This seems like an interesting article. I've never seen it before. I do know that Mars Returns signal a new 2 year cycle of energy. Mars returns back to it's natal spot about two-two and half years. It's like a Mars New Moon....if that makes sense. You should find a renewal of energy. I'm still trying to find the article that I was talking about, but here's one for now.

WhiteRabbit -

If you wanna post the House it's transiting, I'll add info specific to Mars transiting that House, OK?

Here's more info to help understand more ...

"Transits of the Planet Mars:
Mars spends about two months in each natal house. Mars provides you with the energies needed to assert yourself in the pursuit of your needs and desires. Transiting Mars is retrograde for about three months each year. During that time you may experience reversals or delays in the affairs affected by Mars at that time."

AND

"Mars/Mars:
When Mars’ reactivates it’s own place in the natal chart, especially by conjunction, all of the natal potential of the planet is stimulated. A certain amount of energy will arise out of such a contact due to the awakening of the natural competitive urges. Especially in this instance the natal Mars should be examined for potential. Restraint and caution should be applied in regard to affairs ruled by Mars in the natal chart, but with assisting aspects, great accomplishments can be yours. With hard aspects to a natal Mars that is afflicted, matters could get out of hand and you could turn out to be your own worst enemy unless you can curb rebellious tendencies and maintain control. Open confrontations are common with this position and with many adverse aspects such conflicts might become physical, resulting in an accident. Since Mars reflects those of a masculine nature, conflicts with these types are the norm. This contact occasionally corresponds with an illness if other indicators concur."

AND

"... A strong Mars assists in affairs requiring courage, passion, and initiative, and if you have a strong Mars in your chart, you enjoy a healthy amount of competition and the opportunity to demonstrate your courage. You may be rather more competitive with standards you’ve set for yourself than competing with others and you do not wish to infringe on the rights of others as long as they give you the same amount of respect. Contrary to what might be expected, those people who are overly aggressive, combative, or competitive are not this way because of a strong Mars. Rather, this would come from an afflicted Mars, causing its energies to work inharmoniously.

A healthy natal Mars would be so by a good sign and house placement and also by smooth-flowing aspects to other planets in the chart. This would ensure the easy integration of one’s efforts with the rest of the world. Such an individual is able to withstand nearly any onslaught from Mars, whether retrograde or not. In many cases challenging aspects to a strong Mars correspond with noteworthy achievements and progress. Mars combined with the natal Sun, Venus, or Jupiter by a sextile or trine aspect would bring harmony to the expression of Mars’s energies. With any of these aspects you are able to exert your initiative in a manner that is not threatening to others..."

"... A weak Mars in the nativity could reveal itself by an over-compensating manner, causing inappropriate aggressive actions that bring problems back upon the individual. The “flight” option may also be in evidence with a weak Mars. Another likely manifestation with a weak or afflicted Mars is to experience the aggressive energies of Mars in projected form. In projected form, the individual is rather like a target for someone else’s aggressive qualities and in occasional instances could even become the victim of such. A twelfth house Mars with several adverse aspects is an example of a weakened Mars and one that would need to be monitored closely as it transits the chart.

Most of us have several factors influencing our natal Mars, some beneficial and some that could be detrimental to our actions. Capitalizing on the positive factors and using discipline and direction on the less desirable ensures that we are using Mars to its greatest potential.

Although the aspects made by transiting Mars to the natal planets will show whether individual efforts are supported or challenged, and by whom, the house position of Mars is important in determining the possible area of ramifications from its transit or retrograde motion. In the latter case, Mars will sometimes move back and forth through two houses. In such instances, it will have an effect in both areas, with the main emphasis associated with the house in which the most aspects are made or, without aspects, where it spends the most time..."

It is (was) transiting the 2nd house and conjunct natal Saturn as well (if that adds to it).
Does that fact that this is now over change it or is it a bit of a lasting effect, even now that Mars is in Sag?

Thanks a lot AJ.

Hey - no problem. Well, so you have your Saturn in your 2nd House along with your Mars? Am I understanding that correctly?

"Mars Transits Through Your 2nd House:

Action with money. Unfortunately, Mars doesn't care if the money is coming in or going out. Watch expenses, particularly impulse buying. This is definitely not a good time to buy a big ticket item. You will tend to overpay. But it is good if you have to put in some overtime and earn extra cash."

AND

"Mars Transits in Aspect to Your Natal Saturn:

On the positive side, Mars transiting your natal Saturn is an excellent time for hard work. The tendency of Saturn to concentrate and focus things can work quite well with the raw energy of Mars. These are good times to schedule projects requiring hard work. Be extra careful, though, about working with sharp instruments (Mars) when it aspects Saturn (bad luck) for obvious reasons. The negative side of the Mars/Saturn combination shows up strongest with the stressful aspects, the conjunction, square, and opposition.

Mars activates whatever it touches and Saturn is the point in our horoscope where we feel at our weakest and most vulnerable. Things that you normally wouldn't notice seem especially irritating now. This is not a good day to deal with authority figures or older people (older by at least seven years). Don't ask the boss for a raise today. And watch your temper. This is a very bad time to get into an argument or (God forbid) a fight. Ironically, it is a very good time to plan or practice for a battle, because Saturn rules planning and preparation.

Fortunately, Mars transits usually pass in a couple of days. However, there are exceptions. If Mars turns retrograde or direct in motion while near your Saturn, the effect could last for a few months. And if the aspect is from progressed Mars instead of transiting Mars, the effect could last for two years. In that case, get set for a long period of hard work. I know that sounds like a drag (well, it IS a drag) but if you plan well and aim in the right direction, the rewards will follow after the progression has passed."

How has it been feeling Whiterabbit? Give us a firsthand account.

thank you AJ, I just realized you posted that. I don't know if this is still relevant- but I can tell you that just around the time of the conjunction (which I wasn't aware of at the time) I had an extremely passionate sexual encounter. However, I find that since then my incredible horniness of late has been suddenly and dramatically calmed. Strange! Also- I am finding a very strong saturn-mars feel to things lately- need to get down to business- get things done- but in sort of a chaotic way.. I am also feeling a lot of restrictions- particularly financial restrictions stopping me from getting some things done. Also just a sudden need for ACTION, makes sense, no? And a need to be more present in my own life, if you know what I mean...
But I'm feeling it was very fleeting, the mars things, like I'm back to a lack of energy even though I have such a need for it.

I just had my Mars Return myself earlier this month with Mars in the Return Chart 4th House conjunct the 5th House cusp and within 5 degrees of 5th House Venus. With that 5th House-cusp conjunction and close to Venus, hopefully it means that I'll have a fired-up love life this Mars go-round.
...But then we are talking about Mars here, who is a fighter rather than a lover, so it probably means I'll be having a lot of knock-down drag-out clashes in my love life instead.
