I've read so much about Cancers moods being reflected by the waxing & waning of the Moon. If you know a Cancer that is all of a sudden getting 'Moody'...just check the Moon cycle...
and see the 'Waxing & Waning' of the Moon.

There is a correlation to this and the mood swings of Cancers. So, when you read something that say 'Just refer to the Waxing & Waning in order to better understand a Cancer.'...

WHAT in the world does that mean?

How and Where do you find the times the Moon Waxes & Wanes? What does that even mean anyway?

Also, if you know the cycles of the moon how do you create better relationships with Cancers based on this method?

Anybody want to give some insight to this? Any special Cancerians out there understand this?

Dear Apple:

As a Cancer sun I can definitely understand exactly what Linda meant when she suggested you check the changing of the moon and tides to understand a Cancer's mood. She's trying to tell you that our moods can change up to 4 times a day and numerous times in a month. This can be interpreted in two ways – literal and figurative.

In a figurative sense, Cancer's moods ebb and flow frequently. A Cancer might go from laughing and joking to suddenly melancholy to silly all in a span of a day. There's a certain predictability to it. If your Cancer is down and moody suddenly, you can just smile, relax, hug him/ her and know that in a few hours or days he'll be right as rain again. With some signs, melancholy could be a sign of something seriously wrong – some inner darkness that could take months or even years to recover from. For Cancer’s, generally a bit of melancholy is just a passing thing. Something you or someone else did MAY have triggered it, but it’s just as likely that the time of day or the phase of the moon caused it. Cancer’s are remarkably easy to cheer up. Just love them, hug them, and wait for the rain storm to pass. When it does you’ll receive a smile as bright as the sun. You’ll have proved to your crab that you truly love them by holding onto them. It really is remarkable.

In a literal sense, I think Cancer’s moods really ARE affected by the phases of the moon. I actually have a theory that everyone’s moods are – after all, it’s a accepted truth that people act crazier under a full moon. But for Cancer’s I think the effect is especially strong. I know I tend to be my most irritable and emotional under a waning crescent moon. I also tend to feel empowered under a full moon. Actually, come to think about it, I think the darker the moon the weaker I feel, and the brighter it is the more capable /strong etc I feel. So try a little experiment – if you are involved with a Cancer watch the phases of the moon and note his or her mood under each phase for a few months. You will probably find a pattern there.

I hope this helps!

A waxing Moon goes from New to Full; the waning Moon from Full to New. Whole books are written about the various Moon phases.

I think if you were going to watch Moon phases in an individual, you would have to consider their own Moon phase. Where was the Moon when the person was born? Crescent, gibbous, balsamic?? This will tell you something about the person to begin with.

As a person with a large dose of Cancer in my chart, I can tell you that my moods are in a constant state of flux! But it's very true, a kind word or a hug can lift any bad mood.

Thank you ALL for writing. Everyone had something so insightful to say and I APPRECIATE THAT GREATLY!

Azalaksh thanks for posting that link, I'm going to check it out right now.

Isolaede- you're an amazing writer...very easy to follow and everything you said made TOTAL sense.

I'm in total agreement with you that everyones moods are affected by the Moon. I just realized this lately. On Sept 18th *turns out it was a Full Moon* I broke down emotionally and for days couldn't stop crying.

This is coming from a VERY outwardly non-emotional person (an Aries) and a lot more masculine by nature. I've cried maybe 5 times in my life. Tears usually have never been able to flow...

but that day I couldn't stop crying. I began to think, "MAN something REALLY weird must be happening." This is totally unlike me. I then started researching the concept of the moon and moods. When I did I realized that I started to act so out of character and moody/emotional the height of the full moon and for almost 3 days afterwards.

I myself would like to tune into the natural world more and the ways in which we as humans are connected to it. It's becoming harder to do so in a modern civilization with technology and the loss of community/the natural world... but I'm finding it very rewarding the times that I can be more in touch with nature (and now trying to now understand the Moon) which makes me beccome more in touch with and understand myself better.

Well, enough rambling on here. Point is I really loved your post!

Best to you, Nancy
