Hey people...I was just wondering, what in our chart shows what we should invest our time developing ourselves in so that we can reach our full potential?

Is there such a thing in our chart? I think it may have something to do with where the sun is, b/c that is where we "shine" Anyone have any ideas?

Personally, I think every negative aspect in your chart that you find to be true is worthy of your attention, and conscious decision to change.

To me, taking away the limitation, whatever it is, will help you along your path.

I do think you ought to experiment with concentrating on your Sun sign. When I was most Capricornian I was pretty happy and successful. It was a good time in my life.

Take a look at the Moon's Nodes in your Nadal chart. The South Node indicates the negative bagage that we, as indiviuals, carry into this lifecycle, and the North Node, the area that will offer each of you the best opportunity for growth in this lifecycle.

In a Composite chart, the Nodes are very important as well, because they are for the couple involved, and speak to what you as a couple have carried over and what you have to work on as a couple here in this lifecycle.

we can never reach our full potential....

Why?

Cause it's infinite...you can always better yourself....

Yeah and negetive aspects when turned around and worked upon really become the good ones...they drive you to do things..you either move or get mowed down...

interesting replies here..
There was a thread a while back about a book on Jupiter and the "thesis" was that our Jupiter sign is what we should concentrate on and embody if we want to be successful and happy. I'll try and find the thread.. it certainly got the thinking. But then my Jupiter and Sun are the same sign, so..

My Jupiter is with my sun in Capricorn.

How do you find your north and south nodes?

My north node is in Gem, and my south node is Sagittarius. Although I have looked this up online, I am still not grasping the ideas, but if I do then, apparently I had "too much freedom" in other live(s) (Sag) and now I must learn to listen to others (Gem).
My node is in the 6th house along with venus and uranus.

Hmm, that Jupiter and success thing is very interesting, and makes sense since where Jupiter is is where one has "luck". My jupiter is in Sag in the 7th house (anyone have any idea how this related to my south node being in sag?)

Acoustic, here is a link I found on how to find where your nodes are: http://www.cafeastrology.com/northnodetables.html

Here is something I found on the nodes in general: http://www.12house.com/home/archives.cfm?articleID=1987

N. Node in Capricorn
S. Node in Cancer

What kind of baggage would Cancer give me? Inability to establish boundaries with others?

North Node in Capricorn, South Node in Cancer
The South Node in Cancer indicates an intense desire to care for people. However, overconcern with other people’s emotional well-being may be a sign of your fear of taking charge of your own destiny. This overconcern shows itself as dwelling on the past, being afraid to come out of your shell, making other people’s feelings your problem. You are here to rediscover the thrill of achieving your goals. You need to let other people work out their own problems, and develop and cultivate your own ambition. When you do this, eventually others will come in to support you! You are a natural born leader and manager. Because you have the gift of empathy, people trust you, and you find fulfillment when you set up structures that support everyone’s well-being. Focusing on your vision for the future will help you let go of the past.

i think its very complex but agree with the insight on nodes.

i dont think negative aspects take away from self actualization. some of the most highly successful people in the world have had very very difficult charts, with multiple Rx planets and tons of squares and oppositions. any strong aspect brings with it a need for change. the recognition of that need and the manifestation of it (internal or external, positive or negative) determines how well the person achieves their potential.

i agree with hot_ice about the concept of potential anyway. id rather think about it as a continuous improvement.

to take the question literally, the following things would come to mind:

_9th and 5th houses
_aspects to Jupiter
_south and north nodes
_part of fortune
_lot of victory (Asc + Jup - P of S)

of course the varying potentials also matter (material success, versus intellectual achievement, versus humanitarian achievement, etc.)

holistically, the role of the chart pattern would also contribute (is the chart one sided, etc.)

Acoustic God, I agree with what you said about focusing on your Sun Sign.. whenever I've been really in touch with my Leonine nature, I've been the happiest in my life. I wasn't sure if I was the only one..

Great question geminirising26!

I think that in astrology, there are things we are destined to learn whether we want to or not. And then there are these sort of latent strengths we aren't really aware are there.

I agree that the North Node is important. I look to that to see "where we are going". Those lessons we are destined to learn in order to get there.

I believe Pluto can tell you something about your latent strengths one may not be aware of.

But I'm thinking that Saturn is really where you can see how your energy needs to be invested so one can see their full potential. Saturn is how and IF we are willing to put in the work for the long haul. Mine is in Capricorn, which makes me like the Energizer Bunny ... keeps going and going ...

And even if I feel like I don't want to keep going, or that I can't, it just MAKES you ...

I'd also consider what House Saturn is in.

I know it's been a while since this thread got a reply but I think it's worth revisiting.
I've been thinking about what our full potential is in regards to astrology. My North Node is Cancer in the 12th house with Cap in the 6th. Does this mean that everyone of my age who is a Leo rising has the same potential as I do??? That seems very limited doesn't it. It also means that all of us with an Aries Midheaven has the same career "expression." I could then look at my venus, sun , moon etc. combine it all and yet what is my full potential? My grand trine?? the squares, etc. It all seems vague doesn't it. (I'm not asking for answers, Just a commentary here.)
For instance, I recently saw a celebrity chart posted not so long ago and took a second look because mine looked very similar considering we are both Leo rising at about the same degree and one month difference in age. Yet we are very different (due to sun moon venus mercury and mars is 10 degrees different.)I think potential really has to do with what we personally make of it and I've clearly missed the mark, yet I really do feel that focusing on the positive qualities of the NN while releasing the negative qualities of the SN are key to making my life more of what I want it to be. ..and I still haven't figured out how to incorporate my grand trine into my life. Oh well.

Thanks for listening

Kat-wow you have a grand trine! I always wanted one! lol. I am silly I know..I have astrological placemnet jealousy sometimes.

Something stuck out to be in your post:
"I think potential really has to do with what we personally make of it and I've clearly missed the mark."

If I read this right then I say: Life is not defined! You could very well be doing what you are meant to do! :-) I am sure you are on the right track with your ideas about the nodes...you are most likey more wise than I. Lol.

I often feel like there is a wide open space for me to inhabit somewhere out there....this great thing I am supposed to be doing....I don't know what it is. But I am still in college, so I guess I have time to figure it out.

Oh, and I too do not believe we ever stop growing to our highest potential, but I wanted to know what in our chart indicates what we should devote our time to in order to get on the right path...

After weeks, STILL not fully getting the nodal stuff. Really I just don't see it in relation to myself, but perhaps in time...

:-)

Isn't this related to the 11th house? I thought that one of the meanings was to fulfill your destiny...

Thanks Gemini rising you made me teary. Very kind words from you. Strangely I think wisdom is fleeting I noticed my views change at lightning speed from one year to the next. So at your age you have wisdom you may not have at 40. Kids have wisdom that is long gone as well some of it is an unfortunate loss while other types of wisdom needs to be lost to move ahead. (Also you already answered your question about what your supposed to be doing. Reread you response and then read what you wrote to me. It's the same answer.)

Pop producer: I think the 11th house hopes and dreams certainly can help you achieve what you want in this world. Hopefully someone can better elaborate on this. But in the grand scheme of your eternal spiritual destiny north nodes (to me) is where it's at. It takes work to get the meaning but what they teach is very universal, practical yet intangible.
