Does anyone else have a yen for men working? Men who are using tools, hammering, building, even driving a truck with the words construction written on the side. Is there a childhood event buried there, or is just that they are strong and silent?

Anyone else?
And What signs would be most likely to be out working on a house or building?
It's really hard to talk to someone who is working of course, so I haven't had much luck dating anyone like this. My ex husband an Aries, actually tried roofing for a while because I told him this, but he quit after a few weeks.

Is it because I'm an earth sign?
What aspects would make me so obsessed with building things?

Thanks,
Natasha

Hi,
my father and brother were both carpenters.
My brother is an Aries and father was a Sag. I must admit I think my father would have been a better engineer - he's too intelligent and did not have the blue collar attitude my brother has. My father also has a Aqua moon and virgo mars. I don't know all of his planets offhand and there is no way of knowing his birthtime considering he's 85 and they did not record it. My brother has alot of Taurus and though he is less skilled than my father, he has the construction worker attitude. Several Cancer men make good carpenters - Harrison Ford, a friend's husband...
I (a Cancerian)think personally I like a man who is good with fixing things because that is how I grew up. I once dated a man who poorly fixed a flat tire and I was totally turned off. I don't like the closed-minded blue collar attitude though - I grew up with that as well. I'm thinking a sculptor is more my type. I like the strong manly type who is also sensitive, intelligent, patient, and open to new ideas.

I had an ex-boyfriend, who was of course, my man at the time... he came over to my apartment to help me install a door.... as I was watching him move.. his forearm bulging and veiny under the strain.. I was so turned on...... He looked at me and knew.. I asked when he'd be finished, raising my eyebrow, and took him upstairs.

I keep thinking maybe Taurus has something to do with building/fixing things. I'm not totally sure though, it's just from my experiences. I worked with a Taurus who loved to fix computers and software whenever that'd stop working. I personally have 2 Taurus influences and like to put together car models, assemble furniture, build things. My Taurus boyfriend LOVES working on cars, he's always fixing them up. Oh to answer your other question, I find it so sexy to watch him working on his cars! It could be an earth thing!

pixelpixie... great story

I'm not big into construction myself... too much water in my chart i think!

As for attraction, I'd probably go for the sensitive (read: nerdy) poetry-reading out-of-tune guitar player sprawled out under the big oak tree across from a construction site before I'd smile at the hard-hatted muscular hunk whippin' out the drill and measuring tape.

Hi Natasha,

Both my grandfathers and Dad are Carpenters! One of my grandfathers isn't my biological one, but he's been like a father figure to me since I was a baby. I have tons of childhood memories being at the construction site, running up the dirt hills, and the smell of an unfurnished house(smells like wood and dust). Well it seems to be a trend that the women in my family marry these types, I must also be destined to.

Pix -

Your story ...

I think I'm gettin' the vapors ... wait ... there's a group of men working with their hands ... I think I'll faint over there ...

Natasha -

I've seen so many Signs do "manly" work like that, and in fact, many women do too, which can be a turn on too.

You've heard the expression, if you want to know a man, watch him work? I think it's that, cuz it IS a turn-on.

Even I love to do "manly" work, I've held the fort down at home for many many years. But it's not as sexy, unless I "innocently" rub some chalking across my nose.

And maybe it's the efficiency and practicality of what they are doing, especially attractive to a Taurus? Someone is building something in front of you, and something you can use, with practical use. I can live with that.

Mr. T was UNBELIEVABLE in that way, and if he wasn't such a f-up ... anyways, he could fix ANYTHING and build ANYTHING, has a few degrees in this and that, he knows all the technical lingo too. Just feeling like he knew what he was doing was an INCREDIBLE turn-on.
