What about mutual reception? I have Venus in Cancer and Moon in Libra. In my experience, my Venus and Moon are heavily intertwined. I love with both in a style that is a blend of both. I'm not a smotherer though, neither am I distant.

My moon is at 14 degrees libra and my Venus is 29 degrees cancer. Though not in aspect by orb, that mutual reception is strongly felt.

Virgo Asc 6˚& Mars 0˚
Gemini Sun 24˚
Libra Moon 14˚(conjunct Pluto 0˚ in 2nd house)
Gemini Mercury 25˚
Cancer Venus 29˚
And yes, i'm a guy!

Both.

The Moon shows what makes us feel secure, comfortable, how we react emotionally, and how we show that we care.

Venus shows what we value and how we express our values, affection, romance and how we like to receive affection and romance.

Which means a person can be awfully confusing in a relationship if their Sun and Venus are in conflicting or at least dissimilar signs. Such as mine - Moon in Aqua, Venus in Scorpio. At least they're both fixed =) That makes it better, right? (sarcasm alert).

quote:
Individuals who have Venus difficulties in the natal chart, due to sign or house placement, hard aspects or retrograde motion, may have difficulty finding a harmonious place for themselves among their peers. They are not worth less, nor are they inherently less attractive than others; they simply do not fit in easily with predominant social standards. Ideally, this can leave them free to discover new forms of love and beauty.

Yes! This makes so much sense to me! I have a lot of Venus difficulties in my chart, and this is the way it feels a lot of the time... It's not that I can't love or that others can't love me, it's more that I don't feel that I fit in with many of the people around me!

quote:
Venus in Earth and the Moon in Fire is a very extreme situation. Fire needs drama and excitement while the Earth is just the opposite. External calm and practicality can be expected of the Venus in Earth person. But what does s/he do with that inner need for risk, for excitement? Earth is bound up in social rules which the Moon in Fire barely understands. The law of Fire is a divine law, above that of earthly constraints.

This is also very true for me... I tend to either attract guys who are VERY stable (financially and emotionally), but who I end up feeling are BORING OR I'll attract guys who are fun and outgoing, but I end up feeling they're CRAZY with too many emotions flying around! It's really been a hard balance for me to figure out.

quote:
Some one with a Taurus Ascendant, for example, may be fascinated by the intensity and emotional control of a Scorpio. But, Michael writes, if we don't incorporate that Scorpio intensity or quality in ourselves, we will eventually reject the other for the very reasons that attracted us in the first place. Fascination or attraction turns to rejection when the behavior is not incorporated within us. We could say that the projection, in this case of power or sexiness, can begin a relationship but cannot sustain it.

I've found this to be really true.

My moon in aries is opposed to my venus in libra and mars but I haven't had too many complicated feelings regarding my relationships so far. But the problem is I can't bear the relationship if it's calm
Even if it's 'calm and intense' or whatever. I just have this fear of being trapped. And if the guy shows the slighest sight of boredom I will blame myself and go and hide in a cave until he calls me again. Sometimes, they don't call And the worst thing about it all is, I understand ! I hate venus in libra, if someone would try to kill me I would even empathize with them !

GotGemini: I have the same mutual reception, Venus in Cancer and Moon in Libra, and like you I feel that everything is intertwined, my ASC is even conjunct my Venus, and that again makes Moon my chart ruler.
This Cancer/Libra/Moon/Venus mash-up has a very prominent place in my personality, naturally
I just couldn't make heads or tails of the articles, simply because I don't feel these planets and signs separately, heheh...

omg... i was just thinking about this SAME question!!!

I thought about this the other day, "Do we act more like our Moon or Venus when we're with someone that we're attracted to...dating...or involved with?"

Is it my Scorpio Moon or Capricorn Venus that makes me seem quiet or "different" when I'm out on a date or dating a guy I like. I try not to be, but that's what I've noticed. I dont know why I do
it but I'm usually fun and talkative and energetic when i'm out with friends, girls & guys. Maybe I'm more confident in that area rather than guys and relationships and love...??? <------ well just thought i'd add that as to why i thought about the same question.

(just thought i'd share... )

I like the article that was posted!

SS, both Scorpio and Capricorn are "cautious" when it comes to getting into a relationship, so in your case they are working together.

my moon in leo and venus in virgo are at odds. try loving stability and drama....I mean I LOVE both! need both. thats why I think I do ok with my BF cuz he has mars in leo and venus in scorpio. But secretly sometimes I crave more excitement and it makes me want to do something outrageous to shake things up a bit, but not enough to jeapordize the relationship. Makes no sense at all. I know. LIke I just want to get him real fired up so I can have hotter Sex...even this weekend, I wantred tostart some kind of squabble or get under his skin ..just so we could make up. I didn't.... but actually still kinda wish I had.

i think i act like my venus and my mars, a combo of both, which are mars virgo (taking action toward the desired one) and venus in libra (how i act) i also think my virgo Mercury in house 3 lop sides me to be a bit more reserved than socially graceful like libra is, but if people talk to me im still tend to be a polite and nice person i think.
some have said im romantic!

quote:

i have this combination too, as well as the all mighty awful grand square.

so i relate to that.

on that note though, i wouldn't emphasize with my killer. lol

hi deuxantares!

ok i guess that's good that their working together, but most times like now I just wanna not be so cautious, i just wanna let go and let love in or let love out. you know what i mean? i have been trying lately... my thinking lately is "Carpe Diem."

oooh! also i wanted to add to the topic that i've noticed that lately with guys that i've dated or are dating... that they tend to act like their moon around me. i find it fascinating...and interesting. Like right now, I'm interested in a guy who's (if I have his bday correct...lol) a Scorpio Moon just like me. Who is also the total opposite of the last guy i dated who had an Aries Moon. totally different... seriously... even though they are both said to be passionate...

External calm and practicality can be expected of the Venus in Earth person. But what does s/he do with that inner need for risk, for excitement? Earth is bound up in social rules which the Moon in Fire barely understands. The law of Fire is a divine law, above that of earthly constraints.

I relate with this profile more so than I do with the Venus(Water)/Moon(water) description.

Venus-Saturn conjunction(Scorpio).
Moon-Mars square(Cancer/Libra).

I have strong excitable emotions that tend to crave excitement. But, in the same breath, I also want a seasoned, grounded individual.

Mostly I attract the Venus-Saturn types; dependible, good-natured, sincere types.

And though also attracted to Moon-Mars types; changeable, outgoing, "busy" etc. I am equaly terrified of them.

I also have Juno-Mars, Juno-Pluto opposition which emphasizes this contradiction further. I do want a guy who is expressive, passionate and the type to speak his mind etc.But I am also terrified of scenes , spats or disagreements that are played out in public!!!

And as far as the "love" question is concerned. We love with our Venus signs and, unless the planet forms aspects with the Moon by square, conjunction or opposition, this is the predominant nature of our affections.

This was a fascinating post to me
On occasion I'd wonder why I would read something about the moon having a correlation to the kind of relationship you had with your mother. Now reading this and about Venus and what your mother valued in you, something just clicked!

Also fascinating to me is I have Scorpio moon opposite my Venus Taurus. And concidentally I've only loved two men in my life, both with Taurus moon. Lucky for me, my current bf has Taurus moon in in his eight house and sun conj my moon by 9 degrees

It also holds true that I did and do have a difficult relationship with my mom. Her moon in gem squares my sun and inconj my moon. She has cap sun so it would only make sense that she would value me in an Taurus (earth) way. We both have sun conj Saturn in fourth house...its a nightmare...lol.

I appreciate the insight of this article! The 7th & 8th house info was good too. But I wonder about 11th. When I first started learning about astrology ( about 12yrs old) I thought 11th was all about friendships. Now I get it has more to do with society and enviornment as a whole. But I did read something on here recently about 11th having more to do with your relationships with others perhaps more than 7th. Hmm
