So... I'm cruisin' through my various saved charts at astro.com and I start to notice that I know a lot of people with Pluto in Libra.

I started going through each person's chart to look for it.

I found that every single... that's right, I'm not exagerating... ALL 20-somethings (and a couple early 30s that are in relationships with a 20something) that I know have Pluto in Libra. I have 13 people out of 23 saved. Including myself.

It has something to do with untraditional relationships... I know that much.

Does anyone have anymore insight to offer?

Silly me... It just occurred to me that Pluto moves slowly and it's really not all that profound to be in all those charts.

I'm still interested in what it means though...

PLUTO IN LIBRA
(1971/72-1983/84)

Libra is the sign of peace and harmony, and early in Pluto's journey through Libra the agonizing war in Vietnam finally came to an end. On a larger scale, two enormous hostile world powers, the United States and the People's Republic of China, moved toward peace and a new rapproachment in their relationship. Pluto-in-Libra also indicates a deep concern for law and balancing injustice. The era of Watergate, with its shocking revelations of corruption, ended by bringing new order to government and restoring the balance of powers between the executive branch and Congress. A consequence was the adoption of the Freedom of Information Act. Libra emphasizes eglitarianism and equality, and Pluto's transit saw the passage of equal opportunity laws, support for the Equal Rights Amendment, and greater equality for homosexuals. Libra also signifies a love for luxury, and the early 1980's ushered in a period of opulence and ostentation. When Pluto is in Libra, the planet's personal influence promotes a deep need to seek harmony and cooperation. Its negative side brings unforeseen problems and disruption in close relationships.

Those born in the generation having Pluto in Libra experience the call to participate in world transformation by introducing new forms of co-operation between nations. They are also given the challenge of transforming traditional ideas of partnership relationships on planet Earth.
On a personal level, those born with Pluto in Libra experience their greatest fears in risking disharmony through disclosure of what they feel to be unjust. Their challenge is to be willing to discard personal illusions of balance and objectively express their power in relationships in order that a new and greater harmony can be established.

Pluto was in Libra for everyone on Earth from October 1971 to November 1983 (and again in May through August 1984 as well), the first time since 1735. Souls born during this 13 year period have been learning how to relate to others as equals. By listening to how reality exists for another person, one becomes able to give that individual what he or she truly needs. And by having a wide variety of relationships with many value systems, emotional and cultural patterns and spiritual beliefs, one can grow in understanding of themselves by comparison and contrast. You will find that change and inner growth often come through intense partnerships with both friends and lovers, with a need to examine your unconscious motivations and aspects of relating. You may also have new and potentially revolutionary ideas about law and justice.

1971-1984 (Generation X)

Pluto in Libra may be a bit compulsive. They want to understand the world around them, but they may act before thinking. They really want to appear as if they are in control. They work very diligently at making all of their relationships work. This is their way of transforming themselves and others. Some may be unconventional, while others are very traditional in how they view these relationships.

Libra Pluto loves art and they respond best to the art that makes a strong impression on the viewer. Fairness and justice is very important to them, and they may help reform laws to make things more equitable. They are fairly diplomatic, but may get very angry when they see injustice. Ultimately they wish to create harmony. Fighting and discord cause them pain. They are able to dive right in to a situation, however and wade through all the unpleasantness to create that peace.

Pluto in Libra has the gift of compromise. They can find a middle ground in almost any issue. That issue where there is no middle ground and one side will definitely lose is the hardest situation for Libra Pluto to deal with. They may become immobilized and do nothing.

Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Ben Affleck, Drew Barrymore and Monica Lewinsky all have the Libra Pluto Sign.

Pluto in Libra

Pluto is the slowest moving planet and thus is recognized as exerting a generational influence as it moves through each zodiac sign.
With Pluto in Libra you're part of the generation that can experience radical changes in the marriage code, the justice system, arts and culture, as well as relations with others both here and abroad.
On a personal level, those with Pluto in Libra tend to be adaptable, intellectual, extravagant and concerned with fairness.
Read the house placement for Pluto in your chart. It shows you an area of life where this planet has a more personal influence.

Pluto spent time in Libra for most of the 70’s and into the early 80’s. If you were born during that time, your Natal Chart probably shows Pluto in Libra. If so, then being in relationships (Libra) brings you opportunities for deep, personal and often dramatic transformations (Pluto). With this placement, learning how you relate with others, learning how different people relate differently with you, and what it takes to support a win/win approach to a relationship brings intense changes to your psyche. Pluto represents powerful changes that transform the way we live and Libra is about living in harmony with each other.
What an adventure!

Pluto in Libra
Pluto occupied Libra from 1971 to 1984 and sexual permissiveness and the relaxation of traditional moral values was a theme during this time. The contraceptive pill brought freedom from the fear of pregnancy for many women, and consequently this was an era when the unfettered pursuit of erotic pleasure seemed a desirable and harmless end in itself. As far as the personal influence goes, Pluto spices up the somewhat placid temperament of Libra, but also increases the tendency to cause problems just for the fun of solving them. This is particularly the case in emotional partnerships, where the pleasure of reconciliation is considered well worth a few hours of unproductive argument. This argumentative trait occurs when Libra is prominent in the chart. Change and inner growth tend to come through relationships, both friends and lovers. Marriage or union (yoga) will be very intense and not at all superficial. You get to the heart of a relationship each and every time. If Leo is prominent or if Pluto is personalised, in your Destiny Chart then possessiveness and jealousy can be problems in intimate relationships.
