Hi! I've been looking at my own chart for years, but I've never asked anyone else what their impressions of it might be and I'm very curious! Of course I've got my own interpretations, but I want some more opinions. I've never asked anyone about my chart as a whole before, and I just wanna know what people think.

Well, naturally, your Mars is very significant. It's a singleton (only planet in the social houses) and ought to be intepreted as in the 8th house. Being a Scorp Asc, whatever falls in your 8th has a certain priority as well. Being a Scorp Sun also adds empahsis to your Mars placement.

Mars in Gem is high energy, high strung, and sensitive. It needs a fine balance of action and rest to keep equilibrium, because it can easily burn itself out. Tense aspects drain a Gem Mars, like that Sag Mercury opposition - this indicates problems with communicating, like saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, a lack of tact or being too forceful or self-centered when communciting. Graceful and reciprocal communication will be a skill you'll need to learn, or this opposition will cause you many problems, especially in those areas in your life represented by the 8th and 1st houses. This opposition may also mean that mentally you're very active, yet easily overhwelmed, exhausted and maybe confused. Your thoughts may often strream through your head, sometimes lacking context and reference. This lack of good thought organization may also impede your communciations. However, it's likely you have considerable intelligence, if a bit easily distracted, and once you learn to focus and concentrate, you can put that mental energy to a lot of use. I also suspect that, while it may not be the case for you persoanlly, such a Mars-Merc opposition may contribute neurological conditions like ADD/ADHD.

On the flip side, you have harmonious aspects with Mars between Jupiter in Leo and Moon in Libra, and both in universal houses. This indicates that while your Mars may cause problems for your on intrapersonal and interpersonal levels, you do have positive outlets for those Martian energies that can easily be to your benefit. This would be in the broader social sphere, perhaps in the areas of education, higher learning of travel (9th house), your career or life aspirations (MC) and your overall network of friends or humanitarian pursuits (11th). Overall, I suspect higher education in a field that has direct social impact, like medicine, psychology, social services, civil engineering, or education may be good options for you to consider. Charity and volunteer work would also be very good for you too.

My take on this is that you cannot neglect the significance of this Mars in your chart. How well you handle its energies will be reflected on how that yod with your Mars, Jupiter and Neptune/Uranus ultimately manifests. I persoanlly have found that yods take time to manifest, often being overshadowed by "major" aspects and developing very quietly in the backgrround until they "bloom", often in mid or late adulthood. Until they bloom, they're like a vague feeling or annoyance in the back of your mind, a kind of nagging feeling that tells you something else is going to develop in your life. Yods can manifest either positively or negatively, and with great emphasis on the apex planet(s) - in yur case your Neptune.Uranus conjunction. If you are able to find a way to balance out the difficult sidee of your Mars by focusing on positive outlets for it, you are likely to be helping yourself greatly in the long run, when this yod blooms and makes itself (and purpose) known.

Kyra,

I'm probably telling you what you already know but here is a "whole chart" approach to astrology:

Since you have more planets on the bottom of the chart than on the top you focus on your "inner world" more than the "outer world"

Since you have more planets on the left side of the chart than on the right you focus more on yourself than on others

Since most of your planets are on the bottom left of your chart you use what you know about yourself to develop your "inner world"

Most of your energy is focused on yourself

A review of the basics of astrology is at the link below

Charting wholistically,

First, I think that you are a right-brain intuitive, so I will turn your chart up-side down to read it. This gives you Taurus and the Planet Mars (Gem. & Ret.) rising. You are a survivor--more a matter of staying sane than physically, and you survive by people-pleasing.

This is necessary because you have a very controlling parent, one who equates love with control, and probably calls it wisdom.

Still, beneath it all, your self-worth remains strong and you will mature into a powerfully creative being. Even now, some parts of your life work in magical ways.

I might further comment that you have a truly great mind. Scorpio gives depth and Sagittarius (Mercury) gives breadth. There is the capacity for "mining" great wisdom from "other realms."

Kyra,
I am but an amateur, but here you go...

You are very young to be into astrology, I would say you have an interest in deeper topics in life (mostly b/c of your Scorpio Sun, and Ascendant!)

Your Sun is conjunct Venus giving you an effervenscent personality. You may be a people person in this respect-as you can easily move within circles when you want to.

Does this sound correct?

Rev Alice-

What is thing about turning the chart upside down?? Where did you learn that??

The technique of "turning charts" is one I learned intuitively. I have been using it in my professional practice--with good results--for 15 years. On several occaisions, I re-read charts that had been read by other professionals and was told that my reading was far more accurate.

The idea originated while writing on Ascendants. I wrote, "think of the Ascendant as your right hand. You use it to reach for things. Think of the Descendant as your left hand. It is there to assist the right." This being so, my mind "flashed on" the idea that left handed people might have their Ascendant on the opposite side of the chart. Practice proved the technique....which also works when the left eye is much stronger than the right, as in cases of "lazy eye."

Some astrologers love the technique and some hate it. We recommed you try it and see whether it works for you. If it does, use it. If it does not, don't.

Hi Kyra -

For some reason I got this feeling that your stomach is greatly affected when you get nervous or stressed. I could be totally off, but wanted to get your feedback on that.

For example, too much acid in your stomach, or knots ... even bad cramps.
