Hi Azalaksh,

I am doing well, thank you for asking. I am working on Post (Fort Huachuca) right now in a temp position, so my time has been limited (no internet there...LOL)... BUT..I have an interview for a Public Health Surveillance Specialist position, which is like being a mini-CDC virus hunter for a county agency. I would even be working for the Bio-terrorism unit...

Seriously, it would be my dream come true..which makes me a bit worried that I may not get the job...LOL...Virgo Ascendant..always the worry wort LOL..

How are you doing? I hope all is well..I must say, I have always enjoyed your posts as well.

Mr. T is also doing well. He is back in the Military Police K9 division as a Supr. so he is happy.

Again, thank you for asking...

Hi Pid ~
I liked your definition and quotes on the subject of this thread. I'm not very original -- I just copied in other definitions that I found....
Say, I never heard what happened about the canine fellas next door: did you ever tell them what Mr T told you to tell them?!?

Peaches ~
YES, I like what you paraphrased from my quote! Actually that quote comes from 'Stranger in a Strange Land' by Robert Heinlein. I've liked it for 30 years, so I've always remembered it....Note: Heart--Shaped Cross got the quote exactly right in his post below.

I am Scorpio Sun ,Aries Moon,Saggitaius Rising,Libra Venus.

I really thought about what LOVE IS ....
and I was able to think about few and write few but I still think that there is lot more to say about what Love is...

Well here is just a try from my side.

Love is the way you make someone feel.
The way someone makes you feel.
Love is the sharing, the caring
The want and the need.

Love is that feeling one wants to expereience and wants to share with others.

Love is something that makes life beautiful for that moment.

Love is a bond which binds two people.
A way to keep people together in every possible way.

Love is when you are always waiting for somebody to call or sent an e-mail.
Love is when you are smiling or remembering the conveersation you had with someone whom you caared not only few hours or few days but years back.
Love is when thinking of that guy at groceery store gives you butterflies in your stomach.

Love is like a butterfly more you try to catch it, the further it will go from you.

Sometimes,

Love is something you try to find everywhere but can't find it.It is a surprise how it comes back when you have stopped looking.

Love is something that should be treasured and not stored in closet.

Love is something that I feel ,I wish,I hope,I want,I crave, I think of ,I live with,I fancy of,etc.

Gotta Go

My Libra definition:
Love is that condition wherein the happiness of another person is more important than your own.
_____________________________________________

It is when you must stop and look in a mirror because your beloved becomes the face you know so well that you can forget that you are physically two separate people.

The pure love you feel towards your beloved, is a joy that you send to them, not expecting anything in return
_____________________________________________

i think i will agree with the first one completly and even the second one but is it possible not to expect anything in return , we are humans!
_____________________________________________
Ruman :
Love for me is a feeling just like all other feelings. It’s an intense liking for a person with who you feel you are complete. Deep down in your heart you know that till you don’t find that person you will feel a kind of emptiness in your life. It’s a pure and sacred emotion, where you are willing to give everything and expecting no returns
_____________________________________________

i agree ruman but then again the second part . now i am confused shall i call myself a true lover . i had a sense of completeness with her , infact even today i feel so even though we are apart now . but frankly i never had that saintly emotion of no expectations .

LOL...well yes, but then I told them I was sorry and that it wasn't their fault their owner was a weirdo. Still, when I go outside and I see them, I do whisper hello to them..I just won't go up and pet them. LOL...

Thank you for your compliments, especially coming from someone that is so wise and always seems to post the right things (you).

By the way..I got the bio-geek specialist job..and I am happy as can be

Some great responses here,
I really enjoyed reading them.

Sonnet 116
William Shakespeare

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments; love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O, no, it is an ever-fixèd mark,
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand'ring bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his heighth be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Love suffers long, and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.... And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. ~ Paul of Tarsus, 1 Corinthians 13:4 - 8 (New King James Version)
In the following more extensive quotation of this passage from the original King James Version of the Christian Holy Bible, the word Charity is used as a translation of the Latin Caritas, and the original Greek Agape, which were words for Love, and used to denote the highest and most self-transcending forms of Love.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. ~ I Corinthians Chapter 13

Love your neighbor as yourself. ~ Jesus Christ

My love is as boundless as the sea,
My love as deep; the more I give to thee,
The more I have, for both are infinite. ~ William Shakespeare in Romeo and Juliet
My Mind has been the most discontented and restless one that ever was put into a body too small for it. To him she seemed so beautiful, so seductive, so different from ordinary people, that he could not understand why no one was as disturbed as he by the clicking of her heels on the paving stones, why no one else's heart was wild with the breeze stirred by the sighs of her veils, why everyone did not go mad with the movements of her braid, the flight of her hands, the gold of her laughter. He had not missed a single one of her gestures, not one of the indications of her character, but he did not dare approach her for fear of destroying the spell. ~ Gabriel Garcia Marquez (from Love in the Time of Cholera)

And thanks for getting the Stranger in a Strange Land quote exactly right! I fluffed it a little......

im a virgo sun, aquarius rising, and aries moon.

love is something many people believe they are in when theyre not. love is abused, misunderstood, complicated, takes a long time to discover. love isnt loving someone more than yourself, not being able to live without them, or any of the typical bs people spew out, love is undefinable, i think when you are in love, you dont say the typical crap people say, you just feel it.
