Don't be sad about that..because I don't think it's something you can't change. Maybe it's a matter of someone making the first step. Either him trusting you and opening up, or you acting more grounded and asking questions or initiating a conversation about something more than day to day stuff.

I'm a girl so I'd obviously be more emotionaly approachable than your average guy lol But, for instance, with my friends .. the fact that they act all bubbly and seemingly don't care or the fact that they have air signs in their chart wouldn't really matter to me IF they actually gave me a hint that they'd be interested in something serious that's going on in my life. Instead of calling me up with "wanna go out tonight?" if they just said "how ARE you (a real one, not the typical pleasantry 'hows u'..'fine thx') .. are you feeling ok? anything happened this week you wanna talk about?" that kinda thing.

This might not be helpful, in case you've already tried this and seemed interesed and he still didn't open up.. but just thought I'd throw it in there
