Does anyone have information about Angels? It could be about anything. To start: Where do they come from? How to see one? How do they do their work? How do they see the Universe? What has been your personal experience? IP: Logged |

Hi Aphrodite I've never really thought about Angels in the traditional way (ie. spirits with great wings and halo's on their head). I don't come from a religious background but a very spiritual one. In my experience ever since I was a little I've always seen certain people in my life as Angels. I guess in my case they would be considered Soulmates and not Angels. Many of the people in my life (mostly the women) my mother, grandmother, great grandmother,Aunt, and bestfriend have helped me so much on my journey I would have been lost without them. Then their are people that we know for only a brief period that may help us or inspire us in a way that it leaves a grand imprint on our souls. In my opinion everyone is an Angel. IP: Logged |

Writing a book on something Aphrodite? Before I was told there were really such things as angels, I believed in them. - Once that happened, I've started to doubt them because I can't see those buggers with my own eyes ... funny. IP: Logged |

I don't have an idea about what they look like, but I'm sure they're there...whether "angels" or "guides", etc. I wrote a few months ago in FFA about my near-accidents, and I KNOW that I have someone/something watching over me.Funny, but I would swear I should say that as a plural, I feel more as if it were two "entities". Then again, I'm a gemini...maybe it's just hard to keep up with me! lol! I believe they also work through people as well, as has been stated here already, but not necessarily on a full-time basis. Ever have a conversation where you tell someone who is hurting or confused all this wise stuff, stuff that you've never thought about before and you are stunned at how smart and wise you are?? lol...I know that's happened to me. I'm sure it wasn't MY self speaking... I'm so grateful to my T H A N K Y O U!!!!!!!! Nackie IP: Logged |

My grandparents have both passed and I was very close to them. They visit me in dreams, often and especially when I am sad. When both my grandpa and grandma died, a pigeon or an owl would come and sit vigil on my bedroom window. They would not go away for a coupla days. IP: Logged |

I've recently become interested in angels, too.Supposedly, angels are distinct entities, different from guides, although there are guardian angels. Whereas at least on guide is with you at all times, guardian angels are with you the instant you think of them. These are not to be confused with the Archangels (Uriel, Raphael, Michael, Gabriel), who generally present themselves only in times of emergency. Angels have great respect for us, and our commitment to enter into, and transmute, the coarse vibrations of the physical realms. There are, however, people on earth who have no former earthly incarnation, some of whom are from the elemental realms (salamanders, undines, sylphs, faeries, gnomes, etc.), or various star systems (Starseed, or Starpeople), and some people who are in fact "incarnated angels". These articles by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D., are pretty interesting: http://www.angeltherapy.com/articles.html ------------------ "Judgement is the antithesis of understanding." - Heart-Shaped Steve IP: Logged |

I don't know where angels come from or how they see the universe, but I have had an experience. Don't know how far I want to get into to it though. When I was a kid I was very sick one day, just became sick all of a sudden. My parent's took me to the hospital and I was admitted. That night I was in my room alone and my grandfather who had died the previous spring came to visit me and then when he left there was an angel there. I remember telling the nurse that an angel was perched (like a bird) behind her, but she kind of ignored me. I saw a movie w/ Christopher Walken about angels and it was creepy, the actor's sat exactly the same as the angel I saw. I remember being told many things and not to discuss something (can't remember what). But years later, like a decade, my grandmother, mother, and I were sitting around one day talking about something probably religious and it came out that we had all been visited at some point by angels. I think their work is just to be there as a watchful presence, maybe even for protection against something. I don't know how you would see one, maybe just by being open to it or by being young enough to see them. Maybe angels are even the "invisible" friends some kids have? I totally agree with Nackie also. here are some great links about angles, specifically guardian angels. http://www.newadvent.org/summa/111302.htm http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/01476d.htm http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/07049c.htm IP: Logged |

Doreen Virtue has books on Angels and gives workshops. I think her most recent work is "Angel Medicine". I saw a tape of her, she seemed right on. One thing that stands out is she said that we should call on our angels to help us OFTEN! She said they are just waiting to be asked. IP: Logged |

i just recently had an experience that made me double think the whole "angel" thing.i was having a absolutely horrendous night, and seriously was going insane. i contimplated killing myself, thought i was going to die, was just so distraught at some heartbreaking news i had just received.... nobody was there to help me. i layed in my bed in a terrible state. i can't even tell you how far gone i was. it was BAD. i didn't think i could make it through the pain - i wanted to kill myself, but i knew that wouldn't help. i need help. badly. as i lay there squirming in my bed, crying, hysterical, i tried to sleep. it was dark and my eyes were closed. all of the sudden it was light and all i saw were androgenous figures above my head. they had faces, and sort of flowing bodies... they were a golden light color. they were in a sort of circle around my head. and they smiled and poured love and compassion down upon me like i had never known. i heard them say in my head "it will be alright... it will be alright" and they just smiled. then - it was gone. night was there again... it must have only lasted a few seconds....but, i when i came back to "reality" i realized i had stoped crying and was relaxed. the calm lasted for maybe a half an hour... and then night and nightmares took over again... but i realize now... this was not the first time they had saved my life. i know they were my guardians.. they knew me somehow and came to stop me from making a terrible mistake. i WAS asking for help that night. i was praying for it. i didn't want to end my life.. but i have panic attacks and don't know what i'm doing... it goes back to my childhood.. that night someone said something to me that set off all the repressed horrible things that happened to me in my childhood and i couldn't take it. i believe it was the first time i ever saw them... i don't remember "seeing" them before, but somehow i know they were there before. it was an amazing experience. i also have some others to tell someday... The saddest day was when my grandfather died and an owl came to sit vigil on my bedroom window. It was there the whole night, just watching over me. In the morning, the colony of crows living in the nearby grove attackec, feeling threatened by the predator. They killed him, and I have never felt so lost and lonely as I did that day. When my grandmother died, I had another visitor - it was a beautiful white pigeon, one of those rare ones. This one stayed with me for three days and it was so nice to feel its presence nearby. I still have visits from my grandparents in my dreams and that especially happens when I am sad, or lonely or confused. I am sure that dreams are another dimension, where visitors form the nether realms can visit and communicate with those close to them. I feel we all are surrounded by spirits, both lonely and happy. I know I lost someone very close to me very young and I can still feel her presence near me when I need her the most. I dont know much about angels, but I believe, we have the power to keep alive those that we miss the most and that soome one who loves us watches over us, always, whether we know it or not.
