This combination I have seen in SO many relationships, doesn't matter whether it's romantic, friendship, or what sex each protagonist is. I'll just share a few observations:

There is a really strong attraction, although both people are so very different. Often, they are in exactly the same line of work, or have the same opinion - but the approach is totally different! Venus in Scorpio know what they like (and like what they know) but whatever criticism they make gets a bit of a soft landing with Mars in Gemini, because the latter is so flexible, and also has a tendency to be "gobby".

This frustrates Venus in Scorpio because they find Mars in Gemini difficult to pin down, a bit like trying to stick a pin in a flea, but it is a magnetic and potent attraction nevertheless (the quincunx effect?). I know a couple where the woman is Libra with Mars/Venus in Scorpio and the man a Cancer with Mars/Venus in Gemini. On the surface of it they hate each other and wind each other up, but it has so far been the longest relationship they have both had.

I think there is a lot of idealism going on in the Venus in Scorpio partner in this combination, and maybe Mars in Gemini is so different from what they expected as a partner/friend etc. - but the differences seem to drive the relationship. Mars in Gemini has a more cerebral or theoretical approach, whereas Venus in Scorpio prefers everything "raw", especially from an emotional point of view.

I am curious where this observation came from? I mean the source of it. Obviously the people concerned were close to you or yourself directly. It would just help to put it into context. I don't know much about venus in gemini, i have venus in scorpio so i can identify with that end. What i do know of gemini's though would makes sense with what you are saying. Geimini and scorpio are like oil and water, i have a hard time communicating like i would like to with gemini people. It's like they just don't get what i am saying, i am trying to get deep into something and they are off in the sratosphere or something, then we both look at each other and say what they hell are you talking about?

We're talking about friends, parents & offspring, business relationships etc. here, that I have known and observed.

suzyque, the last part of your post makes perfect sense in this context, Venus in Scorpio needs to explain everything twice - or three times - it's not that Mars in Gemini can't understand where they're coming from, but their whole focus is "ethereal" not as in "nebulous" but as in connected to the ether, they will demand a rational explanation, whereas Venus in Scorpio is much more connected with "human"-related things, how people feel, Gemini doesn't always take this into consideration. It's also difficult for Gemini to communicate their ideals to Scorpio. Both should actually get on like a house on fire, because they are talented individuals, and in many respects they do, and often they are crazy about each other. But each has something different to offer and in the end it is a question of temperament.

Can work outstandingly well, though. A college friend's (Scorpio) best friend was a Gemini, and her description of her was "she's the best".

I have Mars in Gemini which is pretty mental, we love to communicate but don't want to discuss any secrets or past love dissappointments with a lover (a friend, maybe)

Venus in Scorpio is much to intense for the average Mars in Gemini, and wants to know EVERYTHING about your past.
Well life (with the Venus/Scorpio) doesn't begin in the past it should begin in the NOW.

Venus in Scorpio will take a truth/secret you've given them and use it against you to control you. Then you're stuck or if you're a fire sign (not Leo, because they are fixed) you'll just up and leave everything behind, rather than fight, you'll just replace it. (easy come, easy go)

this is too bad because I really like Venus in Scorpio (just not for me) they have a lot of great traits that I admire and respect.

As for Mars/Gemini is everything superficial? probably

Surely this doesn't exactly work out?

Well, I was about to say that I have Mars in Gemini and my friend has Venus in Scorpio before realising that, um, she has Mars in Gemini too. How does this figure out? Does it make her kind of contradictive??

well i wouldnt say necessarily so,

if im not mistaken Linda says Gem-Scorp sun combinations are 'fascinated with each other' and deeply mutually attracted. In the Mars/Venus context, which is usually a love/relationship context, i think this would be beneficial. Of course it depends on the sun signs.

Maybe I cant seem to separate the two because im a Gem/Scorp. Gem and scorp are both essentially a HUGE part of me as a person. I cant imagine my Gem-ness without the Scorpionic traits...and i can see how they complement each other...I communicate well with both Air and Water. both things contribute to a deep sexuality, playfulness, flirtation yet intense emotions and a very distinct idea of love...

I think since Scorpio is a Fixed Sign, it's influence wherever it should land in a Chart will require the most reassurance before speaking throught the Mutable Gem influences. I believe if a Scorpio influenced person finds themselves gabbing too much before deciding what to say, they tend to feel very insecure of what they just did.

Your grand Tranquil, I just wanted to say that, I think you and I have an understanding that at times we generalise too much - we are teaching the other, so thanks for that. My father said to me the other day, its takes a courageous person to apologise. I am glad you are staying girl xxxx
