woah! i've always heard that capricorn ascendants start out old due to having been made to be too responsible as children, but that as they get older, they shake off that saturn more and more (would seem like a reasonable reward that saturn would offer for all that hard work!) and actually become like children; more carefree, lively, able to live fully without feeling burdened.

well i'm 25 (almost 26!) and i've had fibromyalgia for 5 years. ihad a way overly-responsible childhood, and am a single mother to two kids. i'd like to think that as i learn to cope more effectively, and use my resources wisely, that this will be what happens.

then, last night, i was reading a book by robert hand from 1977, in which he says as cap ascendant ages, they get even OLDER!!??

okay.. has anyone else heard this? cuz i've always heard it's the other way around.. ideas?

Hi!
I'm Cap Asc too so i'd be interested to know more. I've always felt older than my years but with a Sag Sun I can be young too:-)

Oh, me too, SparklingSag!

My mom always said I was born an old woman when I was a little kid, which would be my Cap asc.

It's weird having an ascendent so opposite from the sun sign. I'm a Sag, too, but when people first meet me, I'm totally reserved and shy. Then they get to know me and it's a flip-around.

Yes, me too!! I have a cappy ascendant and was a very SERIOUS child....very responsible, upright, conservative. I felt restrictive in my self expression and ability to let go and have fun, be silly, let go. I envied my firey friends who were much more carefree. I am now 35, and more carefree every year. I experience larger and larger doses of freedom all the time. And actually, I kinda like it that way. More time as an adult to enjoy that sense of carefree personal liberation.
Horay for Saturn's gifts!
Didn't think I'd ever say that.

Maybe passing the milestone of the first Saturn return has something to do with the beginning of the age reversal process?

i have a saturn ascendant *in cancer* and this plays out much the same way as cap asc. my understanding is our outlook, appearance, demeaner becomes YOUNGER.

purple sparkles, which book are ya lookin' at? coincidentally, i had a reading with rob hand last week. he really knows his stuff. one thing he did mention about my status w/ sat ascending is that we need *adults* as mates. he said for me(and this may apply to cap asc also), it is best to be with a man 15+ my senior.

i was def. an old woman at 10. always had a job as a small child, washed cars @ 7, cleaned my uncles house when i was 8 years old. my earliest memories are working, earning a buck or two. i beyond wise and set in my ways. had very definate ideas about life. as i mature in years i find myself going the other way. finding the little girl in me and playing more.

I have a Capricorn asc. This isn't very good for me combined with my Virgo Mercury. It makes me feel a lot of responsibility and then I worry about it a lot... I find it really hard to unwind and stuff so I ******* hope this thing reverses.

yeah, me too. and that's why this shocked me! i really do feel like i'm letting go a little more every year.. like things are getting slightly easier.

the book is Planets in Youth, and it's written in 1977, so maybe it's just dated? older astrology texts seem to be a little more dismal, in my experience. hmm.

i think your saturn return is every 7 years (?) from birth.. so when you are 7, 14, 21, 28, etc.. i'm not sure that it's exact, tho..

oh i get it.. there are 4 quarters to the saturn cycle. so is there a relevance to where saturn is in your chart every 7 years that would make it so challenging/important?

transiting saturn would be squaring or opposing natal saturn every 7 years. I have sat in cancer, i'm 30 years old. at approximately 37 years, sat will be in libra. at 44 sat is in cap, then in aries, etc.

no, not visiting rob in person. we have phone sessions. i'm in california, he is in vermont or conneticut (i forget). anyone can have a reading with him. $175 for 1-1.5 hours and $125 subsequent sessions thereafter. so worth the money. and he is one cool dude!

oh miss maya, one must only believe!!

the most significant things that happened to me before i met him were:

-i learned that i DESERVED love.. and just how much i have in me to GIVE. put the two together and realized i was READY

-i would write about meeting him, what he would have to be like.

-i would talk to him and God, on long walks, open my heart and get excited about it..

and he is everything i ever wanted..

seriously, maya, just believe, and know that you deserve it!! you do!

Yeah - I think if there's more Saturian influences, including where you find the Sign of Capricorn, the Planet Saturn, or the 10th House in the Chart, is where one enters into things in a very serious manner. As time goes on, the hard Saturian lessons become more second-nature, and the reward is getting to just RELAX.

Hi all,
Sorry late in replying. Interesting Zoso that we are Sag sun and Cap Asc...it makes me very ambitious but at the same time I want to be a wanderer, free and unihibited. It's getting easier now I'm getting older. (21).
My moon is Leo so that makes me fiery and my mercury is in Sag too. But I think my Cap Asc is my only earth in my chart so its much needed!

Hi Sparkles,
Sorry I'm late in responding!
You know that's true about getting younger as you get older.
I'm a Cappie Rising and I'm enjoying the aging process as it were.
I remember when I was much much younger I enjoyed hanging out with the adults more than children my own age. They just seemed more interesting to me and besides they sounded like they were having such a great time laughing and singing songs all the time.
I remember having this underlying melancholy growing up even though I had a pretty normal childhood making mud pies, climbing trees, playing hide and seek...Maybe the sadness comes from my Cap.Asc. or my Venus in Pisces?
Anyway, I really really enjoy being 38 and look forward to another 38 more!
