Hey does anyone know how to interpret an ASC-DESC conjunction in synastry, or have any ideas?

Isn't that the same as the seventh house signs? The "shadowing" thing?

Shadowing? As in shadowing + mirroring? I'm not sure. I understand on a fundamental level how the 7th house works, but I don't often understand what people mean when they start talking about it mirroring aspect you want in a partner, etc.

I've been coming across a few synastries with people with my chart, and it get complicated because my Pisces moon's in the 7th house conjunct to my DESC, which no one's been able to "explain" satisfactorily for me. According to popular reads of this configurations, I'm suppose to be incapable of being alone, overly dependant, overly maternal in my relationships and am seeking a mother figure in my life -- this is laughable, I enjoy immensely being alone, I've been accused by therapists of beeing *too* independant, I'm unobtrusive, slighly detached and perhaps a little aloof in relationships, and god, the last thing I want is to be matronized. If one suspects I have issues with my own mother, then yeah - I definitely have issues with her, as well as with *her* issues (having a histronic-borderline mother just isn't the easiest thing to live with). And yes I am looking for my "soul mate."

So when I come across synastry aspects with my moon-DESC I don't know what to think of them. Recently I've had one in which a guy's Sun and NN was conjunct with my DESC, and His Venus, DESC and NN conjunct to my Moon, so we have this stellium of sorts, right over the DESC. Is it's a positive or a negative? All I could dig up is that because his Sun is therefore oppo my ASC, I'm supposedly what he's looking for in a mate, at least on the surface. But nothing about the DESC conjunctions.

Then yesterday some sent me the data fo a guy she think who like me, and his ASC is conjunct my DESC-moon. Is it good or bad? I don't know. Most of the stuff I come across on the DESC is vague or sparse, and I just don't know what to think about these kinds of aspects.

I'm sorry, but I can't find a clear answer to that one. I did read that the decendent/7th house sign is what is called a sacred marriage or divine complement because those are the qualities that we secretly desire for ourselves. What has worked for me is when someone's moon matches my 7th house and Juno sign and my moon matches theirs. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can answer the question because I'm very curious about it. Someone asked if the 7th house sign will tell how many times we will marry and I can't find an answer to that either, but I would like to know if someone knows the answer. It sounds like you have some connections with both guys, so good luck!

Thanks Navia - it seems that the questions I post here at LL always go unanswered.

I came across one site today that simply said that ASC and DESC aspects could be either helpful or not. LOL, that was it! But basically it seems that ASC/DESC apsects work in a sort opposing/shadowing/mirroring fashion in which there's an attaction (if the aspect is good) to what is complimenary and opposition to you, but there's need for understanding of how the other person isn't like you. I guess that's a start.

I don't know much about Juno aspects, so that's interesting. My Juno's in the 11th house. In one of the charts above, witht he Pisces guy, his Juno is conjnct my moon. I hope that's good news.

I read that Juno is the person that we will be with and that the seventh house is the type of person that we will marry. I have also read that Eros tells us what type of person we need and that Eros is kind of like the moon nodes and the vertex in telling us what decisions we will have to make. One example is Aries/Libra, where the decision would be my personal will or sharing. There are six of those, much like the ascendents/descendents; Virgo/Pices, Tauraus/Scorpio, Gemini/Sagittarius, Cancer/Capricorn, and Leo/Aquarius. As I was searching, I did read in one place that if you have a second marriage, something would be in your ninth house, but that was it. I looked at loads of sites, but that was it. I have something in mine, too. Apparently some people don't, but I read that it doesn't mean that they won't get married. Still no clear answers...

And then there are some who say Juno only symbolizes your perfect lover, not your husband, which is symbolized by your Chiron.

I do think those with Junos that aspect your chart will be good lovers to you, but many times they can't commit. So Chiron may be one more factor, along with pesonal planets.

My ex had his Juno aspecting my Moon, Ascendant, Sun, Neptune, and Saturn and he was very sexy but not a great husband.

Now I have found that I prefer to talk to those who have Chiron in Pisces or Chiron in a water house, we have a lot in common as I have Chiron in the 4th in Aries.

I just wanted to concur with Navia.. I found that when I realy looked, I had a special relationship with people who's Moons fell on my Descendant- which is Aquarius, in my case. I had posted on a string in Soul Unions a few months ago about it, and wanted to add here as it is pertinent. I am now looking for Asc./Desc. articles. If I am successful, I'll post a link.

Thanks Pix - you can find anything I'd appreciate you posting it!

My DESC falls in Pisces, and I tend to have hit or miss vibe with other people with Pisces moons. Too much of a good thing I guess But Pisces Sun, definitely. Those are always the deeper, more meaningful and highly intuitive connections, even if I only the know the person briefly. The connection is almost always instant too, except when the person's moon is also in a mutable sign - then there's some adjustments to be made. I always figured that it was because of my moon, but now I am being to realize that my whole Pisces DESC area as being very receptive in that way.

I did find out that with my moon in the 7th house conjunct my DESC, and therefore squared my midheaven, I should be very sensitive and selective of the kind of people I feel comfortable around or am attracted to, and that's certainly true. I honestly can't see myself falling in love with anyone but a Pisces at this point in my life. I want that deep, intuitive, spiritual connection, and just don't see the point of a committed relationship without it.

This is all I could find so far. But I've heard if your Asc is your patner's Desc, and/or vise versa, it's very good:::
