I posted this method of calculation in another string for someone, that kind of sunk quickly to the bottom. So I'm posting it here because I think some of you might be really interested in calculating your marriage years. Also those who are, or who have been married, I wonder if the ages that show up in your chart are correct. This is a simple way of seeing the marriage years in the Natal Chart.

____________________________________________
There are many, many ways to calculate marriage timers in the chart. Secondary progressions (especially prog. moon) is one of the best ways. You can also look at transits and your Sun/Moon midpoint.

Here I will tell you a way to discover your marriage years in your Natal chart. Hope it's not too confusing.

Sometimes the marriage year will show up easily in the natal chart. You look to the distance between your love planets (Sun, Moon, Venus and Mars) and the angles of your chart and sometimes the Part of Marriage.

First you count the number of degrees between the love planets (S, Mo, V, and Ma) and the angles of your chart (ASC, DSC, MC and IC)

For example: I have Venus at 25 degrees Gem. in my fifth house. If I count the degrees to my DC which is at 18 degrees Cancer I get 23 degrees, in between that love planet and the angle. This is a possible marriage age for me: 23 years old. Well, that one didnt happen. But there are more.

I have Mars at 15 degrees Leo in the 7th house. If we count back the degrees to the DC (18' Can) - in this case we get 27 degrees in between - another possible marriage age.

I also have the Sun at 26' Taurus, 12 degrees away from my IC. Obviously I would not be getting married at 12 yrs. old. In some cases you double the number, as in this case. And I have 24 another possible marriage date. I was with the (one of) love of my life at that age, and although we didnt get married, I felt like I was married to him. A very karmic relationship.

Okay now to the Moon. At 29 degrees Virgo in the 8th house. The next closest angle is my MC at 14' Scorp. There are 44 degrees between these two points. Fourty-four years old is another possible marriage timer.

Now obviously you cant rely on this way of timing alone. There are other things that will set it off if there is to be an actual marriage. In actual marriages you will often see about 9 or more triggers. Whether they be by transit, secondary progression, solar return planets aspecting natal planets, most likely a number of these things going on all at once. Dont rely on this alone. It is definately a great timing tool though.

The best timer for any event but especially marriages for women is a Moon/Mars aspect. Usually the conjunction of the two. (not transiting moon to mars though )

I will provide some more info if you'd like when I can find the book I learned all of this from. This is just something I remembered and it is usually spot on.

Again I will say there will be many other things going on in the chart at the time of something important like a marriage. There is alot to be looked at. This can give a good reference though.

I'll look for the book and get back to you. Pay close attention to the Progressed Moon. It is the biggest timer in a chart.

***Also this method doesnt work for every chart. Some people's love planets are all too far away from the angles. In this case you look to other methods. It doesnt mean you wont get married.

****I learned this in the book: When Will You Marry? Your romantic destiny through astrology. By Rose Murray

Neat! I just had myself a look at my own chart for fun, although I really have no urge to get married and if I do I always say it's going to be when I'm really old...well, guess what!

Moon 24 Taurus
IC 19 Cancer
55 years of age

IC 19 Cancer
Venus 1 Virgo
42 years of age

IC 19 Cancer
Sun 16 Virgo
57 years of age

Sun 16 Virgo
DC 6 Scorpio
50 years of age

Mars 22 Scorpio
DC 6 Scorpio
16x2= 32 years of age

Mars 22 Scorpio
MC 19 Capricorn
57 years of age

Interesting how 57 shows up twice . I have moon opposition mars, ick. I still have yet to learn about progressed charts, so glad that's the next chapter I have to read in my Astrology book I'm learning from. yay!

Awww....too bad you didnt figure out the other two lovely. It wouldve been interesting to see what the ages were, since I believe you are married. Like I said, this method doesnt work on all charts, but there are other ways to decipher this. I bet you could easily pinpoint when you got married by your progressed moon. It is the best timer in predictive astrology. I'm reading another book on it now.

VTT,

Wow, interesting that you have always felt that if you ever did get married, it would be later in life. And your calculations backed that up. Neat! I'm not big on the whole marriage thing either. Must be an earth sign thing. I could care less if I do or not. Still, it's interesting to look at these things. Just proves astrology really works. Yes, that is interesting that 57 came up twice. Guess you'll have to wait and see. Thanks for the input.

26taurus.

Well its because my sun moon and venus are in virgo (merc/mars not far, in libra) the dc in cap, asc in cancer, mc in pisces and ic in virgo either create wide or narrow distance.

And yes, I am married. I was 25, two weeks later turned 26.

Maybe I'll be on the 3rd or 4th marriage at 81, i dunno i would not be surprised! because me=nutz

It doesnt work for me 26taurus,
The calculated ages are either less than 16 or greater than 72

I see lovely. And hey! You never know!

Oh, I'm sorry sweet libra. Well, it doesnt work for everyone. You can double numbers, say if you had 15, you would get a date of 30.....FYI.

Actually I was just reading in a book that people should wait 'til after their first Saturn Return and Progressed Moon Return to marry. Too long to go into all of the details here but, it makes total sense. The progressed moon return has given you a chance to really experience every sign and it's kind of a new moon for yourself. People change so much, the earlier you get married, the less chance you have of it working out. There is a greater chance of out growing the person if you marry young.

Both the Sat. and Progressed Moon Returns both happen around the ages of 28 - 30. So all of this makes complete sense.

Dont just marry for security sweetlibra, it will be sure to fail. Get secure with yourself first.

26Taurus, I totally agree on not marrying until the first saturn return. When i was married at the age of 25, the ideals were much different from what they are now, 5 years later.

good topic!

Yes, interesting isnt it? We're always changing. I think back to five years ago with myself and OMG, I'm a whole different person. I can only imagine how I'll be five more years from now.

Indeed, I think the advice on waiting until your Saturn Return (and ProgMoonReturn) is well worth consideration. (I havent had either yet)

26Taurus... I don't get it :/ I feel dumb.

So the degrees... for example Venus has a big 19 next to it and then a smaller 16 just above it... so what am I counting where?

Sorry, everyone else seems to get it but me!

Plus, I've been married, I wanna see if the age shows up. I was 23!

Oh my! I missed your post Aquarian Girl. We're all posting at the same time.

You want to look at the first set of numbers. Those are the degrees. The other one's after it are the minutes. Dont pay attention to those for this.

I'm interested to see what comes up for you. Do you understand the rest of it?

OK, I think I got it I was getting confused over which numbers to use and making it more complicated than it really was!

My sun is at 5 Degrees of Aquarius (5th house), so counting back to my IC at 4 degrees of Capricorn... I get the age of 31!

Distance between sun and DC comes out to 61 years old.

Mars is almost the same. It's right next to the sun at 4 degrees of Aquarius. So... 30

My Venus is at 19 degrees of Sag (3rd house)... So to the IC it is only 15... if we double that, it's another 30!

I have my moon in the 4th house, 10 degrees of Capricorn and to my IC it's only 6 degrees... heheh... counting to my DC it looks like I'll be getting married at 86!

So... it looks like 30 may be a big year for me, eh? Right after my Saturn return, so hopefully no more divorce for me, lol

For example: I have Venus at 25 degrees Gem. in my fifth house. If I count the degrees to my DC which is at 18 degrees Cancer I get 23 degrees, in between that love planet and the angle. This is a possible marriage age for me: 23 years old. Well, that one didnt happen.

I'm confused. How do you subtract 18 from 25 and get 23?

You dont.

Count how many degrees are between the love planet and angle.

Does that help?

26T, I wonder if the need to not get married young has to do with certain aspects, although it still could be an earth sign thing . I just don't understand my taurus ex, he wanted to get married sooooooo bad and I'm like NO! Not until I'm OLD! I really don't care if I do or not either I'd rather have my space/independence I guess.

Moon - 12
Venus - 20
Mars - 0

ASC - 6
DSC - 6
MC - 13
IC - 13
