Mmm, I'm trying to determine which ascendant a friend of mine has. He doesn't know his exact time of birth, but he says his mother told him he was born at about 2 AM, which would put him right at 29 degrees Leo. Problem is, he strikes me as very Sagittarian. There's also the moon sign difference. If he had a Leo Rising, that would give him a Virgo moon, which I just can't see. If he were a Sagittarius rising, he would have a Libra Moon. Which would be easier for me to see. Another thing that goes against the Leo rising is that he's kind of flakey, and not really all that loyal.Mmm, could any of you contrast the two rising signs from personal experience? I don't think I've ever met a Leo or Sagittarius rising I could compare him to... IP: Logged |

Leo ASC people tend to come across as regal, dignified or charming. John Lennon was a Leo ASC (despite what else you may have heard). They often have the smile that kills, if you know what I mean. Leo rising also has some distinctive physical features, especially how the hair falls around the face, like a lion's mane - think of Lennon with long hair. They also tend to be physically graceful and have excellant posture. One tell-tale sign of a Leo rising that they don't want you to know is they often come across as more intelligent or impressive than they really are without offering proof, because they always come across so impressive in that first impression. Remember that Leo is ruled by the Sun, the God of self-importance. Sag rising are often more glowing, energetic, and delightful rather than regal, dignified or charming, if you follow me. They can often come across as a little odd, and often seek out your attention, even then they don't really "get under your skin" so much (that is, you kind of forget about them once they've left the room). They often are more persuasive and subtle than the "knock 'em dead" manner of Leo rising - they often "work" a room to get people to notice them. Whilea Leo rising can walk intoa room and eveyone turns to looks at them, a Sag rising often "annouces" their arrival to get people's attention. Physically, they tend to be tall, with longish faces/facial freature, and sparkling eyes. They often have loud voices that carry and are very gregarious. One tell-tale sign of a Sag rising that they don't want you to know is that often appearences really are only skin deep, and once you get to know them they are a completely different person than the first impression you had of them. Remember that Sag is ruled by Jupiter, the God of exaggeration. IP: Logged |

Yeah. That description of Sagittarius is pretty much my friend...I thought he was probably a Sagittarius. He's really child-like. Maybe born during the Aries decan. I know he's not an Aries rising, because, well, I've known other Aries risings, and they had quite the temper...he just...doesn't get mad. He just blows things off.Mmm, thank you, Gemini Nymph. Actually, to tell you the truth, I don't think I really buy the whole Leo rising description. Don't take it personally, but it's pretty much the same thing I've read elsewhere and it doesn't really match the people I've known who have it. It can only suffice up to a certain degree or extent. I mean, does leo rising count for even attracting negative attention? If anything, I think my rising gives me a bad rep. As far as the relevancy of the description goes, I guess it applies to how others think I'm totally selfconfident and audaciously cocky when I'm not. This happens when people constantly call on me to answer something (I guess thinking that I'm following through what has been happening) or hold me responsible for things I did not even do..but more as if I were culpable for creating some mischief that I do not even know of. It's as though they think I have some great amount of nerve to do Impish stupid things to upset people and then deny them. I assure you though, that I can create mayhem when I'm in the mood, but these people pick on me at the most unlikely times! Another thing, I always seem to be in a grouchy cantankerous mood when I'm walking all alone (in exile) and people who don't know me but see me, think I look like I'm about to murder someone. How does that go for a leo huh? I definitely don't look like I want anyone to touch me in any way, because I always get remarks like, "Oh, right, I can't touch you..sorry.." and that's weird because sometimes, I wouldn't mind it at all. Another thing, my posture SUCKS! I kind of stoop despite the fact that I try to stand up straight and tall and that goes the same for two other leo risings that I personally know. For some reason, some people find it disturbing when I look at them, as in the piercing scorpio look, I'd think when I'm not really even focusing on them at all. The only way I'd be comforted in knowing that I have this rising (that is, if it impacts my personality or anything at all for certain- meaning it's not BS), my smile is genuine and never contrived. But really, I don't understand how that hackneyed description illustrates people with leo rising or how any of the others apply to anyone else. I don't seem very warm and gregarious and in fact I'm not. I actually don't mind going to places looking my worst because I don't give about people who only look for appearances. I'm not there to entertain them.If anything, I seem to shy away from attention whether I look fabulous or horrible. Oh and on Sag risings, I seem to admire scorpio women who have it. I always liked Winona Ryder, for instance, and jodie Foster and they both have this, I found. ------------------ Pieces of me randomly scattered on the floor IP: Logged |

I thought Lennon had Libra rising. What's his birth time? How do you know it's right?

Haha, I can't sing, so no, but I could see myself quoting that to him. He's a big class clown, and suffers from serious foot-in-mouth syndrome. The other day our English teacher said something about how SHE doesn't even always know what she's going to do for class, and he started comparing her to a "crazy oppossum" and got put out! I always assumed he was a Sag rising. But I tried to put him in astrodienst to look at a few things, and the approx. time he gave me came out to Leo. Lmao. IP: Logged |

LOL sounds and looks like a Sag. Maybe he has Sun conj Jupiter or heavy 5 or 9th house? Prominent and supportively aspected Uranus may also give him the above traits. IP: Logged |

Nah, but his Sun and Jupiter do trine. (Sun - Scorpio, Jupiter - Cancer). Both of our Uranuses (sp? How do you make that PLURAL? ) are weak, I believe (Capricorn, opposite Jupiter and Chiron). Mmmm, at first I gave him an approx. time that would put him in the Aries decan of Sagittarius, because he's so damn childish. Haha, that would give him no planets in the 5th House, but does put his Moon (0 degrees Libra) in the 9th. But, looking at it again, that would also put Saturn in the 1st House, and I honestly can't see that. So I readjusted it, and gave him an early Sagittarius Rising, and it put Saturn and Neptune in the 2nd and Uranus in the 1st House. I can see that for sure. But it also put his MC in Virgo, and his Moon in the 10th House. Not so sure I can see that. He wants to go to Julliard and be an actor. IP: Logged |

hmm judging by that first pic I'd say Leo Asc..but you know him, I don't lolDo you think he acts like a class clown to a - be funny and make everyone laugh (sag) or b - get attention and assert his ego, so he feels like he has control of the class (challenging the teacher is a good example lol)..and everything revolves around him (leo) and LOL that second pic made me laugh..what's his sun sign btw? you only mentioned his moon, unless I missed it IP: Logged |

Haha, he's both. But he really likes making people laugh. Ummmm, his sun is in Scorpio. He's the least Scorpionic person I think I've ever met, though. Probably because of all of his other personal planets (besides Jupiter and Saturn) are in Libra and Sagittarius. IP: Logged |

Do you know what his moon is?I know a Sag rising guy and he makes jokes a lot, considering he's got cappy sun. If he fits the sag rising description, then go with that. Notice if he seems happy a lot also, like if he seems to look on the bright side of things & always cheerful. That would be a dead givaway. IP: Logged |

hey Nove,Don't you think this guy looks a lot like your friend?? The guy on the pic is Aries with Leo ASC and Pisces Moon. I think your friend may be so child-like because he is quite young? You both are in your teens aren't you? IP: Logged |

A little, but not really. :-?Lmao. I doubt the fact that he's childlike because he's in his teens. He's so immature, and acts basically like he's a four year old in a sixteen year old's body. Haha, it's sad. IP: Logged |

ACtually, the guy in the picture looks a lot like this guy I used to be infatuated with. It's a shame, though because I never found out his birth time. BUt he was a Gemini Sun, either a libra or a scorpio moon depending on what time he was born (but I'm assuming he was more of a scorpio moon because he was so secretive and manipulative, although he was quite diplomatic at the same time), cancer mercury, leo venus but at a 2-degree orb, and a capi mars. I wondered if he could have been a scorp rising though. I never figured out what his rising is. I surmised it could also have been Sag because I seem to be attracted to Sag risings a lot, but who knows? He could have also been a leo rising as well because I seem to have some leo risings around me and I'm one myself. ------------------ A human life is not worth more Than a tear stolen in a frozen dawn (Than) a drop of blood on a yellowed paper (Than) a shiver in the sharpened rain -HM IP: Logged |

Although I'm a leo rising, I don't think I'm a flake at all. In fact, I think I'm one of the few people who doesn't fall for pretentious bull and don another stupid mask with ongoing trends. But the guy I knew was kind of flaky (if you're trying to mean fickle or disloyal....) because he was so manipulative and suspicious of everyone else like he'd project his own untrustworthy dissembling qualitites onto others. I think he was a very deceitful vengeful guy which is why I felt he must have some scorp somewhere. But now that I think about it, he could have been a leo rising. Combined with the scorpio, he was quite a ringleader!------------------ A human life is not worth more Than a tear stolen in a frozen dawn (Than) a drop of blood on a yellowed paper (Than) a shiver in the sharpened rain -HM IP: Logged |

Oh and PS: I know I wrote earlier (in this topic) that I always come across as if I'm going to kill people, but when I spot a friend, I really warm up and smile. Although I hate my smile, I think it's quite a hearty one and damn well congenial. I think I'm all smiles around the people I like. I always joke around them and laugh because I feel like I have to entertain them when we're hanging about or engaged in conversation. At least, when I'm not feeling mopey and miserable. Because I can just as easily cry in public. Ak, I hate my emotions and try to suppress them, but I fail at that. I only look like I'll kill someone if I do lol! Damn them, because I always wear them on my sleeve. Well, I hope this description helps... IP: Logged |
