Do you find those aspects made purely "by degree" (that is, by sign they don't aspect, but by degree they do) to be of any different flavor than those by sign and element?

Valid or not valid at all?

Looking forward to your input

Hey.. in theory I think these aspects are meant to be different. As the story goes everywhere I've read about this, the planets involved both express their energies through a certain sign.. so for instance an Aries venus Mars Capricorn conjunction or trine (even close) would involve squared energies (energies that dont blend well), but that are nonetheless in a positive aspect. So I think in theory this positive aspect would mellow down the influence of the squared signs and hopefully make for a nice blend of energies. Also in theory I think these aspects are meant to be weaker.

In practice, however I didn't find them to feel different both in synastry and natal, it either felt positive or negative depending on the aspect, and the signs made no difference (no difference I could feel anyways). So in my personal opinion it doesnt make a difference.. i'm sure many would disagree though.

If it does make a difference, I'd imagine it'd be a positive one (not the "weaker aspect" version I've been hearing), because when two squared signs or opposed signs (or even just different signs) are brought together in a positive aspect, it should make the energies collaborate and what better than such different energies actually getting along and working together as opposed to bickering..
