just a curiosity really...I know that we are really really affected by our environments...but do you notice that you really change bigtime with whatever you are doing/wherever you are? There are days that I'll spend all day being social, meeting up with friends and hanging out with them, then finding other friends...I am usually so freaked out by the time I get home, because of the constant changes in atmosphere, emotions, activities, people that I cannot function. I wind up needing a full day to recooperate (staying at home all day or in an extremely familiar surrounding all by myself) before I can do it all over again or sustain any sort of stable energy.

Any other 1st house moon peeps deal with this? Or even remedied the loss of self feeling after being around others in new experiences all day?

Hey VTT-I am trying to understand your synopsis...you hang out and are social all day...and what exactly freaks you out?

What do you mean by: "then finding other friends..."??? It reads like a sentence/thought that is not completed and could have many meanings...please clarify.

My guy has Pisces Moon in 1st and I notice he gets more calm after he talks with me...Ex. His intensity may be on the 'spunky' side that day and then, it almost seems like he is freaking about something (of which he does not say)!! Almost like he can't seem to ground himself until he hears my voice. Happened this past Monday...I would really like to understand you Moon in 1st house people much better. Please describe these feelings a bit more if you don't mind-Thanks!

Hi,

I have a Libra Moon in my first house. I notice I have 'cycles' similar to the moon. But, these 'cycles' are emotional in nature. My emotions can be highly changeable. I am not saying I am 'unstable' LOL. I just can vary from day to day from moment to moment. I also notice that around the actual full moon, I feel a bit more emotional than most days...ah, the moontime LOL...

I really need alone time to decompress, but I think that has more to do with me being an energy empath/intuitive. Even with shielding and grounding, I get tired. I think I have a connection to lunar cycles that goes beyond what I can even try to explain with words...LOL.

I think it's good just to honor my needs and to be okay with the idea that they are changeable...

Hope I make sense...

I can definitely corroborate this. I've got a 1st house moon, and its totally at odds with my self-determined Scorpio Sun/Uranus.

It helps somewhat that the moon is in Aquarius, the sign of independence, which is both fixed and masculine in its expression. Still, I am so utterly exposed to my environment by the placement of the Moon; 10° from the ASC, a singleton in the lower hemisphere of the chart (unless you count Chiron in the 3rd), - that the independence I should like to express is almost smothered by a constant absorbtion of my environment, including the personalities of those immediately present.

A 1st house Moon is, on the other hand, a significant boon, in that it allows me to identify with anyone (also an Aquarian principle), to the extent that I am able to reflect the essence of their true self. My usual Scorpio ego defenses go down, and nothing altogether personal seems much to apply. The personality, then, is almost reduced to the condition of a language, a medium, through which to express a deeper connection. In this sense, and ideally, a 1st house moon can make someone "multi-lingual", so intuitive and sensitive to the subtlest variations in "dialect", while, at the same time, being able to maintain a firm position above and beyond the concerns of "mortal tongues", so to speak.

It is a truly divine power, which can be accessed by the 1st house mooner; when she is willing to relinquish her own personal defenses, there can be no defense against her, so magnetic and secure is her attraction.

1st House Moon in Scorpio.

It's a ***** .

You hit the nail on the head VTT.

Intense yet confused in my case. Emotionally disorientated a lot of the time. Have to muster all my willpower to keep my identity to the fore if Scorpionic energy is working for me. Or retreat for days as a Pisces to shake off "everyone else" and slowly emerge as myself again.

Like I said, its a ***** . And other people would NEVER get it.

Did you ever find yourself talking to a Southerner in a Southern accent, or a Brit in a British accent, or a Bengali in a Bengalese accent? This seems like it might be a pretty univesal experience...

Now imagine that you find yourself talking to a dog like a dog, a child like a child, a girl like a girl, a boy like a boy, a joker like a joker, a conservative like a conservative, a punk like a punk, an artist like an artist, an intellectual like an intellectual, an eccentric like an eccentric...

Now imagine you are talking to Joe Smith as Joe Smith, to John Doe as John Doe, etc,...

Talk about an identity crisis!!
(Sometimes you have to be contrary,
just to be anything at all.)

Time alone is ESSENTIAL.
Time to shed the world;
from your shoulders;
and, like a skin-tight mask,
from your face.

I recommend looking into space for a while,
before you go looking in the mirror...
If you want to see yourself.

My ex Libra had this with the moon in Gemini. He was very up and down mood wise a lot like a Cancer. He was also great to have in an argument because he would get so expressive, that others knew what he meant right away. I am much quieter in my expression.

He would also love to eat, and drink,
he's at heart a good person but very hard on himself, and a touch judgemental,

We want to hear how your 'moon' emotions in the first house live...what affects you and what moon sign are you...how does this relate in your day?

Those of us who are not Moon in First want to learn more through practical examples from those of you who have this placement. (That way, we can try and understand you/our friends better).

Thosa - To see why you are so lucky, simply read the entries of all the 1st House Moon people in this very thread. Being oblivious can sometimes be a gift.

For details, what sign is your Moon, what aspects do you have to it, the general kind of thing, you know.

Gemstar - I'd be interested in other peoples' experiences too, and the fact that you seem to care so much is a good sign for the bloke you are with. You sound like you are fairly genuine, or maybe its Gemini curiosity, in which case make sure you want to know for more than superficial reasons as you could do irreperable damage by opening him up and not handling it correctly, but I'm sure you do.

Hey Swerve...Being a Gem Sun does bring along a natural curiosity..blend it with my Scorp Asc and Cancer moon...now what do you see?

My connection with my man is incredibly deep. As far as opening him up, that is a much slower process...he is Gem Sun with Pisces Moon and Pisces Asc. The vulnerability thing is pretty heavy there and I do tread carefully. Sometimes he likes to paint the world a perfect color but I can 'hear' differently through it all by listening to his voice. I can hear so much...that remains unspoken.

So, this is why my curiosity is intrigued. It is takes more effort to understand his Pisces nature as he tends to hide...or even be unsure himself.

I feel that the moon is an important part of my emotions and in my 9th, it is pretty easy to handle.

The more I can understand my man, the better it is for me to connect even deeper with his soul...that is my desire.

Gemstar -

What House does their Moon land in your Chart? I'll guess either the 4th, 7th, 8th, 10th or 11th.

Moon in the First House

The Moon is in the first house. This position indicates that you are strongly influenced by your feelings and moods.

Your awareness of yourself is influenced by your momentary feelings, and this perception is subject to rapid changes of mood and emotion. In time, you will learn to understand why you react as you do to various situations, and then you can begin to change your response patterns and take more control of your life.

Others sense your lack of emotional self-sufficiency and tend to get involved in your personal affairs, even if you try to prevent it. You express your sensitivity through an emotional need to nurture and be nurtured by others. While you would like to have guidance and supervision concerning your goals and objectives, it would be better to achieve your aims independently so that you will not feel obligated to others.

The advantage of this position lies in your ability to sense other people's needs and desires.

In fact, you have a calming effect on people who are under stress, and this makes you ideally suited for working with the public.

Moon in the First House: gives you the traits of the sign of Cancer, moody, sensitive, and with an "instinctive" approach to everything.
When the Moon is rising in the First House at birth and particularly in common or cardinal sign she gives the person then born a very restless nature; he is constantly endeavoring to change his position environment and occupation, is ensouled by an insatiable wanderlust and always ready to roam. When the Moon is rising in a fixed sign there is a little more stability to the nature but even then the person will probably spend at least part of his time in a roving existence. People with the Moon in the First House are usually sensitives, especially if the Moon is in the psychic signs Cancer or Pisces. They have a very vivid imagination and are quite intuitive. This position of the Moon has a powerful influence upon health especially in a woman's horoscope and the aspects which the Moon receives determine the strength of the constitution. It is also a sign of success in such occupations as bring the person in close touch with the public.
MOON in 1st HOUSE: environmental
Moon in the first house indicates individuals with personal magnetism as well as personal ambition. In spite of this, they are emotionally vulnerable and can be highly influenced by others. Their personality and even their physical appearance are subject to constant change. They may, for example, adopt the latest fashions or mode of behavior to assure themselves of being accepted. To cover up any real or perceived weakness in themselves, they are apt to follow one of two paths. Either they work twice as hard as anyone else usually becoming very successful in the bargain, or, they avoid failure by not doing anything at all. They may be successful and competent individuals on the outside but they need continual reassurance on an emotional level. They are apt to be guided or assisted in life by women, or one female in particular. Even so, they constantly seek advice from one source or another.
The moon in the first House represents those whose self awareness and expression are strongly colored by their emotions, early childhood conditioning, and family affairs. Their personal identity tends to be unduly influenced by other people. Changable and moody in their expressions and their responses to the environment, they lack long range direction and purpose. They may be psychic and mediumistic. Other people are likely to become involved in their personal affairs. They have an emotional need for personal recognition, which leads them to seek the approbation of others. They are susceptible to being used. This position gives natives a strong personal involvement with the mother. They often have round or full faces. They have a fondness for food.
Moon in the first house makes the personality sensitive, intuitive, and receptive with strong feelings and imagination. The self can express emotions powerfully, is social and concerned with public life although timid and shy. One's personality may change in response to others.
The Moon that is isolated in a chart or distant from other planets feels exactly that, alone.
You always manage to end up in the limelight, with the support of those around you. You get a lot of mileage out of your appearance and the way you carry yourself and communicate to others. You could make your living from the public.
The Moon in your first house suggests that your feelings are hypersensitive. Your personality is very changeable. You make easy and quick adjustments to the demands of the moment. It's hard for you to be sure just what to do, because you are continuously in a restless state. It's also hard for you to make long-range plans because of the fluctuations in feelings. Frequent mood changes mark your personality. If you are not busy revising your goals and objectives, you are probably procrastinating and unsure about what you want to do and where you want to go. You are both sensitive and responsive to public opinion, so you are easily influenced by those around you.

Thanks HSC!!! So much of that exactly describes my man's Pisces moon in 1st...intuitive, the hardest worker in his practice, very loved by many, very handsome and magnetic, loves food, so 'in control' on the outside-yet only those of us who are close know he is insecure...and even shy and timid on this inside. Likes to run important 'happenings/decisions' by me for confirmation that he said/did the right thing...which at forst surprised me coming from someone so successful! (And yes, his Mom was a beautiful light in his life until she died in his teens)....

That was a fabulous run-down-Thanks again!

Whoa! I've FINALLY come back to my own thread.

I notice cycles similar to the moon too! Drives me insane since the Moon changes signs like every day and a half. My emotions are highly changeable too. I'm more emotional on my lunar returns.

Yes! I need alone time as well. I am a sponge for energy and if it's not a grounding energy that I picked up, well, I need to go "ground" myself.

Damn, HSC, I can totally relate to your first paragraph...probably because my Moon is also in a fixed sign (however feminine), taurus. Yes! Reflecting the essence of the true self of whoever you come across! Indeed! That must be where the identity crisis feeling comes from.

LOL thosa! I said mooners just because my brain couldn't think of anything else.

Hmmm...even environment alone, containing people or not, affects me deeply. Adding people only confuses things more.

The amazing thing is...an Aries friend of mine the first few times of us having lunches together, was totally amazed when I started talking about my emotions to her. She said my exterior, seems very calm and sound, my emotions aren't on the surface.

I can relate somewhat, but, I bet the fact that your moon is in taurus, a sign very connected to nature/environment, has a lot to do with that.

HSC, u say moon in the first house gives traits of cancer...my sun is in cancer, and my moon in first house, this must mean I'm a supercancer...hmm...

Well here's some experience that I've had with my moon in 1st house:

I have a very strong intuition, and I always see through people's masks(maybe scorpio on 3rd housecusp + mercury trine pluto also play a role here)

I can feel other people's pain very strongly(if I allow/want myself to do so!), i.e I'm very empathic.

I can often predict things, like if someone is coming to my home, and the person is like 1000 meters away, I think of the person, and the person arrives!(It's almost like having a "spidey-sense").

And I have an extremely strong memory...people say that cancerians mostly remember every bad thing done to them, but I don't just remember the "downs" of my life, I remember practically EVERYTHING! Adressess, names, birthdays, heights, weights, and incidents(ALL SORTS OF INCIDENTS), and I remember places from when I was two years old..like the house we lived in, outside the house, my granny-grampa's house, the car my dad had when I was 2 years old...the cars my uncles had....I can remember music from back then, even lyrics from the music....

So there you have it, my experiences with moon in first house.

Interesting. My experiences are similar to Thosa. Plus my rising is Pisces, I'm very sensitive, I'm practically a psychic sponge without me realising it. In my case though, I might've carried the moody part too far as I'm bipolar. I can also change my accent, appearance or whatever according to the places I live in/people I interact with. Somewhat a chameleon.
