I have a book that says your "astrological signature" is determined by:Counting the planets (only the 10, no nodes) in each element. ie; 2 in Fire, 5 in Air, 3 in Water, 2 in Earth Then counting each quality. ie; 5 in Fixed, 4 in Mutable, 1 in Cardinal In the example I used, the person's chart ruler would be Aquarius - the fixed air sign, because they have the most fixed planets and the most air planets. Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I've also heard this process being called finding your chart ruler, so... IP: Logged |

I think the chart ruler is the planet that's ruled by the sign your ascendant is in.
My ascendant is in Capricorn, Capricorn rules the planet Saturn, so Saturn is my chart ruler... I think! I'm no expert though! I hope someone can tell us for sure.IP: Logged |

Hi, your chart ruler is also determined by any planets that are on the Asc, or w/in a 10* orb of the Asc in the first house. So if you have a Sagittarius Asc, and you have Venus in your Asc, then you have 2 chart rulers: Jupiter AND Venus.This can further be complicated if you have an intercepted sign in the first (again, w/in 10* of the Asc). So if your Asc is 29* Sag, and your 1st house is intercepted by Scorpio, then again you hv 2 chart rulers: Jupiter AND Pluto. Bcuz ALL of these planets color and affect your personality. For example, I have 29* Aquarius on the Asc, plus I hv Jupiter at 9* Pisces. So I have FOUR chart rulers: Uranus and Saturn (The ruler and co-ruler of Aquarius), Neptune (the eruler of Pisces), and Jupiter. Hope this helps! -Sol IP: Logged |

Hey Sol, check this out. It's kind of funny. I have one planet in my first house and it is 10 degrees of the ascendant. Guess what it is JUPITER!! Does that make my Chart Ruler a Super Duper Powerful Jupiter?? (Laugh). The sad truth is my Jupiter is retrograde in that spot so maybe not so good?IP: Logged | |
