HEY THERE!!!!!I have noticed that some charts have lines all over the charts and others are only on one sides or even half then a side. I mean some charts have lines crossing everywhere while other have like 70 percent of the chart free with 30 percent od it with lines. I don't think i make sense, what do you all think? I just want to know what it mean when a chart is like that. IP: Logged |

Do you mean, like on charts you get from astrodeinst? Those are aspect lines. Aspects only count if they are within a certain number of degrees, dependingon the type of aspect. This is called an "orb aspect." For example, a conjunction needs to be within 8 degres (some say 10), and that's called an orb conjunction. If no line is shown, the planet falls outside of the necessary degrees to form an orb aspect. Some forms of ancient astrology would recognize an aspect merely by sign and not by degree (like Mars at 2 Aries would be considered conjunct with Sun at 28 Aries), which is why the orb system was developed - to distinguish between broader, vague aspects and stronger, "tighter" aspects that had more definite and precise influence. Nowadays, astrologers often just ignore aspects if they are not orbed. Astrodienst only shows major aspects (conjunctions, trines and sextiles with blue lines, and oppositions and squares with red), while other softeware includes minor aspects. Such charts are often so filled with lines to the point of being unreadable! I hope this aanswers your question. IP: Logged | |
