained... (remember, only virgo can bear their lovers the most)... its only when zeus saw what was happening did he chop of venus's arms and gave the power of love to Cupid, or eros... and told venus that the power of beauty shall come when she realizes it. Vulcan took care of venus (now venus di-millo) and through such purity in his love, did venus see how truly beautiful he was from within, and that external beauty is weak as compared to internal beauty... that is when she got back the power of beauty... the power of love stayed with cupid..coz.. lets face it... baby's know that love had no bounds. Hence... Virgo's true ruler should be Vulcan... and vulcan shall be discovered... before Pan-Horus ofcource and Cassandra

I liked that Cassandra. Yeah, the mythology is definitely a place where we all need to start when it comes to these questions. I wasn't sure what you meant by "... only Virgo can bear their lovers the most ..." I would've thought that would be the all-mighty MUTABLE Pisces... Or maybe I misunderstood what you meant by that, but you brought up some extremely well-thought out points, and reminds me of a past thread which I want to bump up... Thanks. .gloria ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |

I unterstand your dilema gloria, i used to think that way as well... but then, this is what i thought when i wrote that post.Pisces is uberly mutable...agreed, but remember in the Taurus/Pisces chapter, in the dialogue, the pisces woman just vanished away from her over bearing taurus lover...symbolizing the escapism pisces and the 12th house is known for. Virgo on the other hand is more steadfast..and would indeed stay on and "serve" their lover... hence i made that statement. and Cassandra

OH! Ok - I can see that. The thing that made me wonder on the Virgo side was, if Virgo was to become too critical of the situation and bolt. That type of thing.Oh, and the thread I was going to bump up, could not find, so but, it had occurred to me the other day when someone mentioned a Virgo woman w/ an Aries Man, and later I remembered two rather "famous" ones right now, which kind of describes what you're saying. Let's see, without being too blatant here - (*** she just had her second child with him, but he's "engaged" to a famous pop star***) Yeah, so I'm thinking, between that, and Jada Pinkett's separation from Will (she's also a MEGA Virgo), and now the thread I just added regarding the Culkin kid... something's going on with Virgo's MOST DEFINITELY, and it is possible with all these strong bombardment of Virgo transits lately, that we should keep an eye out for what could be the discovery of Virgo's true (or new) ruler. Virgo women shouldn't be so down, and I'm a Libra, but I have strong Virgo & 6th House influences. Luckily I have some good Scorpio influences to pick up the Virgo before it reaches the edge of the cliff, but then that rascally Pisces & Neptune influences swing around ... *sigh* IP: Logged |

LIke how much can the polar sign of your sunsign, being the acendant, dilute the effects of typicallness of one's sun sign. I have sun in virgo and asc. as Pices. Is there NE1 else out there that has this same dilema that being your asc is the polar opposite if ur sun sugn? How could we fess up to missing a planet such as Vulcan being right next to the sun what with our technology. Wouldn't it trully make perfect sense to shun Vulcan from public arenas? The U.S. has all available technology to find a lost planet. I believe it's there, and it will pulse on. AS above so below. IP: Logged | |
