ok I admit it...I'm a complete slob. I hate housework and I would rather crawl a mile on broken glass to the dentist's office than do windows.

...So am I a complete disgrace to my sign? Or are there other sloppy Virgos out there willing to admit to this totally Anti-Virgo behavior?

Come look at my bedroom I only really seem to like cleaning my car, and the occasional massive cleaning, but otherwise forget it! I feel like I have too many other things to do than constantly clean!

Well, not me, but I know a Sun/Moon Virgo, and man oh man, his skills in cleanliness.. both his person and his surroundings are well... horrifying. I always take that as par for the course.... some signs are not at all like their supposed to be.. lmost as an affront to Astrology, but it seems to work still.. he is a Virgo very much in other senses.. but it seems he is the anti-Virgo in the area that Virgos are renowned for. Like a challlenge in extremes. One or the other. I have also known Cancers who weren't domestic at all.. sure, she sewed alot and wanted to do house duty stuff, but the house was strwen with half eaten cereal dishes and half finished garments. She talked a big game about how her children were her all, and her calling in life, yet they have severe emotional/social problems, and acting out due to neglect and her woe-is-me attitude about her own life. In each example, I see the traits coming out that are 'supposed' to, but they are in the opposite direction.... something very apparent, but opposite. It was obvious this Virgo was a slob.. something you'd comment on... it was obvious this Cancer ( with four Cancer placements in her chart) was un-domestic... one of the first things you'd notice about these people.. and that in itself is Astrology to me... scewed and twisted in its simplicity.

I have actually never met a Virgo who has a clean room, but I have discovered something about all of them- even if they themselves are messy they still like things to be clean and tidy and have a deep emotional need for it- and a great respect for those who are clean and tidy. This Virgo friend I have literally fell in love with me when he saw my place for the first time and realized that I have my books organized alphabetically and by genre and especially when he saw my bathtub... you should have heard his praise! My Virgo ex had a terribly messy apartment- but some of our worst fights were when he got angry at the way I didn't clean the kitchen before starting to cook. My mother, who has a Virgo moon, has spent all of her life trying to organize her "papers"- they always look terrible- she can't organize for sh*t but this has been a lifelong struggle and dream of hers- it is SO important to her. And I remember her emotional well-being literally depended on whether or not I did the dishes before she came home. She's always telling me on the phone that next weekend she's "cleaning the house properly" and inviting me over...

As sloppy as I am, I have this weird hang-up about the neatness of magazines. I hate it when my magazines, especially the covers, get creased or - horrors! - ripped. Then I get all fussy about it. lol
Having four planets in Virgo, I guess the neatness factor had to come out in one form or another.

Well, I have Virgo sun, Virgo Ascendant, and Virgo Mercury, and well....yeah I'm not very tidy around the house or my room.

But when it comes to my car or my own appearance, I'm a neatfreak! (like using Q-tips to clean the airvents in my car.)

But isn't cleaning the home and your own room more associated with the moon? Mine's in Gemini, so maybe thats why I don't clean until absolutely necessary. hehe

I'm also not a typical neaty virgo. I have a pisces asc. and moon in gemini tho. I do enjoy clean things however, I absolutley love the smell of lemon pine sol. Maybe I wouldn't if i used it all the time!

I'm not much into house cleaning products - ha. But when it comes to cleaning products for the body, then I'm there. I looove soaps and bath products and body lotions, especially the clean, citrus-y smelling ones. But I'm not too big on heavily perfumed things. I even want my perfumes and colognes to smell lemon fresh. I love going into stores like Bath & Body Works and Victoria's Secret and swooning over all the lotions and bath washes.

I almost got a job at the Bath and Body Works.

Love all their products, and all of Victoria Secret's stuff too. (Libran Venus)

Perfumes are usually too heavy, so I opt for body splashes.

My Venus is in Scorpio so I should be into heavily scented and strong perfumes but I'm not. Well actually I used to really like that strong perfume 'Poison' back when I was younger. But then the heavy scent of that and other similarly strong perfumes and colognes gave me such terrible headaches and infected my already bad sinuses that I turned against them completely. And walking through the perfume section of mall department stores is a horror for me as all of the combined scents assault my poor sinuses and inevitably gives me a migraine headache.

My Leo Moon is in the 7th House, which is kinda like having a Libra Moon, so maybe that explains my love of girly, fresh scents.

Im a sloppy virgo but only to a point. Then i absolutely have to clean up. My aries husb. is a terrible slob and I HATE IT..... Laundry baskets of clothes everywhere in the bedroom. I HATE THAT. Papers and magazines all over the kitchen. Can't stand that. I also read that when a virgo has a lot of emotional issues they will be sloppy. I am that way too. I noticed this past weekend a family matter got resolved. I immediately started to clean the house. I feel my life is in order when the house is in order.

Was it Linda Goodman who said that Virgo's will be either compulsively clean or completely sloppy? I think that sometimes all that compulsion to be perfect can be too much, so that if it cannot ALL be perfect, then they do nothing at all. Just like my Venus & Pluto Conjunct in Virgo in my 4th. If things are not "perfect" in romance or home, I sort of avoid the whole thing altogether, as in, running away from home, or being celibate.

sassygrrrl -

The creases in the mag's, and the bath stuff seems to me, more related to all things Libran. You said you didn't have anything in Libra? My Libra Sun is this way, since Libra rules books.

thirteen, I've read that too, Virgos in emotional distress tend to be rather sloppy! (it is true here!)

AJ, I feel similar to the whole "if its not perfect, then I dont bother" thing.

And I thought Venus in general rules perfumes and nice smelling scents...but I do have Libran venus in the 2nd house.(its home there).

Emotional distress, eh? ahhhhh so that explains it. I'm in a CONSTANT state of distress so no wonder I'm so disorganized.

A.J ~ No I don't have any planets in Libra. But I do have five planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Uranus, & Pluto) in the 7th House which is supposed to be the same as if those planets were in Libra. So I suppose I have a strong Libra influence anyway despite not having any planets in that sign. I have always loved fashion, soft and feminine colors, and basically all things girly, which isn't supposed to be stereotypical Virgoean behavior.

whiterabbit, your mom sounds a little like me with my own daughter. i have trained her to clean up after herself at a very young age, however she is a scatter bug gemini. she will literally leave trails of toys, crayons, paper, teeny tiny doll bits. its like her purpose in life is to mess with mommy. i truly need to relax a bit on this stuff, afterall, she is only 3, but emotionally, i need a clean clutterfree home.

that being said, i have a housekeeper once a week and i just hired someone else to come in on fridays to do help out with projects around the house.

the thing is, i never do anything half-asssed. so it takes more energy out of me to focus on tasks. and with virgo's sensitve nervous systems, we need to keep our energy well balanced. some people enjoy cleaning. for me its overwhelming.

my leo husband..uggggg. suffice to say he is a problem child.

I'm so glad this thread's been started!

I have always been untidy and got told off for it at boarding school.

I was also late for almost everything and I constantly overslept.

Tidiness depresses me and I haven't cleaned my flat for months.

My sun, mars and venus are in Virgo and moon in Cancer, with ascendant in Pisces.

Plus Jupiter in Pisces in the first house doesn't help.

Virgo here ... Sag rising and Leo moon ...

So true about the stress thing .. I'm either a complete neat freak, where my total house is in order (bills, clothes, Cds, cleaned house) or a complete total mess ... and the later happens when I'm having a bad week, bad dating relationship or feeling in a funky mood ...

I'm not obesssive about cleaning and order but I have Virgo friends that are complete and utter slobs ... we are either one or the other

And even consider that sloppiness is a form of proof to our Virgo senses that there IS such a thing as organized chaos in life, as if sloppiness is the "training wheels" analogous to an imperfect world surrounding us.

Can also be creativity at work. But can also be used subconsiously to keep one depressed or feeling undeserving of better. So watch out! It's a fine line.

The worst thing for me personally is when someone comes in and starts nagging and placing everything where they think it should be. Such a violation to me, unless it is a joint effort we both agree on, in which case, it's great!

I'm a very sloppy virgo. I read somewhere that virgos want to be clean but in reality are untidy because they dont like to get their hands dirty by cleaning... that is very true of me! I'd rather just not do it. A messy house is..... at least comfortable!

I'm a sag with virgo moon and asc. My moon is in excact conj with the asc. This is a funny thread...
I tend to have rigid order *inside* closets and cupboards - and complete chaos on the outside. I suppose most people don't value my alphabethically sorted CDs or the little stickers on the kitchen shelves when they see all the used plates and cutlery in the sink
I HATE icky things on my fingers, and yes; The most perfect place to rest and recharge batteries is in the bath tub - if allowed, I can stay up to 4 hours in the tub

Syndatha ~ I love taking baths too.
And of course I like adding nicely scented stuff to the bathwater.
...and then I'm REALLY in ecstasy.
