I have seen a bit about this in various threads, but is it an absolute fact that a planet that is at the end (technically) of a house, is interpreted as being in the next house? Why is that? I have saturn at the end of the 5th, going into the 6th....so this means saturn is in my 6th then??Thanks for any replies!! IP: Logged |

I read somewhere that if a planet is within 6 degrees of the cusp its strength is associated with the next house and we should interpret in the next house. I think I read it in a book by Sydney Omarr.Hopefully someone else will come along and give ya a better reason as to why. IP: Logged |

Gemini,When a planet is within 5 degrees of a cusp I consider it being focused in BOTH houses. Having the cake and eating it too, Tim IP: Logged |

Hm. I've wondered this too. For instance, my Sun is at 23.43 degrees Aries, and the cusp of my 8th House is 23.49 degrees Aries. It annoys me that www.astro.com always interprets it into the 8th house. I don't think it suits me well. Or rather, it does, but that could easily be because of my Chart Ruler being in the 8th house.Sun in the 7th House sounds much more accurate for me. IP: Logged |

Hmm...Wilsontc, that is an interesting thought about interpreting the planet in both houses...I will look into some interpretations of saturn in the 6th (which, actually I think is a more pleasant position for saturn to be in!)And well, if Sydney Omarr (he does those zodiac sign horoscopes for the whole year right?) says so (he is legit right?) then I guess I'll interpret the planet as so! Thanks! IP: Logged |

How about really late degrees and the houses? My rising is 29* Sag, so my first house is mostly all Cap. On astro.com, it doesn't show the Cap at all. Its as if it skips around. This is what it shows in tterms of house placements House positions (Placidus) Ascendant Sagittarius 29°04'24 2nd House Aquarius 00°58'55 3rd House Pisces 05°28'14 Imum Coeli Aries 09°15'12 5th House Taurus 09°00'17 6th House Gemini 04°48'53 Descendant Gemini 29°04'24 8th House Leo 00°58'55 9th House Virgo 05°28'14 Medium Coeli Libra 09°15'12 11th House Scorpio 09°00'17 12th House Sagittarius 04°48'53 So the sign of Capricorn and Cancer aren't assigned a house, and just disappear??????

See look: Ascendant Sagittarius 29°43'09 2nd House Aquarius 04°03'16 3rd House Pisces 11°11'34 Imum Coeli Aries 15°16'17 5th House Taurus 13°23'54 6th House Gemini 07°11'17 Descendant Gemini 29°43'09 8th House Leo 04°03'16 9th House Virgo 11°11'34 Medium Coeli Libra 15°16'17 11th House Scorpio 13°23'54 12th House Sagittarius 07°11'17 IP: Logged |

planet_soul & sweet_face - according to astro.com my rising is 29* gemini. i feel more like a cancer rising tho! also according to them (unlike planet_soul's houses) my houses don't skip any of the signs (1st house is gemini, 2nd is cancer, 3rd leo and so on). it's kinda screwy cuz this indeed makes all my houses start in one sign but /most/ of the house is actually the following sign...House positions (Placidus) Ascendant Gemini 29°51'47 2nd House Cancer 21°29'55 3rd House Leo 14°13'42 Imum Coeli Virgo 11°23'37 5th House Libra 15°25'39 6th House Scorpio 24°03'30 Descendant Sagittarius 29°51'47 8th House Capricorn 21°29'55 9th House Aquarius 14°13'42 Medium Coeli Pisces 11°23'37 11th House Aries 15°25'39 12th House Taurus 24°03'30 anyway in yer case P_S i guess cuz of the degrees yer sagi & gemi in 12th/1st & 6th/7th start yer capricorn and cancer get sucked in and just aren't on the house cusps. i know they can be felt in those areas nonetheless since they occupy nearly the entire house! get to readin both! also geminirising26 - i have a few planets like that too! my saturn is 14*11 in 2nd but my 3rd house starts at 14*13. also moon is 14*5 in 8th but my 9th house starts at 14*13. so it's like even more different kinds of energy combined to make the many layers of us! x.tra reading homework hehe! ------------------ ~Libra Sun / somewhere between a 29 degree Gemini & a 0 degree Cancer Rising / Aquarius Moon~ IP: Logged |

I was looking for this thread, and finally found it Hexxie, that makes a lot of sense. I do think you're right, the energy of the swallowed up signs is felt in those houses. Perhaps even more so than the sign at the beginning. Gemini is technically at the start of my 7th house, which is mostly occupied by Cancer. I've never, ever been attracted to a Gemini or any other Air sign. I've always been into water signs, and my current relationship is with a Cancer. Sweet_Face, well I am a Sag Sun with Mercury, Mars, and Neptune in Sag. I do relate very much to my Sag energy, but I definatly feel more like a Capricorn rising. The Ascendent is suppossed to be how others see you, and I don't think I give off my Sag persona when you first see me. I look much younger than my age and I'm serious and shy until I get comfortable. I also tend to like being around older people, and have always had a thing for those classy Capricorn males IP: Logged |

Love this cusp stuff. It certainly adds even more individuality to your astrological make-up, when you think about it. I am a strong believer in cusps and energies in both houses, especially if signs are within 5 degrees of another. It would just make the personality description that much more detailed. So if you were born a Sun Cancer/Leo cusp, and you also acknowledged you had a Sagittarius/Capricorn cusp rising - you'd probably understand things that much better.I just can't see how energies can just 'switch' in one minute in the matter of one degree...I think planets are influencing both signs as they approach the end of one and slowly descend into the other.
