Anyone have this placement? Do you find yourself attracting fiery types of partners/individuals? Or do you, yourself act firey in relationships?

Are you argumentative, quick tempered, or controlling in partnerships or do you usually have those types of partners? Or have you experienced violence in your relationships?

Do you act out your Mars, or do you let others, or your partners act it out for you?

I've read the positive outlet for this placement is to have an "active partnership". Try to get out and do as many activities with a partner as possible, so fights dont break out.

"Marriage partner is combatative and bad tempered if Mars is afflicted. Early and hasty marriage without due forethought. Strife in marriage if afflicted. Apt to want his own way, and if get's it, all is well." (~Isabel Hickey)

My 7th house Mars in Leo is afflicted and alot of this relates to some of my past relationships.

But the hasty marriage is ruled out, I believe, because of my Saturn also placed in this house.

Just wondering how other Mars in the 7th housers experience/feel about this placement and how it has affected their lives.

Mars shows what you are most passionate about as well. Where it is placed is where you want to release it. It's where you want to direct your energy, or are most comfortable doing so. Mine in Leo, the sign of heart, and being in the seventh house of partnerships, holds alot of truth as well.

Hey 26

I have Mars in Pisces, in the 7th, which is ruled by Aquarius. I am mostly attracted to men (and people in general) whom I perceive to be different, iconoclastic, individualistic. Very much that Aqua vibe.
My Mars, which could be perceived as weak, being in Pisces, is also in mutual reception to Neptune in Scorpio...so I kinda get a Mars in Scorpio. I'm often attracted to people with a strong Scorp influence. Sexually, I'm one of the most open- and broad-minded people I know. That's not conceit, just what I've observed.

Personally, I don't worry about that whole 'afflicted' stuff; it's nonsense to me. The position of the stars are gifts to us, energies for us to use. We are still in control of how we use them. Some lessons we learn easily, some require a little more work.

A Mars in Leo probably makes you warm and generous, and a strong partner in a relationship, who likes a lot of attention.

26T I too have this placement! The marriage stuff is ruled out by my Venus Square Uranus I believe...very individualistic and needing my space in a relationship.

I seem to attract pushy dudes, which then lead me to get frustrated and angry, which has always led to a big yelling arguement. It's weird because I always see it as a power struggle with guys I had only beginning relationships with (nothing too serious)...they would want to dominate, they'd be rather aggressive about it, I'd get mad that they didn't want mutality so instead of leaving I'd just tighten my reigns and get a bit aggressive myself.

I seem to be the fiery one though, just like...high-energy, always wanting the relationship to reach a newer level, always wanting there to be excitement...the activities as much as possible thing is right on in my case. I NEED someone who can do a variety of activities, rather frequently, or I get bored very fast. Like if I had a dude who could go to a show on a Sunday, then a movie and dinner during the week, and then like a road trip the next weekend, I'd be set.

My last relationship was weird...we were both high-energy in a sense, I wasn't very argumentative and neither was he at first, till he started being controlling and passive-aggressive until I left. So it's like, at first, he acted out the Mars, until I got fed up with it and built up to a huge fury of angst and frustration and hurt, we had like 3 screaming matches, and then I left.

Hi trill

Interesting you should say that - about the ruler of your 7th house. I was just thinking about how my 7th is ruled by Cancer, but Leo is intercepted there. I can be very Cancerian and motherly in relationships and other times (alot of the time) be very Leo-like. Showering my mate with love and affection. Putting them on a pedestal. I do expect the same in return though. You are right about being warm and generous. Strong? Yes.

I agree about putting our star map or planetary energy to it's most positive use. It IS our choice.

Interesting about your placements and the men you are attracted to. "Sexually, I'm one of the most open- and broad-minded people I know." I believe it! I've yet to meet a sexually narrow minded Aries anyway. LOL

Another observation. I find that I attract/am often attracted to moody men, which I could attribute to Cancer on the DC. I dont mind a moody, quiet, reserved guy though. *shrugs* I usually find that under all that seriousness, there is alot of warmth and depth.

Thank you for your insight.

my ex Libra had this placement in Libra/7th house. He was very argumentative with me and combative, but then again I am very stubborn. Eventually we got along okay...he did marry very young and became more interested in real love as he got older. But he was really angry because he was unassertive.

I have Mars/1st house in Sag, and I am fiery,
Mars is the ruler of my Venus

I have noticed Mars in the 7th is very sweet and gentle with the opposite sex regarding making love. Affection is tops, very tender, charming, could charm a nun into sleeping with him in her underwear, that kind of thing. Mars in the 7th also makes a wonderful nurse or therapist, especially with those who have sexuality issues.

This is because this placement had sexuality issues in the past, either with a lack of trust, or faith, or just not enough tenderness. For that reason the placement can go without for a long time, and seek out the perfect partner.

Hey VTT,

I lost a huge post to you last night when my computer decided to shut down and I couldnt get a connection back up. Anyway.....Yep, I know all too well about the "pushy dudes". Dealt with alot of those in my day. Yelling matches and power struggles, you name it. Moreso a few years back though. I think I've grown out of that whole thing.

I've been with a few really aggressive, jealous, @-holes. I guess I had things to learn from these relationships. And I did learn alot. About myself, relationships, what I want and dont want - or deserve.

It's funny, about the high-energy, action oriented relationsips, maybe I should try to integrate that more into my relationships. They tend to get stagnant after awhile and then you start annoying each other. Honestly though, I dont really need or want a high energy relationship. I'm pretty simple. I could be happy cuddling up with my man every night watching movies, talking, just being around him. Only if it's the right guy though, obviously. I dont want or need to always be "on the go", looking for a new activity everyday, or traveling. I dont know why, call me boring, lol...but I could care less about that stuff. As long as it's the right person, I dont care what we do (or dont do) together. I really don't get bored easily.

Though I can see where integrating those things into the relationship helps. Because like I said, if you dont things can get stagnant and old. But that is bound to happen in any long term relationship to a degree.

Interesting what you say about your last relationship. I think in my relationships I go back and forth between being the "Mars person" and letting the other person take it over once in awhile. If that makes sense.

Hi st henri,

Your ex sounds like a typical 7th house Mars person. Interesting that he did marry young and hastily it seems.

I think your assesment of Mars in the 7th seems pretty right on. Yes, I can "go without for a long time" while waiting for the "perfect" partner. Indeed. I dont believe in perfection though.

Hi all!!!

I have Mars in the 7th house as well... Hmmmm... Yes, I do love fiery types... Not only as boyfriends... I kind of collect them as best friends, good friends and all the sort...

Romantically I usually go for hot passion and depth... Intense Scorps are my favourite... I suppose, being a Virgo they mix well with me... And I absolutely love that darkness and mystery, that inmense power, the cold mask covering their burning core...I also had an Aries... It has to be active, intense, mind-blowing... I also have Venus in Leo, I suppose that helps... I like romance taken to the extreme, Romeo and Juliet kind of thing ... Moon and Neptune in Sag, both cojunct with my Asc...

I am very demanding because I´m prepared to give all I have, so I expect the same in return... My ex used to say, with me it was all or nothing. I´m not prepared to be second best, not with my lover... And yes, I love arguments but not quarrels... However, I can become confrontational and aggresive if my needs are overlooked and I´m not treated with respect... I admit I may be too demanding and require something close to adoration

Yes... It has to be passionate, it has to be powerful and romantic ... Otherwise I get bored... And frustrated... As if I couldn´t express my own passion and intensity...

Natasha, I do think I´m sweet and gentle to the opposite sex... I don´t have sex, I make love...

Hi steelrose! What a cute post. Yep, you summed up us Mars in the 7th's perfectly. "It has to be passionate, powerful and romantic." I'm also not prepared to be second best with a partner (Mars in Leo). I must recieve what I give.

Is your Mars in Leo as well? I find I am a Scorpion magnet as well. But I've never dated one. I've had a few that were um....obsessed (my opposite sign) with me, but the ones I know are the jealous, possesive type and I cant stand that. My most passionate relationship was with an Aries. And Leo's are right up there too. I find as time goes on though, that I'm more interested in the stable earth signs. I've been burned by the fire too many times now.

Steelrose- you wrote-

" I am very demanding because I´m prepared to give all I have, so I expect the same in return... My ex used to say, with me it was all or nothing. I see that myself...but I have Mars in Pisces in the 6th house. However..I do have my Moon in Aries in the 7th house.

This week is a perfect example. Right now Mr. Taurus and I are not doing so well. I am not sure what is going to happen.

He has been away in MO for training..and his classes keep him busy. But, when he has time on the weekends he has been hanging out with old friends / couples and that seems to take up a lot of his time. I KNOW that he loves and misses me, but I am starting to feel "put on the shelf", when he does call he is either, tired (he has to go to bed early to get up 3:45am for PT), in a hurry, distracted, or with other people. He says he misses me and loves me- but then I feel like "if you really did, then you would set aside some quality time to talk to me".

I know he hates being alone and is catching up with old friends. I also know that he would get depressed just sitting in his room at the barracks. BUT..when he doesn't call as frequently and I feel like I am the one sending the cute e-mails, letters and text messages..yeah, it gets on my nerves.

So I called him the other night and asked him if he wanted to break up. I told him I felt that he was too busy and maybe I was holding him back. Basically, I was trying to tell him I felt neglected- but I didn't want him to explode and say that I need to be babied. Hell, I'd like to see him live in a town where he knows NO ONE, with out a job and now without his mate for 3 months. He still exploded..told me how could I call him the night before a test and do this (it was only 9:30pm his time). He was so angry.. told me that I needed help.. God, what a mess!

We haven't talked since Monday night. He hasn't returned my calls or e-mails. I won't try him again. I just hope he isn't holding this against me- but in the same vein I feel like I should be able to voice my opinion and not be second or third..etc...

I wonder if the Moon in the 7th being ruled by Mars (since it is in Aries) has the same affect as Mars in the 7th?

terrific post 26T

Mars/Gemini/7th house here can be verbally combative/sarcastic.

I am competitive with partners but fairly, sportsmanship is very important (Sag rising) Mars in the 7th wants to win, but if they're a women they'd like to lose honestly, at least I would, it would be nice to not always be the most capable, but to be able to follow instead of always leading. My leading doesn't come from wanting to be the boss but from having the best idea/method (Gemini)

Pidua, I think your Virgo rising is blunt and to the point. Do you think your Taurus sees you as independent so he doesn't think you need as much attention?

I tend to that with my friends, baby the ones that need the attention and if I see someone as independently minded, I will back off. You are a very independent woman, but you have your needs too, it sounds like you are getting fed up with expressing yourself.

Hope things are better and Mr. Taurus calls soon, it's no fun being alone for you either.

Hi lala ,

Wow another 7th house Mars person. Yes, there is a time to lead and a time to follow. The part from Isabel Hickey that I quoted above; "Apt to want his own way, and if gets it, all is well." Always cracks me up. I will be honest thought and admit that that can be true with me sometimes. ehh..hehe... ....dont know about anyone else. And I dont like to be bossed around. But that is a Taurus and a fixed sign thing anyway.

Hi Natasha,

Yep, I think that you hit it right on the head. Sometimes I think he sees me as being so independent that when I do "need" to express something it throws him off. Then again, he is always asking for me to be more "sentimental and expressive".

We worked it out. He was very angry, but then cooled down and once again (in a calmer way) I explained to him my point of view. He didn't realize that I was missing his morning phone calls or that I really missed him as much as I do. I didn't realize that my cards / e-mails kept his spirits up- he just took it for granted that I knew.

It is so hard to communicate at times over the phone- especially when two people are busy. The Army doesn't give a person much time in training- promotion or not..by the way, Mr Taurus got a 94% on his test..(I told him, then what was the fuss about..he says "I could have had a 100%"...My answer 'When have you ever gotten a 100% on a test)..he laughs "well..there is always a first time".

His main point about being angry was that I woke him up from a dead sleep before a test. That and I sometimes don't realize the affect my words have on him. He told me that when we fight or when he senses that I am getting "worried" about our relationship he feels all clenched up inside..one time he said he feels like he is going to have a heart attack. I think that he carries his most sensitive emotions inside- why Bulls do that when they get closer to a person is beyond me.

With us Archers the opposite is true. The closer I get to a person, the more I want to express- the more I need to talk. The Bull gets uneasy about the discussion as if it will lead to uncovering a reason for us not to be together. I think it is even more compounded with the fact that he has a Taurus rising- so he just trudges ahead- NOT worrying about the little things and NOT wanting to analyze the relationship.

Then here comes along someone like me...I let me mind think of all the options, possibilities and such- that way we can look at it, deal with it and go on. I would never want to end up down the road saying "Why didn't we ever think about that?" LOL...

He and I are both very touch oriented. So when we feel sad, happy or we want to reassure the other, it is with a touch or a hug. It is hard to do that over the phone I told him the other way that I feel included (this is total Sag and Virgo rising) is when he tells me about his day, what he working on or how his tests went. To me that is another expression of love, because he wants me to know his life...does that make sense?

Wow...relationships are odd- but I'll tell ya, I did NOT like being ignored for a day! Next time I have an issue, I will not start it off with "Do you want to break up?" LOL...

"Next time I have an issue, I will not start it off with "Do you want to break up?"

HAHA..my taurus boyfriend did that, and guess where I was in an hour...driving back to NY, single! (There had been a lot of build-up though, and he kept asking me that repeatedly for like a week)

Pidaua, I´m glad you sorted out your problems with your Mr. Taurus... I actually have never got a Taurus... But I did have a Scorp (fixed sign again) who used to bottle up all emotion and leave me in the dark... I was supposed to know I was important... And I got sick of it... Of feeling always the last thing to consider, the last in the queue for quality time... Of never being told anything nice or heart warming...

I needed that feedback... Unfortunatelly he never understood my point... I need to be reassured VERBALLY... I felt so neglected I was constantly trying to make hin react... And yes, most of the time I was so frustrated that the only way I could find was being sarcastic... When I was expecting some kind of calming, I got silence, which only made things worse... His Libra rising made him try to avoid confrontation at all costs... even when that avoidance was what kept me hurting him more trying to get response... I actually also did that “Do you want to break up” thing myself trying to make him react...

Yes, Lala, as you know I am Mars/Gemini/7th house like you... And I can become very sarcastic and verbally combative... Being a Virgo adds up to the equation... My tongue is really sharp and witty... and hurting when I want to... Especially when I´m out of control because my Mars in the 7th feels neglected...

Pidaua, it´s funny that I´m a Sag rising... Because I also want to express more the closer I´m to a person... I´m a Virgo with Sag ascendant and you are a Sag with Virgo ascendant... weird or what?

Hi Trillian,

Well, according to my birth certificate I am a Virgo rising- but when I had a birth rectification chart done it said that I was a late Leo rising.

With a Leo rising, that would put my Mars in the 7th house..and moon in the 8th- both seem to apply. But, I do have a strong 4th house Sun that is lost with the Leo rising.

My mom swears that the birth certificate was right- but I kid her about being stressed from almost giving birth to me in the toilet (LOL..the nurses left her alone..she had to goooo..then they came in and said "OMG..the baby's head is coming out")....

So I am still at a loss as to which to go with

I have Mars in the 7th House in the sign of Virgo. I noticed that I kind of attract "backstabbers." I seem to recall that open enemies are represented by this house, so maybe that's it? And also people who seem to want to "challenge" me in every way.

Regarding relationships... I think I'm quite the aggressive first mover. I just don't have the patience to wait around. But then again it might be Aries Moon.

Mars in the Seventh House:-

Quarrels and dangers in the married state. In a male horoscope, the wife is frequently a virago, bearing a high hand in domestic affairs, industrious but dictatorial; in Cancer or Pisces, often a drunkard. In a female horoscope, sudden death of husband, or some serious accident to him. The native is constantly exciting opposition and strife. Violence often results.

I have Mars in Libra in the 7th House. I don't really attract fiery partners. However, I do admit that I myself tend to be rather quick tempered and argumentative. I've noticed that sometimes I pick an argument just for the sake of it. In relationships I am usually the one who wants to take it to the next level. And I require quite a bit of attention (which might also be caused by my Leo Moon, I think).

Luckily I also have Venus in the 7th, so that helps to keep the balance.

Hey Natasoula! I also have Venus in the 7th. You said that it helps balancing the nature of Mars, that's kind of relieving to me as I was afraid that because Venus and Mars are in the same house they would cancel each other out. I certainly hope Venus would help softening the harsh aspects of Mars in this house as it's such a beautiful house...

Me too! Maybe that's why I'm seen as quite aggressive, even though I'm a Pisces Rising.

I have this placement, too! I've had a lot of difficulty in relationships with partners that were: controlling, abusive, insecure and generally hated women. That was all when I was younger, and I like to think now that I'm older and wiser, I can weed those people out. The result - I am terrified all men will act that way, which is why I so closely identify with this:

For that reason the placement can go without for a long time, and seek out the perfect partner.

I have gone without for the longest time and will not be with a man unless I know he isn't like the others. I guess I'm pretty scarred emotionally. I'm rambling, sorry.

Anyhow, In the 7th I have a stellium; I have Mars in sagg (0 degrees), Jupiter in sagg ( 1 degree), and Neptune in sagg (2 degrees) - And my seventh house is ruled by scorpio!

I know all of this is bad. I have a question... What effect does the ruling sign of the house have on the planets, and in the chart (in my case scorpio with a stellium). And, what do my very low degrees do to this aspect and house?
