Knowflakes, how do you reconcile sites that tell you of a certain Asc. and another that tell you of a different Asc. Reputable websites, that is...? Anyone experienced the schizo Asc. problem before...? Two ascendants for the same birth time! Thanks, IP: Logged |

If your ascendant isw near a cusp, some sites may return it one way and some another. I rely on my own "solor Star" software for accuracy.Lanny IP: Logged |

Thanks Lanny, my Asc. is a Cusp Cancer/Leo but the other Asc. that I got is Libra, which is way far from those two, that's why it is a bit confusing for me. Thanks again for replying. IP: Logged |

Neptune,If you accurately type in your birth time, you will get the same Ascendant in very close to the same degrees no matter which astrology site you go to. Double check your date/time/place: it is easy to mistype this information...I have done it a few times myself! Astrologically, Tim IP: Logged |

Could be an AM/PM issue? or a astrological style perhaps? Sidereal vs. Western?IP: Logged |

hi Neptune's Muse - was just curious about what your ascendant turned out to be! i was (am?) going through the same ascendant dilema. all my years i thought i had a cancer asc. depending on whose software i used or which person did my chart though, it was either a 0 degree cancer OR a 29 degree gemini asc. i think i may have finally come to terms with my 29 degree gemini asc haha. cuz it still means i seem more cancerian, and just makes more sense with my house cusps this way! as far as having such an extreeme difference (from cancer/leo to libra!) i definitely agree about re-checking to make sure info was entered correctly. the latitude/longitude may be off or a number re-veresd somewhere, so just double check! then let us know the outcome!! ------------------ ~Libra Sun / 29* Gemini Rising / Aquarius Moon~ IP: Logged |

i have the same problem!!! LOL some sites say i'm gemini asc. others cancer asc. i've read for both, and feel like i'm more cancer rising..i guess it just depends on the software.IP: Logged |

I think this has to be with different house systems. Make sure you always use Placidus or the one you prefer, but always the same one. IP: Logged |

hey Hexxie and all, Well, it turned out to be as it was, CUSP Cancer/Leo but leaning more towards Leo. Since the Asc. is what you look like and how people perceive you, I would say Leo more than Cancer. I have been mistaken for a Leo, a lot. Yeah, the Libra Asc. took me by surprise, but I just plugged in my info, and it was accurate, I am sure, in the astrology.com, the section about who do you get attracted to? As in we always get attracted to our Desc. signs, and it is true, I have been attracted to a lot of Aries, never a Capricorn or Aquarius for that matter. So it made me think... Oh well, Ascendants remain a mystery... Love,

It shouldn't be a house system issue - you should still get the same ASC. There are problems with some software with accounting for daylight savings though. Neptune, just be sure to use software that gives you exact degree *and* minutes and doesn't round up or down to a whole degree (for example if your ASC is really at 29 degree 39 minutes of Cancer, but the software just rounds it to 0 degrees Leo), like the free software at astro.com - I find that software to be very reliable.
