What is the difference between a true node and a north and south node?

Is it common to have both true nodes of partners be in each other's IC? (I wanted to faint when I saw that)

How about if my partner's part of marriage is conjunct my moon, and saturn, and in the 5th house?

And if my part of marriage falls in his 8th house?

Does it mean anything if his part of marriage is in his IC, and my part of marriage is conjuct my MC?

What if his part of karma is in my IC conjunct my jupiter?

What if my own part of karma, part of fortune, pluto, and vertex (they are all conunct in libra in my natal), is conjunct his jupiter, saturn, and pluto? (except my pluto is not conjunct his saturn but conjunct jupiter and pluto)

what is a vertex?

His vertex is in my 7th house. My vertex is in his 5th house.

Any clues? It hard to find 411 on the web about this stuff...

Hi pisces girl,

I'll let some of our other astrowhizzes answer the other questions. But I want to answer your question on the vertex. But this will be short. Because I have to go catch a movie. I'm going to see Far. 911.

Anyway, in one of the issues of the Mountain Astrologer magazine, that I get (fab. mag. by the way) There was a spectacular article on the vertex.

First of all, the vertex is ALWAYS on the western side of the chart, it almost always falls somewhere between the 5th and 8th houses. The arena of your most fated relationships and run-ins is strongly associated with the affairs of the house containing the vertex.

The woman who wrote this article only saw a couple of exceptions to this. When the vx fell in the 4th or 9th house in a few charts. Mostly it is always in the 5, 6th, 7th or 8th house.

The vertex has to do with cosmic appointments or fateful encounters. Vertex comes from the latin word vertere, "to turn". The vertex is a secondary angle of the chart that brings us "cosmic appiontments" and run-ins that seem to be beyond our control.

Edward Johndro "invented" the vertex. He wasnt really searching for an indicator of fate. Rather, as an astrologer, mathmatician, physicist, and radio engineer, he was seeking a scientific explanation for astrology by investigating electrodynamic field theory. He considered the vx. and it's counter point 180 degrees opposite, the Antivertex, to "electromagnetic release points". Johndro postulated that the Antivertex was like "and electric Ascendant" which to me that it indicates experiences that tune us into ourselves and our pupose.

Okay I could go on and on here. But I'll try and keep it short and to the point.
"If you examine the vx. in many charts and lives, you will no doubt see evidence of it's fated workings."

The article was written by Janet Booth. I don't know if you could find it on the web. Also look up L. Blake Finley, he has done research on the vertex.

I don't think there is much significance of the two of your vertex's being in each others 5th and 7th houses for the reasons stated above. If they make aspects to planets especially a conjunction, that is another story.

Hope this helps in some way.
Happy trails!!

Hi,
Try finding the book "When will You Marry"
Llewylyn (?) press. I can't remember the author but it's really good for the arabic parts. I posted a topic about this probably a year ago. I'll see if I can find it.
