Where do you get that statement from that picture?

Astrologically, it would seem that everything contributes to ruling the brain. Maybe the Sun is the Grand Pooba of it or something, but there are those here who would say that Mercury rules the brain.

The pic looks like a brain. If the brain is the "organ of thought" then maybe mercury rules thought itself.

edit: and Sun rules the organ of thought (brain).

If mercury rules the brain then I don't know what the hell happened to my sister with mercury in aquarius.

Not a very smart girl.

that pic looks like it's of a cell or some sort of thing one would view under a microscope. interesting that it's opposite and it's actually the sun and is viewed through a telescope! as far as the sun ruling the brain:

quote:
SUN symbolizes the actual person, day, or entity of the astrological chart. In this regard, the Sun can also represent a relationship, a marriage, a corporation or partnership, a contract, a time period, and anything else that is able to be represented. The Sun also has rulership over crucial parts of the body, such as the heart and circulation system, as well as vitality and the essence of the person.

the ruler of the brain is:

quote:
MERCURY governs communication and writing, the mind, intelligence, design, logic, expression, poetry, singing, and music. Mercury also rules teaching; and the conveying of ideas, messages, announcements, and conferencs. Because Mercury was the Roman god of speed and messengers, Mercury rules speed and swiftness, travel, transportation, and all vehicles of transportation (including airplanes, cars, and railroads.) Since Mercury rules traveling, it also represents exploring and exploration – including the exploration of the mind and space; and exploring for minerals, oil, and gas. Mercury has dominion over very important parts of the body, including the brain, ears, eyes, respiratory system, nervous system, and the reflexes. Mercury signifies the teacher, writer, singer, architect, and any profession that has a primary requirement of use of the mind or that requires the act of communicating. Mercury’s rulership of the mind extends to anything that mimics the mind, such as calculators, computers,and computer software.

Ok good stuff... this all came out of some confusion regarding the ruler of the "self"... some say Sun some say Ascendent.

So Sun rules the physical human organism the "grand poobah" as acoustic said (i think that's what he meant). Sun rules the walking talking super-ape as a whole. So since the ascendent is a point and not an actual physical body (like Sun) then it is the ascendent that rules the imaginary self or ego.

Conclusion: Neither the ego nor the ascendent are physical bodies so they go together. And Sun and the Human organism are physical bodies so the do go together.

The brain is supposed to be ruled by Aries...So I guess Mars would be the ruler of the brain.

somehow my mind came back to this post and i realized that i said that the sun could be viewed through a telescope LOL! now i spose it can be but, umm yeah... i guess i just wanted to say that my train of thought in my above statement was along the lines of 'as above, so below'. i was thinkin yeah ok sorta below & within = microscope and sorta above and outward = telescope. anyways i think you people get the idea! i feel better now heh.

My best friend, who is a Taurus, loves that show. I've watched some of them.

I like SGA, but I can't have her claiming the brain in the name of Gems. You know how it is.

I know I should be offended, but that’s just funny.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

how can u people apply ur ideas so loosely! its like some indian priest saying that just because walnut looks like the human brain it is benificial for it!!!

lol!

ur are ur mind. ur body is nothing without ur mind. if ur leg moves ur mind makes it move. if ur skin burns ur mind is the one feling so. and yeah for that age old question, "why do u feel something in the heart when u get emotional?". its because certain chemicals secreted during state of extreme emotions signal the heart to beat more to supply blood to the brain faster so can thoughts can be processed faster. the heart experiences pressure thus we feel something there! as simple as it.

the planets i believe thus rule the individual ares of the brain related to certain type of patterns in us.

i believe...
moon = sentiments
mercury = logical thinking
mars = impluse
uranus = imagination
pluto = fear
jupiter = can't get the word.
saturn = can't get the word
neptune = dreams

god TheEvolution did you have to give such a freaking scientific explanation to make us all look like chimps.....

btw i agree with ur statement but the mind is different from thought, and i think what the original poster meant by the brain is , the dominant thought processes. altho the sun rules holistic personality, i think mercury rules the thought process. how do we think through things? methodically, impulsively, rationally, irrationally? a lot of creatures have minds....but colloquially speaking, brain is a different issue (thoughts, mentality)...thus words like brainy, brainiac, brain fart

Hey Evolution,

That IS what was said quite early:

quote:
Astrologically, it would seem that everything contributes to ruling the brain.

No need for exasperation.
