Well we can't tell you if it's badly aspected without the rest of your chart.

But Jupiter in Gem is a pretty nice, if a little flakey, and in the 8th can mean a few things, like good mental health, positive sense of your own sexuality and perhap even being unafraid of death (for better or worse). It probably is the best planet to have in your 8th when it comes to paying taxes as well.

Jupiter is a very positive planet, and in most places on the chart it represents luck, enthusiasm, optimism, resourcefulness, and resilience.

When Jupiter's "afflicted" it behaves very differently than other planets when they are afflicted. Instead of being muted or overly "malefic" Jupiter goes for exaggeration when afflicted. So afflicted Jupiter makes the native acts in reckless, thoughtless or dangerous ways out of excess, pride, overconfidence or a lack of caution, concern or healthy, fear/inhibition.

Jupiter when afflicted (and this applies to planets in Saggitarius too ) is also prone to having a "God complex" (Jupiter is after all the god of the gods and the largest planet in our neighborhood), where the native either thinks they are smarter and better than everyone else, and/or think they are invincible and immune to failure or injury. So unless you acting in any of the above mentioned ways, your Jupiter probably isn't afflicted.

Marie,

Gemini modifying Jupiter focused in the 8th house

is

Gemini (thinking) modifying Jupiter (expansion, also wisdom) focused in the 8th house (transformation, also power, occult), so this might mean having some sort of need to understand the nature of power, including occult power. There is a tremendous power possible through learning, and this power might be strong enough to transform your life in some way. The post of Gemini gives examples about different ways this energy can combine.

As to "badly aspected" there is no "good" or "bad" to an aspect, but instead an "easy flow" or "challenging flow" of energy. In general, sextiles and trines are "easy flows" while conjunctions, squares, and oppositions are "challenging flows". However, the more challenges to an energy, the STRONGER it becomes...so be sure to use your power wisely!

Welcome MarieRose!

Jupiter in VIII

With Jupiter in the 8th House a person experiences little difficulty in opening up to and trusting others. This placement of Jupiter is favourable for partnership matters of all kinds, including those of inheritance, although in the matter of intimate relationships, Jupiter in H8 is more likely to have a number of associations of significance rather than one long lasting commitment.
