Although the time is very important in order to get the correct ascendant, within a chart and an absolute if you were to want to progress or do predictive astrology - you can still get a fairly accurate understanding of one anothers basic make up without it. I personnaly would use mid-day as the timings, for starters.

All the planets would be pretty much as close as they would be anyway, to the exact positions - with the slight exceptions of the faster ones if they were on the cusp of a sign etc.. but nothing too drastic to worry about.

The quickest way would be to go onto ASTRO.COM and throw in your two sets of birth data using mid-day as a time. If you wanted, you could put one at mid-day and the other at mid-night?? it's a fab site and will throw up your charts and some good info for free, in seconds.
