Hello,
I was wondering if anybody who is gifted in the art of divination, clairvoyance,psychicism etc would have certain things in their chart? Like certain planets or signs in certain houses.
To put my question in personal perspective I have some planets in the 8th and 9th houses (sun in gemini, 9th, mercury and moon in 8th)and my sixth sense has always been quite strong but undirected and unpracticed. As I have been concentrating on developing my higher conscious lately I am finding it comes naturally.
Sorry, so, to return to my question, is there anything in particular, astrologically speaking, that gives people these gifts? Would anybody with psychic tendencies be willing to share their chart?

If I may ramble further, I am what you would call a forum lurker. I read here every day - also the through the looking glass and uni-versal forums - but only occasionally say anything. The recent thread about people asking their relationship questions and then rocking off kind of struck a chord with me, I came here to ask a question about my taurean boy (still together in case anybody remembers! and it is going beautifully) and haven't left yet. I am learning astrology slowly and steadily (taurus moon, eh) in conjunction with my journeys into the unknown, and I would like to thank everybody who takes the time to answer questions fully and to the best of their abilities, you are great explorers and communicators here, and I am learning a lot. Even though I don't have the confidence to join in. Yet!
Love and light to all,
Ax

I don't know much about it, but I doubt there is one single position/aspect/pattern that attributes to the sixth sense.

My first guess would be to look at Moon (subconscious) position and aspects. A truly *gifted* person I know has Gemini Moon in 9th opp. Neptune in 3rd. That is the tightest aspect in her chart.

I hope someone can tell more about it.

I always know what is going to happen to me and people I love, I always see it in my dreams at nights, almost every night, it does not have to be a significant happening. Sometimes I just "guess" things that come true later. I have Uranus on MC, Moon conj Neptune in Sagittarius in the 12th house.

My dad has a six sense he has moon and chiron in scorpio in the 8th house.

My aunt that also seeS prophetic dreams, she is an Auarius. So does my niece, she has Uranus in the first house, moon in scorpio in the 9th house.

Hi Teo,
Your 9th house sun prompts you to ponder these questions. This is a truth seekers placement. Your 8th house Moon puts you in touch with your "senses" that are just beneath the surface. Taures is not particularly psychic but a great place for the moon. Look at what aspects your Moon makes. Especially important are any aspects with Neptune, Uranus or Pluto.

I've been told I have precognition, however the arena in which it manifests most, or maybe I should say, the area in which I first noticed this ability is..well...while playing video games...I play a lot of video games, mostly RPGs, and I can enter a dungeon and go directly to whatever or wherever it is we need to go. If I TRY to do it, I always end up searching the dungeon methodically. But if I just let go and go wherever it strikes my fancy to go, I go DIRECTLY to our destination - every single time. I also have intense deja vu - esp. more prounounced in the past several months, but it's dream deja vu, meaning I dream about places and things, then end up there. My mother also has precognitive dreams, only hers are much more hard core. She dreams actual larger events that come true, like her being caught in a Category 5 hurricane in Mexico, earthquakes, etc. I thought it skipped a generation, until recently I've been experiencing hard core deja vu on a daily basis, not like, "I've been here/done this before", but "I dreamed this".

My 8th and 9th houses are empty. Actually, my 1st, 2nd, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 12th houses are empty. I have a Libra Moon in the 4th (which isn't really known for psychic abilities, right?) - My mother also has all but one planet in the lower hemisphere (Uranus in the 12th), same moon as I, her's is in the 5th though. So I'm not sure what influences either of us to that effect.

This is a neat topic! I can be psychic at times, but it's strength changes every week almost. Like this week I'm sick..immune system is low, I'm kinda dim. But most of the messages come through to me in dreams.

Sometimes it's something mundane like I'll dream that my mom bakes a cake, then it can be as extreme as knowing that a close family member will have a miscarriage.

Just recently I dreamt of a dog laying dead in the road. The next morning I called my grandma because she has 6 dogs! She said they were fine. Then sure enough later my mom called crying. She was dogsitting for a friend, and the dog got loose and was hit by a car My family always gets scared now when I mention a dream I am concerned about.

Do you have any major aspects to the moon, neptune, uranus, pluto? I agree, they are important in regards to this stuff. And then also look at the 12th, 8th, & 5th house
(I think)
My chart placements...
Neptune 3rd trine Moon
Uranus singleton 3rd
Pluto Scorp 1st Opp. Moon
Mars singleton 12th

Moon SQ Asc (6°)
Neptune Opp Saturn (9°)
Neptune SQ NN (1°)
Uranus SQ Asc (6°)
Pluto OPP MC (4°)
Neptune TRINE MC (3°)
Neptune Sextile Pluto (1°)

That's pretty much it for those planets, other than your more minor aspects. I do have my NN in the 8th in Pisces, so I guess my 8th house isn't technically empty either.

Teo -

What do you mean you don't have confidence to participate. When I first came here, I was in a complete emotional blind spot in my life - basically - a wreck. Many of us arrive here like that and find a soft place to land. Don't be afraid to show your honest side, even if you don't feel you are at your best. That's what life is about here. Astrology deals with raw emotions too, and even if one day you feel angry or sad, you can just post "I feel angry and sad today", even if you know it won't last.

"...Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Isis -

Is an "RPG" like the game Myst? I love that one.

Scorpbaby -

That's incredible about your psychic dreams. Such power can be scary, but you seem to be handling it responsibly. (lotto numbers?) hee hee - honestly though, I too have always remembered my dreams since I was a little girl, and still do. Some have been prophetic in that way, all are prophetic in SOME way, even if it's not immediately obvious.

Back to Teo -

When I think of a lurker, I think of someone who looks and acts like this Is that you?

Come on! Don't be ridiculous! Yeah ... OK ... everyone ... let's vote on whether to let Teo join in, or should we boot out of here? Don't be ridiculous Teo...

As for psychic "placements", I was thinking about how each element interprets these impressions, and was thinking about starting a thread, and I think I will! So look for that, but as for my chart, I was born Oct 2, 1961 @ 8:44pm Miami, Fl. Looking at my chart I'd say the following contribute to intuitiveness/psychic awareness :::

* Moon in Cancer

* Mercury, Mars & Neptune in Scorpio, all in the 6th House.

* Mercury Conjunct Neptune

* Venus Sextile Neptune

* Venus Conjunct Pluto

* Neptune Sextile Pluto

* Chiron in Pisces

and someone mentioned the MC in Aquarius (Uranus), which I have too, as well as my South Node.

I've got no planets in the 12th. Seems to me, planets in the 12th may influence it, but sometimes the 12th hides it so well from the person! Or they do not have the motivation to use it or hone it.

I'm not sure whether Myst qualifies as an RPG or not - although it is played somewhat similarly. Traditionally they're the Dungeon and Dragon-type games, although I believe they've extended the concept of RPGs into more modern arenas as well these days. I tend to stick to the D&D types (Everquest, Neverwinter Nights, Dungeon Seige, Diablo, etc), where you can choose a character (fighter, magic user, etc), do quests, run around killing stuff, grow and develop your character through a set of personal statistics and abilities, and is usually set in a midievil-type world.

OK - yeah - I know what you mean. I'm not able to get into those at all. For me, I get enjoyment from video games when I don't have to think that much. I'm still into some of the original Mario's OK? (* I see you giggling *)

But that's because I don't try to keep up with all the new stuff, and a couple of years ago I was watching these little kids play with the new games which move much faster than the old stuff, and I thought, this could give me a brain hemorrage. That would make me so hyper! Just hope these kids spend just as much time caring for their hearts and each other in this technological empire.

I still love all the "old school games"! I bought a game boy so that I could play Mario! I used to have an emulator on my old PC, so I could play old Atari and Nintendo games.

I love all video games except FPS (first person shooters) and sports games (except Madden - but let's put it this way, I play the Vikings because their uniforms are purple...lol). My favs are the scrolling games (Mario, etc), RPGs, and strategy. I seriously play way too many video games lol. If I were fifteen years younger, I'd probably be the dream girlfriend for your average teenage boy lmao - I could play video games and watch anime all day long, and I'm a Scorp *ahem* if ya know what I mean .

i think maybe having triple activity in the 12th house could make me more pyschically-inclined. jupiter, mercury, and sun. saturn in gemini also but this is the painful aspect of it, kind of like splitting the atom

Hehe I know AJ if only I could see those #'s! Thats interesting we both had such powerful dreams since we were little.
Did your upbringing allow you to be an escapist?
When I was little I was always in my own world. I was introduced to the supernatural & spirituality when I was like 4. I remember wanting to be a witch so badly, my birthday present was a black cat! (Blueberry Pie)

I think that sometimes psychic gifts are passed down also. This yr. my mom and I were talking about my crazy dreams, she is also very intuitive herself (Scorpio sun), but out of the blue she mentioned that my dad was very psychic. I was in shock to hear this because he is the "business man type", who would of thought!

They broke up when I was still a baby, but she said when they dated he never liked to admit to knowing things before hand. He hated to talk about it...I'd really like to ask him about this but I don't know if I have the...balls lol

Yeah, I had plenty of time for escapism, and yes, we do have some "gifts" passed down. Probably the very first things I ever tried was wiggling my nose, and nodding my head, so that my room would neaten itself up on its own. I remember having tried that for quite some time while I laid in bed daydreaming.

Thanks everybody for answering, I am going to decipher and digest this wealth of info! It's all fascinating stuff.
I've noticed that I share Neptune sextile Pluto with AJ and Isis, I have other major aspects of:
Sun Conjunction Jupiter 6°39
Sun Opposition Neptune 7°52
Moon Square Saturn 4°31
Venus Conjunction Mars 1°11
Venus Opposition Uranus 1°26
Mars Opposition Uranus 2°36
Jupiter Sextile Saturn 2°30
Jupiter Opposition Neptune 1°13
Jupiter Trine Pluto 4°22
Jupiter Trine Ascendant 1°22
Saturn Square Uranus 5°08
Saturn Trine Neptune 1°17
Saturn Sextile Pluto 1°51
Saturn Sextile Ascendant 1°08
Neptune Sextile Pluto 3°08
Neptune Sextile Ascendant 0°09
Pluto Conjunction Ascendant 3°00

I've pasted these from astro.com as I am still getting my head around working them out :-)My asc. is Libra btw.

Anyway AJ, no I am not a scarey kind of lurker ha ha. Less maniacal looking than that smiley I would hope! Tell you what I'll join in then I can dump my lurking status.
I'm just a bit shy, at parties I am the one in the corner nervously picking the label off the bottle of beer I'm trying to hide behind. And to think I am a gemini, lol.

Well - good news - no one can see you when you are here (shhhhh....)

You could be a burly, he-man, crossdressing truckdriver who's in the middle of a sex change, hiding behind a beer bottle - (we wouldn't know)...

We are all here to learn.

RE: Indicators of Psychic abilities in the natal chart - Here's interesting sample of such a chart.

http://groups.msn.com/LindalandPhotoShop/mywebhost.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=386

It's Edgar Cayce's chart. Notice the PERFECT conjunction of Uranus to the ascendant. I think this aspect is very significant, especially since it has an orb of 0 degrees, 14mins.

Can anyone think of any other reknowned (legitimate) psychic people? We could look at their charts too.

re: Brown: She's mentioned that she's a Libra, but that's all that I know.

The only really, truly psychic person I've ever known had a Piscean Moon in the 12th.

My Mom has precognitive dreams, I've had a few, and both my sister and I can pretty accurately say what the precipitation's going to be like (her for the Spring/Summer, me for the Fall/Winter), but - wouldn't you know - only when we're not trying to think about it. I also have a wierd thing going on w/ finding places.
I have absolutely *no* conventional sense of direction, but when I'm looking for a place or going to it and am unsure of the way, there will be an odd kind of pressure inside my skull whichever way I should go.

Oh, and I can usually tell who's calling; and my Mom and I often pick up the phone to call each other at the exact same time.

And I have an odd thing re: "events" which has shown up in Anthropology and PoliSci classes, but that's a different story.

my moon is in pisces in the 12th house... i've always wondered if that was a particularly "psychic" placement.

i have precognative dreams often.. and predict earthquakes, fires, etc.. allll the time. i'm working on directing it a bit more...

i LOVE this thread!
