Which of the 12 signs does this sound like to you? And why?

"CALIFORNIA DREAMING"

Free to be me -- no one can take away this right from a person who has this personality style. These men and women play by the rules and fulfill their responsibilities and obligations. But once they’ve put in their time, they will let no person, institution, or even culture deprive them of their personal pursuit of happiness, for to this person this is what life is all about. Some of these individuals find their happiness through creative pursuits, some by relaxing with a good book. What’s important to them is not how they choose to enjoy themselves but that they are guaranteed this opportunity. If threatened, these normally easygoing individuals will vigorously defend their fundamental right to do their "own thing."

THE SEVEN CHARACTERISTICS

1. Inalienable rights. These men and women believe in their right to enjoy themselves on their own terms in their own time. They value and protect their comfort, their free time, and their individual pursuit of happiness.

2. Enough is enough. They agree to play by the rules. They deliver what is expected of them and no more. They expect others to recognize and respect that limit.

3. The right to resist. These individuals cannot be exploited. They can comfortably resist acceding to demands that they deem unreasonable or above and beyond the call of duty.

4. Manana. These men and women are relaxed about time. Unlike Type-A individuals, they are not obsessed by time urgency or the demands of the clock. To these individuals, haste makes waste and unnecessary anxiety. They are easygoing and optimistic that what-ever needs to get done will get done, eventually.

5. I’m okay. They are not overawed by authority. They accept them-selves and their approach to life.

6. Wheel of fortune. These people believe that they are just as good as everyone else and as entitled to the best things in life. They maintain that blind luck often accounts for who fares well and who fares poorly.

7. Mixed feelings. Although they feel impelled to proceed in their own direction, when their choices put them in conflict with the people they care for, these people are often of two minds about how to proceed. They do not like to risk important relationships, yet they need to feel free.

I think Aquarius or actually... Scorpio.
I see Pisces.... but I think it seems more fixed and sure than Pisces typically tend to be.
So..... Aquarius... or Scorp.. but first choice Aqua.

Third choice???? Gemini.

No, Nanji, I'm not making these up... and the reason they make you wonder what drug the astrologer was on is because they're not astrological descriptions; they're psychological ones.

Welcome to Lindaland, by the way!

Oh? Would that have influenced your answer, LibraSparkle?

It shouldn't matter what "kind" of description it is. It's a description, simple as that; even without such a context, the questions I asked are valid and can be answered.

My first impression was Sagittarius, but it does have a Piscean side to it.

However if it's Pisces then they haven't presented a mystical angle (an important element), it has only been referred to from a wheel of fortune "que sera sera" perspective, more consistent (I'd have thought) with a Sagittarian outlook.

A distinction should be made I think between the sagittarian relaxed philosophical outlook (well presented in the description) and piscean dreaminess and "away with the faeries"-ness. The french have a great expression : "être dans les vapes" ("to be in the vapours") which is perfectly Neptunian and well describes this aspect of Pisces. This aspect is not presented in the description, and so, I conclude :

Sagittarius.

The whole free to be me thing struck as

very Aquarius

Also:
1. Inalienable rights. These men and women believe in their right to enjoy themselves on their own terms in their own time.

2. Enough is enough.
3. The right to resist.

So aquarian.

hmmmmmmmm.. I do see the Sag there.
There was something nagging at me that seemed right.. which is why I threw in the Gemini at the end.. but Gemini's opposite DOES seem to fit more....
I'm with you there!
I still think Aquarius first...

I don't know if it would infulence my answer all that much... hard to say. I really don't know all that much about psychology.

Although... a friend of mine just loaned me her Psych 101 book from last Spring. (I really wanted the Sociology book, but she sold it ). Anyhow... I haven't started poking through it yet, but I plan to

My gut feeling tells me it is Taurus.

They are most patient in the zodiac, but they sure know when enough is enough. Also the word resistance has a Taurean twang to me. And best things in life. They are as good as any Leo in that.

I didn't see Aqua at all. As far as general tolerance goes Aquas are right there on the top with Pisces, but they don't accept themselves that easily. Nor do they believe the concept of wheel of fortune.

So different opinions. Cool!

I think Aquarius.

The relaxed about time thing is so true of Aquarians- I'm Aqua rising ans Venus, and I refuse to wear a watch- why should I be bound by something that doens't exist in the first place?

And the "free to be me?" Aquarians value freedom even more than Sag's.

Oh, gee this is a toughy!

I agree...Aquarius. I was leaning toward Sag, but the part about being torn between their need for freedom, and their relationships, which they do value...totally Aqua. Sag isn't torn about that. They just do what they will, and people have to like it or lump it.

I have a feeling it's Gemini, I was gonna say Sag. The only geminis I know are my 3 little brothers, all Gems. They are still kids so it's hard to apply all these traits to them. They are generally happy go lucky boys, free minded, in pursuit of personal happiness.

This part also leans me towards Gemini "these people are also of TWO minds in how to proceed." The two minds of the twins perhaps?

Well, sooo faaar, this descriptions seems to fit both Aquarius and Pisces pretty neatly. (Pisces was my own first choice.) I also see some Sagittarius in there, too, now that it's been mentioned... but I think it would be more like secondary traits for Sag.

I find it interesting that this description and the first one both seem to fit adjacent signs: Virgo/Libra and Aquarius/Pisces. Certainly lends support to the idea that the 12 signs in order represent an overall progression...

Well, shall I post Part 4 now, or let these three stew for awhile? Whaddya think? Anybody want to play with the next one?
