New Moon in Gemini
Monday, June 6, 2:56 pm PDT

The New Moon in Gemini seeds new ideas and diverse paths of opportunity, especially when joined by the sign's ruling planet Mercury. Support from expansive Jupiter and Neptune in communicative air signs widen vision and perspective. Yet, Pluto's opposition to the Sun, Moon and Mercury may force a decision that can be difficult to make. Choosing one option among the plethora of possibilities could be a painful necessity. On the other hand, these planets in multi-faceted Gemini opposing Pluto in Sagittarius--symbol of religious and political fanaticism--may provide much-needed respect for diversity and open-minded dialogue.

Mercury in Cancer
Saturday, June 11, 12:03 am PDT

Mentally-oriented Mercury moves into Cancer's watery realm, blending mind and emotion. Conversation grows more personal, albeit less chatty, objective and abstract. Speech may slow as thoughts filter through layers of reflection before forming themselves into words. Communication grows subtle, but signals sent from a more intimate place can be even more powerful.

Mars in Aries
Saturday, June 11, 7:31 pm PDT

The Warrior Mars returns to its home sign, spitting sparks of change, challenge, action and ambition. It's time to put a new project in motion, in spite of objections from Mercury in risk-averse Cancer (see entry above). Impulsive behavior can be dangerous, yet this is the first time in almost two years that the pure fire of Mars will be so bright--take the plunge anyway. Get moving mentally and physically to catch this heat wave and turn its pioneering force in a direction of your choosing. Enthusiasm is a sign that you're on the right track, while anger about old issues can be a distraction.

Saturn sesqui-square Uranus
Saturday, June 11, 8:24 pm PDT

This knotty aspect between the planets of order and chaos can provoke resistance to authority, your own or someone else's. Rebellion, though, is simply reaction, and less likely to produce favorable results than a commitment (Saturn) to something new and revolutionary (Uranus) of your own creation. The challenge is in integrating these contrasting forces well enough to advance your cause, as opposed to grinding gears due to poor planning and lack of inspiration.

Uranus Retrograde
Tuesday, June 14

This 'retreat' of Uranus could mark a step back from a plan that can radically alter your life. Yet, its higher purpose is to recognize that the real revolution is within, that liberation is not something you get from others, but what you find in yourself. True freedom can be found now, by discovering how and where your unique qualities have been stifled by unconscious habits and outmoded rules about who you can be.

Sun in Cancer
Monday, June 20, 11:46 pm PDT

The Summer Solstice (or Winter Solstice south of Quito) marks a rise of consciousness as the zodiac's first water sign stirs tribal memories and reminds us of our roots. Cancer is the budding stage of awareness, a self-reflective 'I' is emerging that will take center stage next month in the following sign, Leo. With a sense of self comes a need to protect and nurture, thus the Crab hunkers down in its shell. Yet, this is a cardinal sign, one meant to advance, even in a crustacean's indirect way. Ambition lurks in the soft center of identity, even if it's not ready to impose itself openly just yet.

Full Moon in Capricorn
Tuesday, June 21, 9:14 pm PDT

Within hours of the Solstice the Moon in Capricorn opposes the Cancer Sun and the principles of toughness and tenderness face off with one another. Their common interest is security, but with two totally different ways to achieve it. Capricorn projects power into the world, Cancer seeks a safe place to avoid confrontation. Retreat and reconciliation, though, may not be available choices now since feisty Mars and expansive Jupiter stress the Full Moon with challenging squares (90-degree aspects). Going further is a hallmark of these two planets, so let it be in the interest of creating something extraordinary, rather than building a great wall around yourself.

Mercury in Leo
Monday, June 27, 9:02 pm PDT

Minds grow bold and creative, speech is confident, we're making promises like politicians a week before election day. The key to using this transit as something more than an exercise in arrogance or rock starish posturing is to follow your words with action. Having the courage of your convictions gives you fuel to turn the brilliant visions that your mind can see into a reality about which your heart can be proud.

Venus in Leo
Monday, June 27, 10:53 pm PDT

Venus in Leo adds color to life, brightening relationships with romance and drama. Asking more of others and giving more in return is appropriate now. The value of love, pleasure and delight is up, so paying more for it is only fair. Don't settle for less than your heart desires until you've explored every way to get it. Life is like Vegas now, baby, a place where it's more important to risk everything you've got and come home empty-handed than to play it so safe that you don't get to enjoy the game.

The New Moon in Gemini is a spring shower of ideas dropping into minds and popping out of mouths. Information flows from every source, presenting a daunting menu of possibilities from which to choose. Yet, Darth Pluto stands opposite this lunation, squeezing us to pick one--and only one--new field of investigation at a time. Information channeled this way turns childlike curiosity into mature thinking that is both open and deep. There needn't be a single truth for each of us to speak truthfully. We only claim the veracity for what is perceived from our individual perspective. Clear signals from a multitude of sources build collective intelligence by respecting the individual, and thus reducing the danger of dogma taking root.

Have a great month!

Well, this New Moon is falling at 16 degrees Gemini. Look at your chart and see what house that degree falls in. Might be your 12th or could be your 11th, depending on what degree of Gemini your 12th house starts at, the cusp. It's always nice when New moons conjunct natal planets. Check to see if this one will.
