How much influence does the following sign have on an individual who was born at a rather late degree of an ascendant? Like, for me, Virgo occupies a very little bit of my 11th house (00.12 degrees), completely envelopes (sp?) my 12th house, and then goes on to claim my ascendant (27.12 degrees). Virgo only has 3.48 degrees in my first house, though. The rest of my first house is occupied by 23.48 degrees of Libra. Heh, most people usually think that I am a Libra rising, so I just thought I'd ask. I thought it was odd, because I have no planets in Libra, and I'm positive of my birth date, time, and location (April 13th, 1990/5:06 PM (Daylight savings time)/Madison, Tennessee), so I know for a fact that I have a Virgo ascendant, but few people would think of me as a Virgo rising. To be perfectly honest with you,I have difficulty understanding the rising sign myself.I went through my whole existence up to and until recently thinking I was taurus rising.It later transpired that I actualy am aries.My time of birth was entirely inaccurate(thanks to unreliable parents)and I had to do my own digging.Think about how you were as a child,reflect back on your childhood experiences as I believe that it is during that time that your ascendant is at its purest and strongest because as we grow older we adapt to how society,parents and friends want us to behave.Were you selfish as a child, mischievous, shy, combative,moody think back and ask your parents to help you.After that I suggest that you visit www.elbertwade.com and read up on the rising signs and their respective decanates to get a clear perspective of which one you really are.I have to mention that physical descriptions of each sign are confusing,contradictory and difficult to differentiate as you do get very thin Cancer rising people(like my girlfriend) and heavily built Gemini rising natives(like my best friend).Computers are just machines,astrologers -even proffessional ones- are just people and neither one can truly ascertain whether you are one or the other especially if you are born in the late degrees/early degrees of that rising sign.The onus of proving wether you are one or the other rests purely on you.
For me I merely read up on both aries-sagittarius decanate and Taurus-taurus decanate,did a little bit of research from close friends asking them how they perceived me when they met me and allso became brutally honest with myself.I allso looked back at my childhood and concluded that aries-sagittarius much to my dislike is more accurate of how the world sees me and the person I am tring to be than Taurus-taurus.I suggest that maybe you do the same! good luck IP: Logged |

My mother always said I was a really happy little kid. I was really outgoing, apparently. Which is odd, because I'm a really laid back person. After reading a lot about what the ascendant indicates for the family life, I've always been kind of confused. Unless the hospital recorded the wrong time of birth, then I was born at 27.12 degrees of Virgo rising, but everything I've read about a Virgo's childhood is really bad. Mine has been pretty good. It's been a really happy childhood, so I've always been at odds with that bit. The only thing I can attribute to the bad parts probably come from the fact that I have Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune in the 4th. I really don't understand the Neptune in the 4th house influence, though, either. None of that rings true for me.Wow, that made no sense. IP: Logged |

lol funny thing you made that point gert.. My rising's gemini late 29'somethin deg... I thought it was cancer for a fair while but now I know it's gem. What makes it worse in my chart is.. the rising and venus both change over the space of like 5 min..THATS when i had to be born of all times lol.. so my venus is aries 29'50 or 48 or whatever (5min later it's can asc and taurus ven) I've changed a lot since I was little. I was more gemini asc-like then, now it's mixed..I can see both traits. I'm thin which seems gemini (according to the typical stf) but I get so many vibes from ppl and the way ppl around me feel at a certain time has a massive impact on my emotions..whether I'm sad or happy or upset ..i can't stay happy, if there are ppl around me who are arguing or sad or something (even if it has nothing to do with me) it influences me so much..My venus seems more Taurean when I look at typical interps as well..
:edit: oh and Nove there's something else i don't really understand..there was a thread about it not long ago but I can't find it now. Basially when you have a late asc some astrologers interpret that asc as being in the 12th so it's more hidden..or something like that.. I really don't understand how still lol.. Also when planets are late in a house a lot of astrologers think they should be interpreted in the next house..
