Ok, I had to do this. I think to start out I'll just start with the note C, though I know I could really start anywhere. Anyone feel an astrological pull to a note?

C - Aries
C#/Db - Taurus
D - Gemini
D#/Eb - Cancer
E - Leo
F - Virgo
F#/Gb - Libra
G - Scorpio
G#/Ab - Sagittarius
A - Capricorn (a nice note)
A#/Bb - Aquarius
B - Pisces

I wish I could demonstrate how chords sound, so you could tell me whether the chords your signs are in sound like your collaborations with different people.

For instance, would a major chord using my note as the starting note create a harmonius union of signs? That would be Capricorn (A), Taurus (C#), and Leo (E) making the chord, "A." Would it be even more beautiful with the addition of a major 7 (Sagittarius), or how bout a 9 (Pisces)?

Any musicians out there understand what I'm getting at, and do you think that this strange theory of mine might mean something?

My family would be a messed up Am chord. Aries, Leo, and Capricorn with a really odd note thrown in by my youngest Aquarian sister. Her note would make the whole chord dissonant. In fact, mine would be the only note to make hers beautiful (particularly if a Gem and Virgo are around?).

Very interesting! I must get my guitar out, actually put it in standard tuning for once and find out which note I actually do resonate to. I will be back to this thread!

Have to bump.

Pick a couple of your best friends, and let me see the chord you produce together.

Me: Capricorn - A
Mike: Taurus - C#
Jeff: Scorpio - G

Together we're an A7 chord, which isn't bad, but Jeff and Mike have never been great friends. Jeff and Mike alone don't make a happy chord either.

I haven't tested this out, but by ear it sounds right. I figured the Beatles would be a great resource for demonstrating chords, so I found a Beatles song with A7 in it, so everyone could hear.

Across the Universe. (Lennon/McCartney)
D F#m
Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup
Em7 A A7
They slither while they pass they slip away across the Universe.

Ugh! The chords won't place right. The A chord is heard starting around the word, "away," and the A7, according to this web site, starts in the middle of the word, "Universe."

D#/Eb - Cancer
E - Leo
G#/Ab - Sagittarius

Well how does that sound? I am not a muscian, but I do come from a musical family.

I don't know if I like the tones you picked up to represent each sign. See, for example, Aries-Gemini-Leo would be a much more harmonious chord than do-re-mi...

What does 'F' sound like? Could you describe it in a song? I know nothing about music!

I imagine Virgo to be quite high-pitched and flute-like

Bluemoon,

Your chord would be Emaj7, a very beautiful chord. Kinda of french-sounding to me.

Moonshine,

I would also suggest looking up a favorite band along with the chord you want to hear. For instance, off the top of my head I know F is a chord in a REd Hot Chili Peppers song (It start, "How long how long will I .." might be Otherside). It's also the third chord in both the main part and the chorus of U2's song, "One." Interpol has a simple song called, "NYC," that alternates between C and F.

Thanks Acoustic God. I know the chili and U2 songs you mention - so am I right in that it is a kind of lowish, heart-rending type of note, going by these two songs? (which I absolutely love by the way)

I'm still none the wiser as to which note it actually is, but I quite like what I think it is :P

The note F on the piano site is the WHITE key/note right before the group of three black keys. There are three F's on that piano (it's the same note at different octaves - low, middle, and high pitch). Let me know if that doesn't make sense.

Maybe this will help you as well:

The white keys on a piano are A, B, C, D, E, F, G. The black keys are the sharp (#) or flat (b) keys (whether they are sharp or flat depends on the application. A bit much to go into here.).

This is cool. I've always been drawn to C. Aries is Opposite my Sun, and in the Empty Space in my T-Square, so I BETTER know it!! The next one I like is F, I have Venus & Pluto Conjunct in Virgo.

.. and what note / chord / key resonates here ...
although .. just now .. found out that my wood mounted img scanner
definitely resonates at C .. just happened to be jammin whilst scanning
.. it be right in tune .. sample a scanner ??
btw : placing an unplugged solid body against a water filled ch radiator
.. via the headstock .. can sound .. mmm .. musicaly interesting ...

this was the google search string

i'm no piano player .. but do mess with a keyboard occasionaly ...
.. budding keyboardists .. try just playing the 'black' keys ...
.. and realise you can play ....

2 black key scales
.. all black keys be a minor pentatonic E flat ( if u start on E flat ) ..
.. add the white A key .. and one has the 'blues' scale

... all black keys be a F sharp major pentatonic ( if u start on F sharp ) .

be well all

Let me transcribe the scale according to Astro Junkie's site.

C - Virgo
C#/Db - Aries
D - Libra
D#/Eb - Taurus
E - Scorpio
F - Sagittarius
F#/Gb - Gemini
G - Capricorn another nice note
G#/Ab - Cancer
A - Aquarius
A#/Bb - Leo
B - Pisces

Under this version water signs would create a major E chord. Fire signs would combine to create Bbm (B flat minor). Earth signs would create Cm. Air signs would create a major D chord.

I wonder why water and air would create nice happy chords, and fire and earth would create the darker, more depressing minor chords.

-----

Interestingly, Capricorn, Taurus and Leo STILL combine to make a harmonius major chord. In my version, we were the chord A. In this version, we're Eb.

However, whereas Virgo, Scorpio and Capricorn are three notes in a row in my version: F, G, A (a Gmaj9 chord), in this new one they combine to create the C chord.

I don't know what to make of all this.

Let's See if U2 makes a nice chord.

Bono - Taurus - C#
Edge - Leo - E
Adam Clayton - Pisces - B
Larry Mullen - Scorpio - G

or

Bono - Taurus - Eb
Edge - Leo - Bb
Adam Clayton - Pisces - B
Larry Mullen - Scorpio - E

With my version they're an A79 (missing the root A). It could also be considered an Em6.

With the version from AJ's site, they don't meld well as a whole, but Bono and Edge are harmonius, and Adam and Larry are harmonius. Kinda makes sense.

** Symphony of Life Parallels Music

yeah .. good site .. i'm crap at maths

.. haven't absorbed AJ s site yet .. interesting what u say about it

i.e. singn/chord formations ..
much prefer Taur at E flat ! although was figuring in your C sharp taur to be part of a modal scale or one of the minor scales for C ..

much to reflect on .. was only today talking to a friend about his idea of a music composition app. based on the movements of the planets ..

Happy Dragon -

Glad the link has some truth to it. At first glance, the information did seem to be very intricate. Thanks for the feedback as I was not able to readily process everything.

Acoustic God -

*bowing*
I'm not worthy!! You really ARE the God of Acoustics. Man!! You weren't kidding!

Please share more info as you process in your own way. I'm very interested to learn more. I also hope others take a look, and give you some feedback as well.

What you said about "Virgo, Scorpio and Capricorn" making a C note, just wanted to let you know that since I did pick C as my #1 resonating note, I have :::

* Venus Conjunct Pluto in Virgo

* Mercury, Mars & Neptune in Scorpio in the 6th House

* Jupiter Conjunct Saturn in Capricorn

Maybe that information will help you "fine tune" (pun intended) your research. Keep up the good work!
