Topic: Trines and Sextiles

Hey, guys, great threads you have going! very fun and informative! I am wondering if anyone can tell me how to tell if someone has a trine-a grand trine actually. I had been reading up on things like the T-cross, and Grand Trine for a bit...but can never seem to find know if I myself have one because I get confused! Anyway, I 5 trines in my chart...(in the major aspects at least) They are: Sun trine Moon
Mars trine Ascendant
Mars trine Midheaven
Pluto trine Ascendant
Pluto trine Midheaven
Also, I want to know more about sextiles...how come in most astrology books, the focus on the conj, Opp, and Sq.-sextiles are labled as "opportunities"...I have lots of sextiles in my chart and I get the feeling sometimes that they kind of don't mean much....what do you guys think??
Thanks! (oh...and incase anyone is wondering... I have sun in Cap, asc in Gem, and moon in Taurus)

I don't really know why they do that. But, anyway, I'm thankful for it. :-P Most of my aspects are squares and trines. IP: Logged |

gemini,Sextiles are "easy energy" and trines are "very easy energy". They make things easy but they don't help you develop and grow. Squares, oppositions, quincunxes, and conjunctions give you the stressful challenges that help you develop in your life. A chart that has a lot of trines and sextiles with few squares, oppositions, quincunxes, or conjunctions may indicate a person who expects life to be easy and has a hard time adjusting when life's challenges happen. Hi geminirising26 a Grand Trine is when there are three planets in all three signs of the same element trining each other: Fire Grand Trine: Aries - Leo - Sagittarius Earth Grand Trine: Taurus - Virgo - Capricorn Air Grand Trine: Gemini - Libra - Aquarius Water Grand Trine: Cancer - Scorpio - Pisces ..And about sextiles:
I think most astrologers consider it a mildly beneficial aspect, but not as strongly felt as a trine or a conjunction. The only time that a sextile is considered powerful is when it's part of a YOD, an aspect involving a sextile with two quincunxes. IP: Logged |

Hey, thanks for the replies.....I totally understand what you are talking about...the person with lots of trines and sextiles may have difficulty handling lifes challanges...wow. I have a few conjunctions, and a lot of sextiles...a couple of trines, and only two oppositions...(lol) I have been told that I do have this "thing" about challanges....I am not keen on life throwing them at me!
