My question is: Is this potentially good long-term? Should I consider self-employment?
Is this a good time to start something like this?
Any astrological advice?

With Neptune (spirituality, also confusion) focused in the 10th house (duty, also career), I would not suggest becoming self-employed. You need to have a corporate structure ready-made for you...it would be too confusing to try to create it yourself! With most of your energy focused on the top right of the chart, you are a person who naturally does things for others, which makes you a VERY valuable employee (as you well know! ).

In changing jobs the question is always: Who do you know? With your strong focus in the 7th house (relationships) the answer is probabaly...everybody!

If you have strong contacts outside the office and they are offering you a job, now might be a good time to go! You have very easy connections to transiting (planets in the sky) Jupiter (expansion, also opportunity), so something might come your way. Always be careful with Jupiter that you don't OVER-expand, so make sure the opportunity is there before you quit your current job!

The big challenge coming up, however, is no in your job, but in you. You have transiting Pluto (transformation, also power) conjuncting your Ascendant (self), indicating this is a time of DEEP transformation and self-examination, a time of building self-power and personal awareness. Whether you want to deliberatly add to this personally challenging time the stress of looking for another job is up to you!
