Calwes,The Mystic Rectangle is strong energy combined in a way that makes the strong life challenges a little easier to handle. Although the tension between the oppositions (red lines in your chart) are strong, the sextiles and trines (blue and green lines in your chart) show the way around them. This Mystic Rectangle, however, is especially intense because ALL the planets are involved in the aspect. So we look at the challenge as being a way to balance out 4th/5th house (home, also emotions/self-expression) with 10th/11th house (duty/friends, also rebellion) and to balance out 12th/1rst house (spirituality/being, also action) and 6th/7th house (daily work/relationships). Another way to look at this is the challenge is to balance out your inner world (bottom of the chart) with your outer world (top of the chart) and yourself (left side of the chart) with those around you (right side of the chart). You do this by accepting BOTH your inner and outer worlds and BOTH your way of doing things and the way other people do things. Due to the INTENSE oppositions between the top and bottom of your chart, the biggest challenge is to balance out your inner world with the outer world. Mystically, Tim IP: Logged |

Interesting, Tim! Is it still considered so in composites? If you get a Mystic Rectangle in a composite chart, would you interpret it the same way? Or does it have mystical qualities, hence thename? Also, is it still a mystic rectangle if it is missing one of its smaller sides? (Is that what's it called in geometry?) Peace, IP: Logged |

Muse,A composite chart is a chart made up of the ideal combination of two energies, so a mystic rectangle would be an ideal POSSIBILITY if the couple could work out their "energy sharing" issues. The "mystic" part of the name occurred because a mystic had this aspect in her chart (Madame Blavatsky of the Theological Society), it does not indicate any "mysticism" in the person. A mystic rectangle would have to have all four corners to be a "rectangle". If you have half a mystic rectangle (opposition, sextile, and trine linked together), you have an Easy Opposition, which has its energy focused at the place where the sextile and trine meet.
