i was thinking over this..." do i really want to be a travel agent through IATA or even do a computer course from NIIT or join a call center"?. neither of them appeases me. lets discuss each of them seperately.IATA (international air transport association): iata requires excellent knowledge of geography, communication skills and a desire to meet and interact with different kind of people. all of which require confidence. i'm not being negative but my confidence in my self is on an all time low since the past few years. besides the coaching ugys told me on face that without graduation (12+3) its of little use. NIIT: niit is crap! it has no value these days in india. what they teach is outdated by the time u graduate in it. besides they promise placements but get u the ones giving u not more than rupees 5000 each month. the biggest factor playing role behind niit and other computer institutes is the fact that more and more engineering colleges have copme up with courses in computers and it engineering. they have far more value than niit yet their students don't get a job. what would happen to an niit graduate then? considering all this niit is all crap. Call center: no future! its just a temporary source of earning a lot of money. after one becomes big enough to get married who would like a night job? besides its tiring and not white colour. instead it is a blue colour job. besides, the years spent in a call center brings no experience. considering the money its definitely not a waste but i have to think long term. so what all left for me is engineering. its also something i'm aware of and can perform in. but here again i'm not getting admission considering my marks (51%). the college nearest my home is a new one and they are asking for rupees 1.5 lakh donation plus 75000 fees each year for 4 years. my father won't spend that much for me considering my past misadventure in engineering. i dunno what to do. ------------------ Neerav IP: Logged |

Hey Can't you re-do some subjects from last year so you get better marks and get into engineering the year after? I mean im not sure you can do that in India...in Aussie you can. And while ur doing that you can work in a call center, only for a year till you get into engineering... IP: Logged |

Archer, you seem to always be making the same sort of posts, about how you don't know what to do with your life, lots of people go through that sort of thing but why don't you just think for the short term, why don't you get a job and save up some money and put yourself through the course that you want to do by paying for it yourS-elf rather than expecting your parents to fund it all. I'm well aware that everyone personal circumstances are different but you just come across as lazy! You should make decisions about your future yourS-elf!!!IP: Logged |

another option open for me is teaching. i mean giving coaching in private to 5th grade students or so. it is a very common practice in india. one of my friends with sun, moon, jupiter, uranus, neptune and ascendant in sagittarius is doing it. what do u think? should i risk a students career? a few months won't make a difference. ------------------ Neerav IP: Logged |
