I have Venus at 2' Aqua and Jupiter at 2' Scorpio, 12th house and 8th house respectively. I'm wondering about this aspect, because it seems like it would be difficult- my immediate thought would be- planet of relationships squaring the expansiveness of Jupiter? no good! But don't squares sometimes give one a certain "drive"... or add fuel to two planets? Anyone catch that drift? I feel like I can't explain what I'm thinking. But if anyone knows anything about this aspect, thanks a bunch!

Hi,
I know a few people with this aspect (different signs though). I've noticed that they're friendly, sociable people. But there is a excessive or overindulgent side to them which works against them rather than helps them. This is usually of their own doing too. This excessivity can easily be fixed..in fact this aspect is generally beneficial. It's just that these people don't use enough of their inner willpower to curb their overindulgent tendencies. This can range from being overly nice to someone even if they are cold to you, or indulging in all of your desires and temptations (which isn't always a good thing I might say!). Any Saturn aspect might help control this or a postive Mars or Moon aspect might help channel it into a proper outlet.

Hope this helps.

Heres some I found, I hope they are helpful

Venus is the planet of love, higher emotions and artistic sensibility. The aspects and positions of Venus in a natal chart indicate how the subject deals with relationships, sexuality and social interaction, as well as their capacity for creating and appreciating beauty.

Jupiter is the planet of expansion, growth and cooperation. In a natal chart, the aspects and position of Jupiter indicate how subjects are able to expand their horizons, and how they fit into and contribute to society.

Your Venus square Jupiter indicates that you are a bit indulgent and careless in attending to your responsibilities. When things are going your way, you are outgoing and personable, but you can be difficult to deal with when you run into opposition. In your relations with people, you may indicate that you will make adjustments, but this is often an empty gesture. You resent being forced to do anything, and wish that people would realize this before attempting to get you to act. You feel that antagonistic feelings between you and someone else are largely the result of the other person not understanding you. You are generous mainly when it satisfies an ulterior motive, and you may withdraw an offer to hel someone at a later time by saying 'It wouldn't have been appreciated anyway'.

You have the potential to fill any of a variety of occupational positions if you learn to accept responsibility. You may not be free to engage in other activities that you would prefer, but you must be realistic in determining your priorities. You must discipline yourself to earn your living first and indulge yourself only when your duties are fulfilled. It is indeed almost impossible to have it both ways. In all your affairs, including personal relationships, job opportunities, or frustrations, you tend to exaggerate your plans for the future. You make it seem that everyone is beating a path to your door for your attentions. But the truth is that you are desperate for attention and will resort to all sorts of deceptive tactics to gain it. You must come to grips with these problems before you can expect to be successful. Once you do, you are well on your way to achievement in such fields as travel, public relations, guidance counselling, etc.. Communication is your greatest asset, and you can use it skillfully to gain your objectives. Stop being so defensive; most people are willing to meet you halfway if you give them the chance. You feel that you attract more than your fair share of hostility from people who are trying to take advantage of you.

If you present yourself honestly, you will attract individuals whom you can relate to romantically. Learn to be generous to others, even if it hurts to know that the generosity may never be returned. You may be surprised to discover how many people are naturally generous. Certainly you sometimes hate yourself for being cantankerous with people who don't deserve this treatment. When you indulge the needs and desires of others, it pays big dividends in goodwill.

Your greatest problems are learning to be less suspicious of people when they extend themselves to you, and to be less demanding of them in their relationships with you.

You may have a problem in keeping your weight down because of your self-indulgent habits. Rich foods are not for you, and a low-carbohydrate diet is recommended. Rest is also very important, and if you cannot get extended hours of sleep, try taking frequent short rest periods.

Venus square Jupiter
A square aspect formed between Venus and Jupiter makes self-indulgence likely, and produces some carelessness in matters associated with Venus. Too much is taken for granted, and you may lack an appreciation of the true value of things. You can be very extravagant in both your affections and your finances, finding it difficult to manage both. You are likely to resent being forced to do anything you would prefer not to do. You are suspicious of the motives of others. You feel that any antagonistic feelings between you and someone else are largely the result of the other person not understanding you. You may have a problem keeping your weight down because of self-indulgent habits.

VENUS SQUARE JUPITER

With the square between Venus and Jupiter, you may have
difficulty in controlling the excesses of your feeling nature.
You can be lazy and self-indulgent at times, especially when
difficulties or conflicts give you the excuse to neglect your
duties and responsibilities. At all times, you may feel your
responsibilities to be a limitation on your urge to be seeking
out new horizons and experiences. You can be generous, but often
it is because you expect something in return. You like your acts
of generosity to be appreciated and can be indignant when you
feel that they are not.

You will expect a partner to allow you the freedom to indulge
your own whims and pursue your own goals, but you may not be too
generous in extending the same rights to them. You need to learn
to relate to people openly, without feeling that they may try to
take advantage of you.

Venus Square Jupiter
You attach considerable importance to gaining objective understanding of the
world through gaining knowledge and relating to other people, but your up-
bringing has not encouraged you to develop a sense of proportion in these
matters. Your conscious ideas about the world and other people are at odds
with the philosophy of life you were brought up to believe in, and you may
waste a considerable amount of time and energy in trying to reconcile the
two. You rarely feel satisfied with the way things are, and you tend to
go overboard in trying to improve them. Other people may pick up on your
lack of self-assurance and take advantage of your generousity or overoptim-
ism, and you need to learn to channel your enthusiasm more wisely.

Also this is interesting,

Venus in Aquarius

Venus is a bit reserved in this sign. This is because Saturn tends to cool the social activity that Venus is prone to create. Typically, this person tends to feel a social or cultural gap between who they are and who they have dealings with. Often there are large differences in status and class to contend with, or prejudice. One might say that this position represents the epitome of political correctness, because Venus does not want to create social tension in public, and Aquarius is very public. The coolness of the social atmosphere does not mean that this native is not popular, quite the contrary, they have many friends, just very few close friends.

In a diurnal chart, the heat of the day creates a more outgoing personality to the point that this individual is quite social. The dryness though does create a separateness and distinctiveness between people in your relationships which tends to prevent close alliances.

In a nocturnal chart, the coolness of night reduces activity and brings people closer together in tighter relationships with you. The moistness tends to blurr distinctions so that there is ambiguity in where your friends stand on certain issues, but they are not likely to care as much. This is because the lack of distinction creates at least the illusion of unity.

Jupiter in Scorpio

Because Jupiter is ruled by Mars which is in aversion to Aries forthrightness, these natives may be interested in philosophical and religious matters related to death and ethical issues relating to secrecy or privacy. The native may be fortunate with regard to inheritance or acquisition due to negligent or ill conceived actions of others. They sometimes become involved in expeditions which involve treasure hunting and be unusually fortunate in this area. "Finders keepers, losers weepers" comes to mind because Scorpio often deals with what is lost or let go. There is probably interest in the occult and often the native finds him or herself trying to find the correct path to follow under morally or ethically ambiguous circumstances. Conflicts of interest and the need to recuse onesself for the sake of integrity is commonplace. For those born with this position, the answers to life's questions always seem to bring up more questions than answers. This is because there is often a war being fought over the truth.

In a diurnal chart, the heat of the day purifies the native's philosophy and the dryness helps makes the path clearer for otherwise normally ambiguous situations. They are good at handling the resources of others and may be fortunate with inheritance. They may also gain from the rash actions or wrongful behavior of others. They may be good at investigating losses and finding hidden resources or lost objects. Archaeology may be a key interest.

In a nocturnal chart, the coolness of night creates complications in the natives philosophical path because things of like and unlike nature are concentrated together while the wetness blurrs distinction between what is right and wrong. The native may be tempted to give up on morality and issues of ethicality because there is a constant war fought over the truth. Justice when finally arrived at may be poetic.

More on same-

Venus in Aquarius
Can appear emotionally distant and cool, and intellectual rapport is more important than sex. Generally good with money, but has a weakness for 'gadgets'!

Venus in 12th House
Shyness and inhibitions regarding sex. Wants the unobtainable. Duty and vocation are strong, as is the spiritual dimension of the personality.
+
With Venus in the Twelfth House the areas of life where you are most likely to express your social, romantic and artistic qualities are through a love of quiet and seclusion to peruse personal or secret study and meditation - probably of a spiritual nature. Personal and social contacts often are secretive, and there can be secret love affairs. Social inhibitions or shyness can lead to some loneliness or romantic frustration.

Jupiter in Scorpio
Jupiter in Scorpio gives you the opportunity to develop skill in business, a flair for handling money and a marked degree of social power. Your strong emotional desire for security and personal success ensures that determination and the ability for hard work is not lacking in your nature. You also have a strong need to uncover the truth in any situation and you will go to great lengths to research any subject of interest. This inclination eventually leads to an interest into the meaning of life itself, especially death and the afterlife - hence an interest in the occult and mystical subjects. These qualities are necessary in order to expand your personality and life experience.

Jupiter in the Eighth House
You will find luck, ease of working and general good fortune coming through an inheritance, joint finances, investment, business dealings or your marriage partner. This position of Jupiter gives you the opportunity to develop skill in business, a flair for handling money and a marked degree of social power.

Thanks everyone! oh no, Martha Stewart! lol. I think a lot of what you all posted is accurate- but I have a sextile between my sun and saturn (20 of Sag and Libra) which I think gives me a considerable amount of self- descipline and motivation. However, I do find myself getting lazy about things- relationships included- most of the time I just can't be bothered even trying to meet people. I reach a point where I'm very apathetic about wanting a relationship, but the idealism of the 12th house venus causes me to also place an ideal love relationship as a very high priority. Self discipline is kind of a slippery slope with me. Thanks for the responses!

I have Jupiter in 11th (Leo) squaring Venus in 2nd (Scorpio) squaring Mars in 5th (Aquarius)!! This is a mess for me but not as negative as many of these put forth. I'm usually "stuck" finding the right money-making venture/job though, typical of Mars in air, I start off with an idea ... it just doesn't work out. But I do try. I did a map and am stuck under Saturn/Sun. I should move to Puerto Rico or something where it's Venus ... I don't think I'm overly vain, selfish or any of these things. I've been very giving of money and caring of all my friends/family in the past.... Now? After a big divorce, just always stuck lol. I worked a ton up until I started raising my kids and now they're grown it's hard to find my place. I definitely could be bristly to people and am more introverted (I also have Neptune in 2nd so we survive somehow?) but I don't have tons of friends (except surface-level on FB etc) and would like to write but can't get it all together. I should be gambling I've heard lol!!! ps I also have a Saturn moon in 6th so I have discipline etc.
