I have natal Saturn in the 7th house and have always dated and been attracted to older guys. Not old man old but right around my age or a bit older. I think Saturn in this placement makes this so.
It has always been a turn off, for me when I find out a guy is younger than me. I know, I'm discriminating. Has anyone else with strong Saturn themes related to the 7th or 5th house notice this.

My "old man" is 7 years older than me. (he's 33) Oldest guy I've been with. It's not that big of a difference, I know. Although you could never tell by looking at him. He looks much younger, maybe its Leo in his 1st. He has Cancer rising, but it's at 29 degrees, so the whole sign of Leo is in his 1st.

Which brings me to another point. I'm Cap. rising. I've read that two people in a relationship with opposing rising signs, have somewhat of a magnetic attraction towards one another. They often make each other feel complete or whole. It is also found in alot of marriages. These people often feel it is very hard to seperate from each other, even when they want to. Anyone else noticed this?

Saturn is the Ruler of my chart, with Cap. rising. So where Saturn is placed has much importance for me in this lifetime. I know I have many lessons to learn in the relationship department. They are also very important to me, and they are not usually easy. I don't enter into a relationship without alot of serious thought about it - don't take it lightly. For most people I think this is true, but even more so for people with this placement.

I have to say, I've always been a lone wolf. Even though of course I had relationships throughout my life - I've usually prefered being alone. Love alone time. I've read this placement shows someone who in past livetimes has shut themself off from society too much (something I've contemplated on doing alot ) And they now MUST interact with others.

I've also read that the sign on the cusp of your 7th house is what you look for in a partner, and any planets placed there color this also. It is also how YOU act in a partnership. I find it interesting having Cancer on this cusp, showing I'm looking for a mother in a mate. And also act motherly in partnerships. And with Saturn in this house - Saturn represents the Father - showing I'm looking for a mother and a father in a mate??? My Mars is in the 7th too. Both Mars and Saturn being in Leo in my case. I've definitly had my share of Martian type mates. And also BEEN the Mars type of mate. If you are not acting out the energies of your 7th house - your partner will - I'm told. And have found to be true.

Saturn is where we have many lessons to learn. Our karma is here. It is a focal point in our lives that is usually very "heavy".

Also Saturn will start its transit of my 7th house at the end of July. Feels like the lessons ol' Saturn has been givin' me my whole life are gonna start getting heavier.
Anyone going through a transit of Saturn in the 7th now, or recently? Wish me luck.

I'd love to hear any thoughts on any of this.

I have also been attracted to older guys. Younger guys are a turn off for me. And usually things always end in heartbreak this way But I think a lot of it, with me, is a psychological thing. I grew up without ever knowing about my biological father. I have a love-hate relationship with my ex-stepdad whom I am living with now.

I believe Saturn rules relationship with the father? I have Saturn in 4th house which often shows up in people who have had absence of father/or have been abandoned by their fathers. I am not sure what other aspects in my chart indicate my fascination with older men. Is there anyone who could shed light on this?

I was attracted to older men in the past but that changed. I have Gemini in the 7th, and so stability is important to me. Now I am leaning more towards emotional stability, and intelligent company.

I'm the opposite. Don't like older guys, even if they are one year older. It's nothing to do with anything specific. It's just a bad vibe for me.

I have no idea what influences that. Maybe my Moon in Cancer Opposite Saturn in Capricorn? Or Moon Sextile Asc? Or Saturn trine Asc?

Dunno...

But the attraction is mutual, and THEY (the younger guys) are the ones who are busting the moves. Very mutual.

Every guy I've ever connected with has been older. I just don't seem to hit it off with younger guys

My Saturn is also in the 7th house, in Capricorn- as are my Uranus and Neptune, which are all also in the 7th house. I've never really thought of the concept of older men considering I'm only fifteen, but I've always been a bit squicked of the idea of going out with younger people.

I have a pretty big Capricorn influence in my chart since I have a stellium in it, my Saturn is in it, and my sun is in the tenth house, so I really understand what you mean by needing time alone. It's not that I go out of my way to not be around people- I don't hiss at people when they approach me- on the contrary, I consider myself pretty friendly- but I just like the feeling of being alone.

I do think Antonio Banderas and Johnny Depp are more appealing than most young celebrities though .

Interesting ...

Antonio is a Leo with Venus in Virgo (Earth), and Saturn in Capricorn

Johnny is a Gemini with a Cappy Moon, and Venus in Taurus (Earth)

Hey, no fair, school's out for the summer ! Hee, yes, oh wise aunties, I will go to bed early for now on! That is- if I get my warm milk and a teddy bear!

Wow, what a coinky-dink astro junkie. Astrology just gets more amazing everyday, eh?

Lalalinda- I'm just glad I got to start young, it's a lot more interesting than anything we learn in school. Well, maybe besides English.

Thanks 26taurus- it's one of my favorite quotes =).

So, people with Saturn in the 7th house usually marry late? Hmm, what about people with Neptune and Uranus in the 7th house in addition to Saturn? I hear having Uranus in the 7th house usually makes you have unconventional ideas about marriage, which is pretty true in my case.

Hi,

I also have Saturn in the 7th in Leo(along with Jupiter). And like you 26taurus, I am attracted to older guys only. Younger guys (even 1 yr younger) seem too immature to me. I have always been attracted to mature guys with a good head on their shoulders. And i take relationships very very seriously!

With that logic, do you think Saturn in the 1st would attract younger men? My sister has Saturn conjunct her ascendant in Aries and she likes Scorpio men that are very much into being the child in a Mother/Child relationship.
In other words she likes to control things.

Everlong -

Here's a ton of info:::

Uranus in 7th

Neptune in 7th

Natasha -

I had to say, remember that a man's age has nothing to do with who's in control or if it's mother/child relationship - hee hee - and just had to say since I do only date younger guys, it's NOT because I think I'm old and wiser. It's just a mutual thing. The idea of a lover being clingy, or of regressive behavior, is SCARRRRYYYY to me. Through the years, I've often observed it's easier for me to have that "brotherly friend" vibe with younger guys. I'm able to be, (or feel) more independent. Older guys are more into the "old school" romance, wanting to pin me down right away.

I think that's an interesting question about Saturn in the 1st for a woman, and if she ends up with younger guys, opposite of a 7th House Saturn. Well, here's some stuff, see what you all can extrapolate from it:::

Hey Everlong--Johnny Depp is young! It's all a matter of perception. Old to you, but just right for me. He He.
Lalinda land - I never heard that Saturn in the 7th house means marrying "well" ---That would be great if it's so. I'm 40 and still not married - I take relationships very seriously.

26Taurus - I recall reading somewhere that if you have Saturn in the 7th house that you should be careful not to marry before your first Saturn return otherwise it will be a marriage where you learn alot the hard way and your marriage could crumble. Or maybe it was something about Chiron?? I could be wrong. Can anyone else verify this??

Kat,
Very perceptive, actually what I meant is that Capricorn doesn't always marry for love. They could marry for money or status.
So Capricorn rules Saturn and in Capricorn or with Saturn conjunct Venus in Capricorn anythings possible. See where I'm gong with this? Theres a lot to consider, Capricorn (saturn) wants to make logical decisions not emotional ones.

My brother has Moon and Chiron in the 7th and he is seeing a woman 20 years older than him (which the family hates). We just hope he won't marry her LOL! Seems to be a relationship based on $$ though so hopefully it won't last. Taurus/Aries in 7th.

Hi all,

Just wanted to jump in here and quote a reply that I recieved back from a well known name in astrology. It is important for us Saturn in the 7th's to know.

I was asking for her observations on Saturn in the 7th and successfullness of marriages before the Saturn return and such. I was getting a little worried, and wanted some more insight.

quote:
Statistically, half of all marriages fail, wherever you Saturn is. Early marriages may be a bit shakier, and pre-Saturn return people are under 30, so that may tip the scale a percentage or two. Saying that most 7th house Pre-Saturn return people will surely divorce is a ridiculous and destructive belief. It isn’t observable in my data base, and my data base is huge. Whoever purports this bit of misinformation perhaps needs to do some review.

Where Saturn is in the natal chart is where we take things seriously, where we feel tested, run into our dark shadows, where we find our vulnerability, self-disgust and also our greatest potential, ambition and goals. It can be a place of great failure and great achievement, the operant word is GREAT. Where Saturn resides, things are terribly important. Why? Because that is the area of life were we meet the ways and means of finding inner wholeness, inner completion. Saturn in the 7th says DON’T LOOK FOR INNER PEACE AND COMPLETION IN A PARTNER, LOOK FOR IT IN YOURSELF.

When 7th house Saturn people get that, they form some pretty amazing relationships, reflections of their own self-development. That can happen at the first Saturn opposition (age 14), the second square (21) the first return 29ish) or NEVER! It’s up to the individual. Does this make sense?

Well this makes me feel a little better. I hope it helps some of you too.

That is odd. I am also a Taurus with a Cap. rising. Cancer is on the cusp of my Seventh also with Saturn and Mars placed there in Leo. I was born in 1978. I am currently very attracted to someone 11 years my senior who could be mistaken for much younger. That is very interesting.

Saturn in the first likes to be the Daddy/Mommy and fuss over the partner from what I have seen lately from my current beau. It comes from low self esteem in childhood, and a need for control and a a really steady partner. One who totally adores and who is babylike, and sometimes sexless.

29. It's interesting to find someone else with those planets in the seventh. Even better that you have the same signs. I might have to pick your brain.
