I found this on MSNBC this morning. http://astrocenter.astrology.msn.com/msn/ArticleAstrologyHome.aspx?sd=20051122 This year I'm staying home and cooking dinner. I decided to make it a peaceful low-key day. Will only be my little Aqua, the Cappie and myself. The Aqua and Cappie love deviled eggs. (eeeshh). I really dislike cooking those things. The Cappie has never had Derby Pie before. So, instead of pumpkin pie this year, I'm having Derby Pie... with a glass of bourbon... good stuff. What are your plans? Have a Happy Thanksgiving. ________________________________________ Scorpio sun, venus, mars, mercury and uranus Libra moon, pluto and asc. IP: Logged |

Haha – I have so much cooking to do before Thursday. My sweetie and I are going over to his father’s place to celebrate Thanksgiving. I’m making fresh bread from scratch, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, sweet potato casserole, dressing, and gravy. This will be my first Thanksgiving with his family so I’m not really sure what to expect, but I’m looking forward to it. The day after Thanksgiving we’re hopping on my Cancer’s boat and taking a trek to Catalina island for some fun, relaxing time on the water. We’ll snorkel, surf, and generally relax – I’m so excited. Have a beautiful thanksgiving, all! IP: Logged |

Hi 1Scorp/everyone, My Dad loves devilled eggs too. I'll be here with my family, watching movies in the afternoon, helping out when needed. My sister just made this yummy-smelling chocolate pie, made from tofu rather than dairy. There's also a pumpkin pie waiting to be cooked. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. IP: Logged |

Happy Thanksgiving to Everybody I didn't know what a derby pie was, so I looked it up. Sounds delicious. I am having a low-key small get together with my family too. We are having a roast turkey breast rolled around stuffing and all sorts of other goodies to go with it. The pumpkin pie is in the oven right now and should be done is another 10 - 15 minutes. Yum. I am so excited, this will be my first Thanksgiving with just the my love and the kids. We always either go to a huge dinner at his family's or mine. This time we decided to just relax at home and have a simple dinner. We don't have the energy to cook up a huge thing, but we did get soem chicken and stuffing with mashed potatoes, and a pumpkin pie. It makes me feel so proud of us, and so grown up to do our own thing.Happy Turkey Day Everyone IP: Logged |

Ugh! I had to make the pies tonight, and it seemed everything tried to go wrong. LOL. Even my brother was being annoying and in the way. I maded two pumpkin pies and a "harvest pie" (has apples, cranberries, raisins, with orange zest andnutmeg...mm mm yum). I'm waiting on teh last pie to finish baking and then I need to clean to kitchen for tomrrow. IP: Logged |

Sounds like all of you had a nice day. I over-cooked my turkey. It didn't dry out... but it did fall apart. ________________________________________ Scorpio sun, venus, mars, mercury and uranus Libra moon, pluto and asc. IP: Logged |

I suppose that would make it less a chore to crave then? LOL My brother and I had a competition to see who could eat more mashed potatoes. I ended up regretting that. My pies turned out well. I then made 3 quarts of turkey stock with the carcass, and made my mom a *huge* batch of turkey and veggie soup the next day. She was delighted.

No. No carving was required. mmmm... I love mashed potatoes. Did you win? Good to hear your pies turned out. Mine usually tastes good... they just (you guessed it) always fall apart. *Edited - Meant to add that your Harvest Pie sounded really good. That was a good idea for the left over turkey broth. Your Harvest Pie sounds fantastic, GN We went up to B'ham to be w/ my BIL and 'Rents-In-Law. It was a nice time. We went out to a Thanksgiving Brunch at a fancy restaurant, which was kinda odd but probably for the best as we were up w/ a Bachelor w/ no cooking implements. IP: Logged |

I had made a big batch of bittersweet chocolate chip and walnut cookies and they are all gone. Made some more today and going to mail them out as xmas presents this year. The turkey came out dry. The gravy helped. Hehe. IP: Logged |
